Who's to say that certain people who, like yourself, disliked the idea of Homosexuality didn't decide that they might slip it into the Bible? After all, the Bible is a huge influence. You're evidence of that. Over time it may have just been absorbed into the scripture that it is wrong.
The problem with that idea is the fact that God is omnipotent. He wouldn't allow His Word to be changed or translated wrongly without punishment and correction following. And yet, here we are, with our current translations of the Bible.

That's a pretty good point, but I'm not sure that God would directly intervene. If we all want to condemn ourselves to Hell, we have the Free Will to do that. Technically, unless the Bible changes to tell us to DO something that WILL send us to Hell, perhaps God may do something about it. I don't know. My point was merely that it's possible we're told something is wrong when it isn't, not the other way around.

I suggest Leviticus. God meant for sexual interactions to be between a man and a woman, and nothing else. Beastiality, homosexuality, and others are sins.

My biggest concern is that I can't understand WHY it would be a sin. I can understand why it's wrong to commit adultery and murder and bestiality and so forth, but who comes to harm from homosexuality?
My view on it is that the Bible guides us to live happier lives as a whole species.
I apologise for my ignorance if that's not specifically true, I haven't read the whole Bible yet. The closest reference I had found until now said that sodomy was a sin, rather than being gay itself.

I don't claim to be an expert, but it seems to me that any sexuality other than heterosexuality is a sin, and therefore it must be avoided at all costs. Love is fine; the sexual stuff isn't. That said, there's really no shame in being a virgin your entire life anyway.

I'm a sociology/religon student and I'm looking at sexuality and I'm fairly certain my teacher said science was looking into the genetics of sexual attraction.
That being said, how far do you take the letter of the Bible to its fullest extent? I mean Leviticus (Leviticus 15:19-30, Leviticus 20:18, Ezekiel 18:5-6) all say to avoid menstruating women. I'm just interested-do you agree with those passages?
