  • Yeah. Beat us at any other sport. Wont happen.

  • I remember this. I seriously don't understand what was wrong with this, they didn't do anything wrong.

  • Don't take Canadian women too seriously. The best thing to do is just ignore them. They are spoiled little girls.

  • @upstart1234ify Yeah, okay. They're just Olympic Champions! FYI: In CANADA, we have beer after a CHAMPIONSHIP win. Or, recreationally! None-the - less, I DO think an Olympic GOLD medal, would qualify, as a championship win!! Hell, for that matter, in Canada, we have beer, win or lose!! I don't know too many "spoiled little girls" that play hockey, JOKER! Most of the girls, who make our team, have played "full body contact" with boys all their lives. Go Canada ,Go!

  • There is nothing wrong with this, they can celebrate however they want in their own country.

  • Skating around the rink drunk is sooo FUN!!!!!!

  • I don't really like canadian women, they are spoiled, rude, and insecure. Plus they are all gay.

  • @ReallyGotYou We're "spoiled", how? The fact that those girls/women celebrated after the ONLY people left the stadium, were "press" people, apparentely,... Everyone KNOWS that Canadians celebrate with BEER after a game! Win OR lose. That's OUR tradition! If we Canadian women were , actually, all gay, Our birth rate would be ZERO, n'est pas?? Besides, as Seinfeld said, "not that there's anything wrong with that!" That , my friend, is a "last resort" type of insult. Whatevs....

  • Canada is just wrong in general.... eh?

  • thats the kinda stuff you're supposed to do in the locker room...

  • This celebration is tame. I seem to remember the AmericanMens team to losing in Nagano in 1998.Do the words fighting, vandalism and destruction of Olympic property ring a bell.

  • If it was the Americans that won gold, they would have made atleast two movies and a documentary by now lol (minus the on ice celebration), lol. Lighten up yanks, the best teams won.

  • "We Canadians know how to celebrate "

No. We russians after our win at hockey U20 WC know how to celebrate. Not you. we."

  • Can you precise the song please. Thanks

  • OMG!!! These couldn't have been Canadian sportscasters, eh? THERE's NO beer league in this nation(Canada), that does NOT have beer after the game! Those girls have simply epitomized EXCELLENCE in hockey. All I can say, is , you GO girls!! Celebrate for a thousand years!! BTW: excelence in hockey=Canadian beers after! Obviously, you don't win a Gold medal if you're a smoker. Sour Grapes much???

  • Wow, I didn't know there were actually people COMPLAINING about a team celebrating O_o

Only a souless loser would expect people who HAD JUST WON A GOLD MEDAL IN THE OLYMPICS to simply go home, sit on the sofa, watch TV, and flick their bean.

They fucking won a gold medal, they should be able to celebrate however they want so long as they're not harming anyone (Which, by the way, none of them did). If it was 'so bad of them' to do such a thing, blame the media for broadcasting it.

  • breathe people... they're just excited to have done something 100% of the losers complaining never ever will :)

  • OMG PPL!!!!! you guys must be americans for the most part cuz in MANY MANY parts of Canada celebration goes down the same way. And our team is most likely not the only who has done it that way. Just because they got caught doesnt mean that they are now the devils of hockey ok. They won the gold medal for our country and for themselves so give it up man and live life to the max.

  • OHHHH COME U GOT TO BE KIDDING ME IF THE MEN DID THIS NO ONE WOULD CARE , THIS IS STUIPEd THEY JUST WON A FREAKING GOLD MEDAL

  • When the US won the soccer world's a few years ago Brandi Chastain started to STRIP !!!! LOL! Let the gals have fun! Lighten up kill joys.

  • I can't believe the media was so low as to use this celebration as a black mark against Canada. How desperate and low. You practice for 4 years with one goal in mind, and reach that goal, and we'll see how you celebrate.

  • these are Olympians that won a gold there atheles of there country and this is how they show them selves they clearly have no respect for there country or there themselves or the olympic community dont call the americans out on this becuase they lost to them becuase if the americans won they wouldnt smokee a cigar on ice stupidddds

  • @GNRxEla What is wrong with what the Canadian women are doing? They just won the freaking Gold medal they have been training and striving to achieve for almost 7 years when Vancouver was announced to host the 2010 winter Olympics. Smoking cigars and drinking beer/Champaign is wrong or illegal? Or because they did it on the ice? The drinking age in most provinces is 19 and some places like Quebec 18. You Americans act they were on the ice smoking crack or something, grow up already bitter much?

