yea but why are movies and the ideal fps considered to be 24fps when they are more fps offered like 25, 30, and even 60? What is special about 24fps?

Also if you buy a 5d mark2 now, does it come with these firmware updates or will u still have to update the camera?

NIKON D 7000 IS BEST VIDEO DSLR IN NON 35 FULL FRAME SENSOR. IT IS 24 MM. BUT IF IT HAD 35 THEN IT WILL BE BETTER THEN CANON 5D MARK II.

550D is a fine camera. For starters you don't jump straight to full frame camera's like the 5d. I have seen people perform just as well with the 550D, 60D, 50D, and other crop sensor cameras. Also the 550D is much cheaper than the 5D so don't stress. If you're just a starter and just getting to know photography.

If you really like the idea of the HD video aspect of the camera, then go with mine. The 60d, with the swiveling screen, it makes down low shots way easier because you can just put the screen at any angle really. Better in shooting that type of video, in my opinion.

i have this camera. bu t i only get 24fps and 30 fps....I thought i had the latest firmware. so did they get ride of the 25fps?

@ckaye1100 You need to change the Video System in the menu from NTSC to PAL.

PAL allows for 25FPS in 1920x1080 and 50fps in 1280x720

When you select NTSC you will have 1920x1080 in 30fps and 24 with 60 for 1280x720.

@ckaye1100 That sounds right. You have the option of 24, 25, and 30 in 1080P.

Depending on PAL or NTSC it changes the frame rates due to different standards.

Please keep in mind that 50 and 60fps is only for 720P and not for 1080p.

So it sounds like you have the proper frame rates available.

Yes that is very strange as it should do that res. I have an EOS 7D and I have this and so should the 5D mark II. You may want to check it at the camera store that you purchased it.
