American justice system is fucked up I do not know if he killed that lady or not but he belongs in a mental inst. insted of going to prison were it will make him more of a loony.
I loved the few minutes Phil acted in the movie easy rider ... It pretty much summed up his DOC----drug---of---choice... But he seemed like a very calm cool and collected dude and a likable guy ... But little did we know I guess ... we all have are dark sides ..
I guarantee you the years of alcohol and drug abuse made his condition far worse than the average case of bi-polar disorder. That's like the worst fucking thing you can do for any mental illness. Trust me, I found this out myself. haha. Throw a gigantic ego and a gun fetish on top of this equation, and voilà! JAILTIME FOR A GENIUS!
@ScottMasson You are so right. I understand bipolar disorder and he had the pain and suffering but was functional, so his pain really influenced his genius. "But when god hands you a gift, he also hands you a whip, and the whip is for self-flagellation." Truman Capote said that and it really describes Phil.
It is sad because this interview was recent and he had found a doc and his meds were working without major side effects. Sad he spent his life in the shadows.
Phil Spector suffers from extreme bi-polar disorder. Many of the medications that treat this mental illness (ie. lithium, etc) can cause jittery sensations in the hands and legs, etc. It's a very common side-effect of anti-psychotic medication.
@ScottMasson - He was bi-polar but he also was into self medicating with extreme amounts of cocaine for years which would make his bi-polar a million times worse. It made him extremely paranoid and he would turn off all the lights off in his house, and would not let anyone leave. It`s sad because it eventually cost a woman her life.
@M3town3 I've read multiple books on Phil Spector. I have a similar mental illness myself, which I take medication for. It definitely affects my motor functioning (ie. jittery muscles, etc).
@Barbackablues no offense, but so did Hitler probably, during a one-on-one discussion; that's the thing, one can hardly tell these people with problems from the others
he had a few wigs in his closet

@ScottMasson
This is true. I take Seroquel and it gives my right hand a noticeable tremor.