  • @strker99 I think what really set people off is the fact that they did it one ice in front of "the world" honestly who really cares what they did. Yes maybe they should've waited until a more appropriate time but it is the Olympics, how many people really get to participate in such an amazing event?

  • @RDCSpider Could you just for a moment, pull that carrot out or your ass??!! Waited for MORE appropriate times??? like what???? Winning an Olympic GOLD medal , perhaps??? More Appropriate?? Are you legit?

  • @ralphyization did you even read my whole comment or just the appropriate time part? I did say it was the Olympics did I not? There is a time and place for everything, however some things can be excused, this is one of those things I think.

  • @GNRxEla How was drinking and smoking cigars disrespecting their country? They honored us by celebrating like they should. These women train 7 days a week to be the best. This is the OLYMPICS, winning gold is an amazing achievement and these ladies were having fun after long years of hard work. They weren't sniffing cocaine or stripping, get that stick out of your ass my friend. This is a respectable celebration.

  • @GNRxEla Of course, they wouldn't call themselves Americans, They're CANADIANS!?? We ALWAYS have beer after a hockey game!! We DID teach the world the best game in the world, but I guess, we neglected to mention, that BEER is mandatory!! You might not see NHLers do it, BUT beer is an ABSOLUTE! I'm sure the pros don't do it every night, but when THEY win their Stanley Cup, they'll forego the champagne, for BEER!

  • Yeah the yanks are just pissed off that the LOST! The yankees should learn to accept silver medals.

  • you yanks are pissed that we kicked your asses Yankee go home and stay there

  • i think alot of them got home and got laid afterwords so mmmm... pishh!!

  • These girls should file a lawsuit against those people that made them apologize. That was very unfair. If they wanted to celebrate there in that place they had all the right in the world to do so. They did nothing wrong. On the contrary, they did right. I am sure they will win the lawsuit.

  • @johnnyponny4 I'm guessing you dont get laid much

or respect women in general either

  • @kyle887923 I don't get laid by canadian women much, thank God, for reasons i have already metioned.

  • dikes

  • I think its fine....... because its not every day that you get to win a GOLD medal for their home country........... GOOD JOB GIRLS!

  • there just having fun.

  • I am Canadian and I am ecstatic about canaidan men and women winning but they shouldn't be doing this on the ice, do it in the change room or somewhere but not on the ice

  • how did they get pics of this if everyone left the building??

  • You go girls! Party like you won the Olympic Gold Medal in Ice Hockey!

Our media and society are such a bunch of freakin' double-standard, moralizing hypocrites, it's incredible.

The media celebrate and continuously replayed Jon Montgomery's Olympic celebratory beer stroll in public.

The law state: "Except in the case of liquor purchased and consumed in accordance with a license under this Act permitting consumption in a public place, no person shall consume liquor in a public place."

  • It was after the game, the crowd was gone, the other team was gone, what does it really matter? And who really cares if a couple were drinking a COUPLE years underaged? It's not like they were 12 year olds

  • OK everyone worked a long time to get there ya'll talk like ur the only ones that did,wrong.. U talk like since it was your ice they had the right to make fools of themseives which they did. But it was Olympic ice as soon as the games began not canadian ice and not just the womens team but canadian hockey coachs or anybody else that was there should have told them to get off the ice. The olympics are for everyone to have the same chance to compete and to do so with pride and sportsmanship.

  • @travboy7575 It may be Olympic ice, but every square inch of that rink is every bit canadian ice and im pretty sure about that considering i attend just about every canuck game. And being home ice and on their own time, they're at liberty to celebrate in any manner they deem appropriate. Just so happens, some high mighty or sore press outlet present, took great offense and reported it out of proportion. The Europeans and Hockey fans world over are shaking their heads that this is even news.

  • @scaurus So it is Olympic and it is canadian ice at the same time. u could not be more wrong and it does not matter how many times u have been there. As soon as the games started it became Olympic ice not canadian or American or Eurropean ice.But from everything I have hear and seen about these game ya'll will not have to worry about the Olympics coming to canada again for a long time if ever again. sportsmanship and character are still part of sports see if u canadians can find some up there.

