  • PHENOMENOM~~!!!

  • HER LOOK!!!!! IT'S SO TOGETHER....AWESOME PERFORMANCE~~~

  • Patti is absolutely phenomenal!!!!!!

  • She sang that damned song didn't she? I gotta make this a favorite

  • chillllllsssssss!!!!!!! :D i love patti

  • this was the prime of her prime. Could her voice go higher? She does the baby voice. And, the audience was waiting for the acrobatics. funny that she does her Rainow "note" on the word "follows." sneaks up on you. she makes the word a paragraph.

  • WOW!!! Patti Labelle ...what can I say about her voice and style that others who love her haven't said. Wherever you are Patti, we love you and will never forget you.

    Ellie

  • she put her "over the rainbow" note in here!!

  • BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO .... THE GREATEST !!!!!!

  • GLORIOUS!!!!

  • that is A real DIVA!!!

  • I love you Ms Patti you are so fierce!!!

  • OMG... god bless the person who uploaded this.. i remember watching this in my younger days.. it brought back so much memories.. i actually cried when i saw this. her first performance where she opened the show was beautiful. its so amazing how she is able to hit a high note from such a low point... she can really hold a note like no one else.. its AMAZING how UNIVERSAL MUSIC IS AND IT TOUCHES THE DEPTHS OF OUR SOUL...

thnx, lets continue to suppor here no matter what people say about her..

  • Such a wonderful voice, Patti is the best.

  • B2 to D6 is a broad range, is it not?

  • This was easily over 10 years ago and I think she was singing over the rainbow. She was at the top of the 5th register and descended well bellow what she was known for. She did it all on a breath that was around 10 seconds. Everybody was looking at each other in amazement 'cause it was Patti doing it. I may have heard her sing that low once after that, but part of why it was surprising is the tone was full, dense, and big. It was obviously for dramatic affect but she pulls it out when she wants

  • I didn't put words in your mouth - that's why I used the words, "imply" and," sounds like".

She has much more than just high notes. I've heard her go lower live (lower than B2) than I've ever heard her on record.

I appreciate your civility. The tone of my last comment was unnecessary.

    Peace

  • I'm saying that she doesn't hit her LOW notes often and that's how my sentence reads. I said Erykah's tone quality was dubious independent of your comment. The POINT that you missed is that Patti does have a low register. It sounds like you are trying to imply that Patti isn't talented which you are not qualified to do. Whether you like her or not, she is a legend and admired for her singing by people far greater than you, including Aretha.

  • Look a here, sista to sista. Take your nappy headed faggot ass on. You need to go and suck the sweat off of a deadmans nutts, and get a fucken life.......

  • if you got that damn offended. It must be your pussy ass. Bitch!!!!!!!! LOL

  • Erykah has NEVER hit a high note of any quality and you said Patti is basically all high notes - you simply don't know what you are talking about. She doesn't use them often, but I have heard her hit very low notes. In concert I heard her hit a note so low, I couldn't believe it was her. Clearly you don't know her very well.

  • im sorry but this a comment back to the person commenting about pattie range a other that share her high notes and no disrepect to the other female performers but pattie be the only one hitting the d6's or any high notes rolling on the ground. am i right or wrong? can i get a amen! now that is talent

  • trying to agrue with dumbass people about Patti's vocal range. Is like trying pump air into a dead person. You are never going get into them....

  • Phenomenal Performance!!!!!!

  • Patti's hairstylist is amazing...I love the extravagance of each style she's had.

  • Erykah Badu? are you fucking kidding me? Patti would sing her into straight hair and normal clothes

  • ..lol..

  • Hahahah!!! Good one! lol

  • WOW!

  • She got the Edward Scissor Hands Do...lol. Love me some Patti...

  • Wow!!!

  • we are so so blessed that over all those years she performed so much on tv shows, they invited her because she is a sensation and always delivers..

  • I agree, actually. Ive always said that a lot of people wont really appreciate what she was able to do vocally unitl they see her yrs and yrs after she was in her prime. Ive seen all of the better chick singers over the yrs. Im only 40 but Ive seen the Chakas and the Whitneys and the Arethas and the Jennifers (both Holliday and Hudson)..and Im here to say that none of them made a simple performance as special as this woman has. When she sang on tv, you sat down cuz u didnt wanna miss anything.

  • I agree...Patti makes you want to listen to whatever she sings...even if she's singing the ABC's! I love her and she has THE VOICE, THE RANGE, and THE GIFT to make listen and then love it. She is the greatest!

  • @pronkking yes, she's so much more than just a spectacular singer like the others you mentioned. what she gives on stage can not be taught.

  • @pronkking I couldn't have said it better. Patti's voice in her prime was a freak of nature. No other female singer today or back then could come close to moving an audience the way Patti did. All the women you mentioned are great, but Patti has a unique sound and style that is hers and hers alone. It's sad that she never really reached the commercial success of less talented artists, but she will forever be in a class by herself. When she's gone people remember the phenomenon that was Patti.

  • This is the Patti Labelle Barbie! LOL She can so soulfull and fierce wearing a corset (foundation) - now thats a gift!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • Just awesome. I am always looking out for the next loudest singer. I think the closest is either Loleatta Holloway or Jocelyn Brown.

  • yea, I wouldnt be surprised to find out that she was one of the loudest, if not THE loudest. Lets face it, the woman has a GIFT. A lot of people just arent born with those type of lungs. Sometimes, she's loud as hell and her mouth is barely open. But the GIFT hse has is grabbing you by the heart, as soon as she opens her mouth. My music teacher in HS, calls her a "flat-footed,stone-cold singer". And my gramma says, "That child can chirp"...lol

  • She has the " IT " factor.....not many have it..to name a few Chaka Khan and Gladys Knight.

  • Wasn't Patti Labelle in the Guinness World Records for having the loudest voice and the biggest range? Somebody had mentioned this to me about a year ago i believe it. I'm gonna research it.

  • yes she was in the guinnes book april 2006 for having the Louding Belting note. which means she can start a song real loud and stay up there.. a lot of artist has to sing then go up there check out her love in washington cd she does it all over it

  • Highest Belted note :)

  • What a Powerful Voice sing it ms Patti
