myślę że trzeba mieć góralską krew żeby zagrać to z duszą babiej góry. :) wykonanie bardzo ładne ale dość płaskie, nie takie jak typowa góralska muzyka.
Because back in those days I was in a orchestra which was connected with my music education (secondary music school). So actually there were no debates concerning that particular matter.
@jmsuijkerbuijk I just got the score and u are not right. It's written for 5-4-3-2-1, but he says, that when u use more musicians, then the bars 1-126, 151-178, 241-276 should stay solo. So it possible to do it with more people.
So f...in' good, I love it. Even as a modern electro house music lover I still find it sooooo goood, after so many years it's one of my favorite tracks (Rite of Spring is my no 1)...
I've got couple of Orawa's versions, pls check the one conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal, it's sooo amazing!!!
On the Day of the Dead, the Chamber Orchestra of Wroclaw played this marvellous piece in Querétaro, Mexico, I´m still hypnotised and in complete trance. Cheers Mateusz.
Upon hearing the music of Kilar, Penderecki, Szymanowski, Lutoslawski and Chopin I feel proud to be Polish. But upon watching the news for a few minutes, my admiration for Poland immediately winds up with me writhing in pain at having to live through all these low creatures grinning at me with their pockets full of lies and promises never to be kept. I wonder if it's just me or is it a more general sentiment...
Interesting reference to politics beside The Music. All in all it's a different world, not even slightly resembling reality. Therefore we can not mix them. Maybe that's the reason for such a ramification of polish metality?
warhols... poland is great apart from economy which sux. wages 4 times lower than in the uk. but the nature, the woods... it`s kilar`s music which expresses it fully.dark woods, swamps and hot summers. must experience it to unerstand it. i live in the uk these days but dream about my country al the times. the smell, the beauty... love poland
@warhols25 A Polish artists have a great role in forming my opinion about world and art: Krzystzof Kieslowski . He made get deeply intrested in Poland and it's art.
My school (kent state) just put on this piece wonderfully. It was easily the highlight of the whole show, though they should have had it closing the performance rather than opening it.
wow this was played ridiculously well, a percussion ensamble that i am in is putting together this piece with marimbas, and xylophones, it won't hold the same ferver as with strings but it will sound great.
wczoraj widzialem to na zywo, jestem tym utworem tak wzruszony, wrecz narodzil mnie na nowo, calkowicie odmienil mi perspektywe,,, dziekuje za stworzenie tego cuda. michal
I read that the subject of this was to represent the... life in the wilderness, something like it, like the harmony of nature... but weird, doesn't sound to be like that
Hmm, I think you've got it all wrong :). Orawa is the part of Poland and Czech Republic - many gypsies live there - they have a rich folklore, for example - music. In this piece you heare their traditional articulation, riffs etc. Besides - notice the ending shout "Hey!" - isn't it obvious? :)

Does anyone know why this orchestra chose to play the piece with many more instrumentalists than the composer required (5-4-3-2-1)?