  • @travboy7575 And how is it not national, in this case canadian, and olympics ice simultaneously Travboy? Nowhere on the Olympic charter or related guidelines does it indicate that the Host city must relinquish sovereignty. As for the conduct of the celebration itself, it's just alcohol and cigars, post-tournament, post game, in the bask of the "home" ice they won it on. Nothing more. Sportsmanship and Character? You shouldn't be the one to prat about those qualities, American...

  • @travboy7575 Oh i almost forgot, what did you hear about the games?

  • @travboy757Find sportsmanship in CANADA? Are you legit? Partying on the ice with a beer, AFTER the media(they thought ) was gone. They did NOT do it in front of fans, or media, that they knew of.... They hid! Have you seen basketball players, football players, calling on cell phones after a touchdown? etc... These are players who have the ultimate respect for their opponents!! I think, it's the fact that Canada prevailed, and had the NERVE to celebrate, was the problem...no apologies

  • travboy7575 :

how exactly is this acting like assholes? They didn't do it when the other team was standing there, they won the game fairly, they didn'd badmouth the US, berate them, or anything unsportsmanly. I can see if they were hammered, wandering the street in their gear, mocking the opponent, but EVERYONE knows that didnt happen. Get a grip people, These ladies worked insanely hard for that victory, not just that day, but for years in advance. They deserve a freaking beer.

  • If somebody stepped on a flag in 2002 than that is bad sportsmanship too and I would call them out on that too.But if ya'll think that everything that olympians do is not watched by the media I don't know what world u live in.I keep hearing we are sore loosers. but the silver is a victory, for both the women and the men.How about being sore winners, I have no problem with them celebrating after the game, heck stay out on the ice for an hour or two.but when it is over it is over.Bad sportsmanship

  • They stomped on our flag. They lost the gold medal game. They have a history of showing their unsportsmanlike attitudes. Who is seriously surprised by this reaction?

  • this is not disrespectful in the least bit, what is disrespectful is the American team having a problem with this, because canada won, & it's their ice hockey floor & it's their country, & they did nothing illegal, so how is that in anyway disrespectful?

  • the only media source that was making a big fuss about this was the american media

they werent doing anything illegal or drinking on a foreign countries ice

    its OUR ice

they can do what they want

does anyone remember in salt lake city 2002, after canada beat the united states in womens hockey ..the americans stopped on the canadian flag in their dressing room

    ..so whats more unsportsman like?

  • Who gives a fuck?

They were gettin all lit up for some serious carpet munching

  • @AlbertaRose94 ARGHHHHHHH who freaken cares if it SPILLED on to the ice honestly NO ONE WAS THERE BESIDES NOSY LITTLE MEDIA MEMBERS!!! they won on HOME SOIL do you understand the excitment and how happy these women were? Don't tell me you never drank a sip of alcahol when underage this is blown WAY out of proportion and who cares she was underage man she was like a couple of months underage my god u rly think they would say no u cant drink and celebrate with the other women? yah sure

  • We Canadians know how to celebrate !

  • What's the big deal? You people don't do this in your country?

  • These girls earned their gold and deserved to celebrate. There's nothing wrong with having "A" post game beer. As far as I know, they weren't puking all over the place. Besides, the game had long been over; the stupid media had no business being there. If you see anything wrong with this, you're probably a sore loser american or a self-righteous, moralistic moron.

  • I love how the Americans comment on this like they have any idea what they are talking about. Maybe in your country you have severe problems with under age drinking, but in Canada its not that bad. Not to mention the "underage" chick is of age in her home province. lmao.. comon the drinking age in the us is 21. just goes to show that you guys are light weights and do stupid things when drinking. This isnt the US/ how about you stop trying to decide whats right and wrong out side your country.

  • @adeklis I live in America and couldnt agree with you more, no wonder why the majority of the world hates us

  • @adeklis Yeah some party. Drinking and smoking. Lol. Lame sauce.

  • @Soccermaster54 lmfao!! what do you do at parties?? Have cake a juice in a sippy cup? Cigars and booze are pretty popular during celebrations. Are ya over it yet? ;)

  • @adeklis Yeah. Not that good at all. Smoking is for losers too so...

  • @Soccermaster54 Do you "get" the fact, that they DON:T actually smoke??!! If they DID, your American team must REALLY SUCK! Obviously, it was in celebration! If the Canadian team were all smokers AND, SMOKED your American hockey team, than, really, maybe those girls should find day jobs.....Can you say, "SOUR GRAPES"??

  • @ralphyization What? If the Canadians smoked than US wouldn't be as good? You're stupid.

