i made a hunter so i had the leather armor and stuff and i have a morning star that dose about 80 damage ( I think ) and the bows i have a normal bow and normal arrows are all the things

worth it like the shields and stuff?

I hate that Grass shield with a pashion. The stupid stamina recovery aura is so annoying and not even really needed.

I'm doing this start as we speak, and I'd like to point out that you can get the elite knight armor by running straight, instead of turning left, at the darkroot garden enterance, and keep going until you see one of those white mist door thingies. Go through that and you should be able to see the item indicator (white blob). That's where the elite knight armor is. It's surrounded by a couple of stone knights, so be careful.

fail... if u pick up the soul by the dragon he wont wake up. then u can pick up the rest of equipment. behind the first dragon theres a hidden wall... pretty sure theres a shield in there... when ur going to get the firekeeper souls.. before thw wooden bridges if u look on ur right theres an estoc (good for dex builds) and if u go farther in the land of the drakes u can find armor and the spider shield which will help u in blighttown

Just remember that you have to REST at a bonfire to respawn back there, not just activate it. Also, at the undead dragon in the Valley of the Drake, you should circle around the dragon to get the soul first, then get close to grab the sword and shield. You can grab the sword and shield without dying if you spam A and dodge away quickly.

If you're really having trouble you can obtain the 1handed Drake Sword by shooting the Red Dragon's tail while standing under the bridge leading to the Undead Chapel area. Just buy 50-100 arrows from the merchant in the Undead Burg and use the Longbow which you obtained using Ninja's guide and the tail will eventually fall off landing you this sweet sword.. Be warned this sword seems to make the game too easy for me so if you like a challenge stick with Astora's Straight Sword.

Also there is an alternate path in the garden instead of the one you come from with the black knight in it. It leads to a sealed door with a wall you can break to the left containing a bonfire and if you take the path to the right of the sealed door and follow it straight it eventually leads to an open field with a stone giant to the north east and you will also see an item.. If you quickly run and grab the item you will obtain the Elite Knight Armor which is really great medium armor to start.

Pick up the souls first, he wont attack until you touch the sword or shield.

This was useful. Sword lasted me for a few hours or so 'till I got the drake sword. I also found some elite Knight armor nearby though your basically screwed if you go after it at a low lvl. I also killed that black knight xD Just lock on, stay close. Go anti-clockiwise and backstab every chance you get. Oh yeah lure him up the path to that open area. Like comment if you found that tip useful =p
