  • It's very interesting to know there is Hakka speaking community in Brasil(Entao nos podemos comunicar em duas linguas,em portugues e hakka,eu sou um dos milhares de timorenses descendentes de Hakka nascido em Timor Leste que vivo na Australia.Seria muito interessante se as nossas comunidades entrassem em contacto em contar as nossas historias como os nossos antepassados levaram-nos as diferentes partes do munto.Ha muitos missionarios brasileiros em TL panticipando na reconstrucao do nosso pais.

  • thank you for posting. i want to retain hakka traditions too.

  • He was speaking the Hakka dialect of the Hong Kong region. Hong Kong Hakka is more resemble to the Huizhou Hakka and a bit different from the Meizhou Hakka (Taiwan Hakka resemble the Meizhou Hakka, like the presenter of this video saying). Beside, he is not a fluent Hakka speaker because Hakka people of his generation are using Cantonese (Guangzhou dialect) already. The old ladies in there 70s, 80s and 90s are speaking more authentcially, but it is disappearing sadly!

  • what kind of hakka is the man at 6.35 speaking?

  • How nice , we could understand every single word because it´s exactly how we speak Hakka at home in Brazil , also in the Netherlands and in Suriname as well . Thanks Tian for posting !

  • Hong Kong Hakka sounds like Cantonese.