  • @Soccermaster54

apparently its not considering they won :)

  • i laughed my ass off in disbelief when they did this... GO CANADA GO

  • what does fair have anything to do after the game is over? im sure that the us team or any other team for that matter would have done the same thing... they are only drinking beer and smoking cigars.. its not like they are rubbing it in anybodies noses. I say let them do what they want, they played hard and thus deserve to celebrate however they choose.

  • they're just being..... CANADIAN!!!

    GO CANADA!!

  • lol who cares let them celebrate the way they want to, they fricken earned it :) go canada go! way to make us proud :D

  • canada we love the rink and ice as much as you do, hip hop on ice let us perform for you

  • GO CANADA GO

Power to the woman, who woulden't want to celebrate like this!!!!.

    They earned it!!!!

  • Pboyzs would love to perform for yall in canda with hip hop skating

  • They should all be arrested with their gold medals stripped from them! Oh the horrors of drinking champagne & beer and smoking cigars on home ice after a big win! They should all be beheaded for acting unlady like. These Canadians are awful with the hockey and their winning and their total disregard for how women should act when they win in hockey. If they knew any better they would have taken off their gold medals and walked right into a kitchen! I like sarcasm!

  • Look kids, drinking and smoking IS good for you!

  • So basically when you win in canada and you are canadian you can go out and act as big an asshole as you want. No need for integity now much less showing a little bit of class and sportsmanship. No in canada those things are out the window if you win. well I wonder how ya'll would feel if the US team had won(not hard to imagine if you watched the game)and then came out and acted like these girls did. It was a shameful display of bad sportsmanship that will overshadow the win forever.

  • americans lost deal with it and stop bitching about it. these girls have been working their whole lives for this moment and celebrated so fuck off

  • No one is bitching about the lose, heck we are thrilled for a silver and the US women have worked a long time too.But how about a little class and sportsmanship they were on the olympic stage and showed they have none. JUst as you have showed you have none, but come to america my friend and we will show you how to win(kick your ass)and still show sportsmanship.(not kick you when your down after I've kicked your ass.)

  • no one gives a fuck about class okay just shut the fuck up and stop making empy threats, cause we all know ur a little bitch. k thx

  • @travboy....

I don't see how having a POST GAME celebration isn't classy. The crowds were gone - the other teams were gone.... they wanted to go back on the ice they won on and celebrate, take pictures, etc. But the damn press has got to be EVERYWHERE and blow everything out of proportion.

I'm just glad things are sorted out now, and think the situation ended well.

  • so basically if you loose in america ..you stomp all over the opposing teams flag in your dressing room after the game

like they did in salt lake city in 2002

  • Given that the legal drinking age in Alberta is 18, and they train mainly in Alberta, I'm not surprised they forgot the legal drinking age in British Columbia is 19. What did people expect they'd do after they won the gold, change into pretty dresses, eating watercress sandwiches and sip tea from a Royal Albert China tea cup? (Although if the local Ladies Aide Society were to invite them to a celebratory tea social, I suspect they would be completely at ease.

  • YAY to the GOLDEN GIRLS !!! ...Drink up, be merry....YOU DESERVE IT !!! ~_^

  • Canadians drining beer. Thats news?

  • This is a non-issue. Some people seriously need to get a life. Way to go ladies. Olympic gold!!! :o)

  • Who the fuck cares? Enjoy your gold girls! Guess it was prudent to save the blunts for later on, ha ha ha.

  • Who cares?! Really! Way to go WOMEN'S team.

  • all the fans had left the arena at this point, Typical moron press!!

  • i love lesbians especially hockey girls....

  • @Camal76 Canada is our hat.... America is our jockstrap

  • it is shame for my canada, is this the way we teach our kids to celebrate right on ice without any respect for the game. I so disappointed. shame on you:(

  • @AlhoudaTV NO WAY thats how we role in canada!

  • america is covered in shit and piss then.

  • well iw agree with alhoudaTV i wouldent wast my life by getting drunk and smoking thats just plane rertaeded

  • shame on you for your kids all commit suicide bombings at least our kids are taught to enjoy life.

  • first off all our kids and us love life more than what you do, and we know how to live freely away from all your shity life. We as canadians (not like you hater) are loved by all the world because we know how to respect and praise other people faiths and beliefs.

