I have never used this airport. When I travel to Florida, I normally use Orlando International Airport (MCO). The ironic part is I mainly go there to see Satellite Beach,Florida and Kennedy Space Center. Melbourne Aiport is so much closer those places. Actually the design of the wing allows A380 to have a lower stall speed. Which means A380 can land and takeoff at slower speeds than that of comparible aircraft such as 747. The engines on A380 will outperform engines used on 747 anyday of the week and doing all of this while using less fuel.

V2 is not the rotation speed. V2 is the 'takeoff safety speed', the speed which will be held after engine failure. The pilot rotates at Vr, usually announced as "rotate".

Flying might be the safe way to travel they say but there is no such thing as a safe aircraft. they wont be competing with airbus on the mega sized planes. they're betting on the 787 dreamliner, a mid sized airplane, to replace the 767, and airbus will follow with the a350.

i dont think you realise that much more boeing planes have crashed than airbus! for a start, boeing planes such as 747's control stick follow exactly the movement of the pilot if he turns too hard. eg, the pilot smacks the stick left, the plane rolls left violently, while airbus control sticks go through a computer to stop the plane rolling or diving dangerously fast in a matter of seconds. i dont know what you think safe is, but that seems a LOT safer to me.

You do sound like an intelligent person...but in all seriousness, you probably don't know what you're talking about, and judging planes without knowledge. Boeing and Airbus both make great planes. I'm pretty sure if a Boeing crashed, which has happened more than Airbuses, you wouldn't give up hope on then would you? No.

no, i wouldnt give up, but the last 6 years or so, airbus has quadrupled the accidents boeing has, boeing of course has had its fair share of accidents, but also boeing has been around a lot longer than airbus.

Alright, where are you getting your statistics from? And secondly, I don't think an airplane manufacturer should be based solely off how many people they can kill, that's just stupid. And secondly, if you want to grade them like that, look at total hull loses of all aircraft from both manufacturers, I guarantee you Boeing has more. But then again I'm not the one saying this is a primary factor, you are.
