  • 合気道はかっこいいですね。私も合気道がんばります。

  • 合気道、合は調和・気は精神・道はみちだったような

  • This looks like poetry in motion.

  • cool

  • great video ... great spirit from both of you ... but i wonder , how long was the exam ?

  • This looks like Tomiki Ryu which would explain the Judo feel. Good stuff.

  • hey casey,

there are some interesting techniques in your test, looked like judo-like hip or shoulder throws and a juji gatame armbar. i do judo for 15 years and allready started with aikido some weeks ago now. to me some of those techniques seem to be very different from aikido, so i wondered how you could do this "judostuff" on your nidan test. please, correct me, if im wrong. and by the way: great demonstration and an excellent uke!

  • Hi thanks for watching, as for those techniques my sensei pretty much encouraged me to do em. It seems he's really open to that kind of stuff, and though I'd done about 10 yrs of karate and kickboxing before starting aikido I'm still much more comfortable grappling and throwing and such since I wrestled for about as long as you did judo - thus sensei just encouraging me exploit my strengths. I think? anyhow good luck w/ your training & thanks again for watching it was a lot of fun making this

  • dude..... why switch to aikido??

  • very impressive! lol was your partner being tested too? lol that poor guy got tossed around like a ragdoll, he should get something out of the shimsa too! lol

  • thanks and yeah I was really lucky to test with him... chances are anything that looks good in there had as much or more to do with his awesome ukemi (falling) as it did my waza. Besides great technique he's the epitome of true aikido spirit; I think the "something" he got out of it was the feeling one gets after being helpful to another. thanks for the comment ;o)

  • Hello, Casey

    I watched your video interestingly.

We wait at dojyo for your coming.

  • Hey Masaaki thanks for the comment,

  • Good job and congratulations!

Fitting music too! ^^.. what is it called?

  • Thanks and arigatou :o) I found that on iTunes,

it's called "Wazawai" by Kiyoshi Yoshida.