  • @ Alhouda TV tell me what is wrong with that picture? there is a responsible way to celebrate with beer, wine, cigars... and an unresponsible way. grats to Canada for doing it right. no one puking, getting naked... all that shit that gives partying a bad name. WAY TO GO CANADA!! you did well in my opinion.

  • if you what to celebrate then do it away from cameras because you are ruinning our image. we are known of our respect and tolerence. :) then, is it ok for our kids to drink and smoke after playing and wining a game like the 18yr old girl?

  • @AlhoudaTV get a life, their wasn't anyone in the arena at that time its not their fault ppl are nosy and take pictures so don't give them a hard time its not like it happens everyday to win a gold medal at the olympics

  • YES!!! why not? there are people that paint all of us with a broad brush stroke. i refuse to be judged the same as anyone else. i live my life to my own standards and if someone wants to judge me because other people party poorly then fine. i party clean. there was nothing wrong with how they celebrated. i would be happy if my kids celebrated like that. however, i am against getting drunk and all that other crap that gives partying a bad name.

  • @AlhoudaTV but it is ok... the 18 year old is from quebec and the legal drinking age there is 18... so lets make a big deal about it... obviously you never been in a locker room, only hockey fans and players can understand

  • These girls DESERVE to party HARD!

  • wtf there not even ugly. I though they bred chuwbacas out there

  • Jon Montgomery, drank a pitcher of beer walking down the street and no one said anything, take in account the fact our women team won 3 gold medals in 3 Olympics in a row, seems like a proper response celebration to me.

  • PARTY HARD CANADA!!!

  • yeah, this isn't going to lose their respect or backfire in any way.

  • At least they didn't take hits of a bong like Phelps!!!! SHUT UP ingnorant Americains THEY OWNED YOU hahahaha

  • are you guys fuckin dumb canada should apologize for shit thats what we do we win shit and we come first in everything and we pop bottles and smoke w.e the fuck we want and get money

  • LOL!!! At least they didn't take hits of a bong like Phelps!!!! got owned???

  • WOW! No class at all! This is embarrassing.

No wonder European woman don't play hockey, they just know how to act like ladies.

Guess after all this celebrations its back to the trailer park, hahaha

  • LOL!!! At least they didn't take hits of a bong like Phelps!!!! got owned???

  • @wildjunglecat get fuckin real...trailer park? compare europe morals to ours you are a fuckin goof...

  • Schneider ram it straight up to your temple if your only response (as a sore loser) is to default to misogynistic name-calling. Two Olympic victories for Canadian Women and Men's hockey! Canada Rocks!

  • @Schneider1010 sorry we can't hear you over the sound of how we won both the WOMEN and MEN hockey match.

  • I bett these dykes could KICK your ignorant ASS any time so FUCK YOU.... in your face.

At least they didn't take a hit off a water pipe like Phelps.....hahaha you suk

  • Vy they way dummy you should check the MENS HOCKEY SCORE TOO....ooops sucks to be you.

  • @ Schneider, I hope to god these women are dykes...They are so hott! I WANT AGOSTA <3

  • There Drinking Molson CANADIAN!!! DAMN RIGHT!!! CANADA ALL THA WAAAY!!!!

  • i have no problem with their celebrations , but come on that beer is like soda, canadian beer dont make me laugh ...

  • mrjugger: Nope.

    Blame Canada! :p

    Canada is America's hat.

  • These are not females.

    Blame Canada! :p

  • @Camel76 and you are an american fag

  • yeah were canadian and we drink beer. what wrong wiht that ??

  • i totally agree, it was a middle finger to america too...and i hope the canadian guys destroy the american upstarts ..

  • fucking jealous Americans.

your teams would celebrate the exact same way.

    GO CANADA!!!

  • but they wont win anything except the gay'er winter invents.

  • When you wear a national uniform you are representing your country, your people, your culture etc etc. It is like your are wearing your flag. Also they are wearing an olympic gold medal!. You must have respect for the rest COI. Yes you can celebrate with cigar, booze, but without uniform and medals. By the way, canada and usa teams are not good, the rest of the teams are really bad, this sport should be remove from the next olympics. It is a joke

  • Let me explain something, hockey is a tough game and They are tough girls.Tough girls drink beer and smoke cigars, did I miss something? In fact They are like "Clint Eastwoods" of sport, can you imagine Clint Eastwood with glass of milk or lollipop, I can't.

Should They do this at home, but wait a minute ice-rink is Their home. These girls spend there most time of Their lifetime.

And believe me it's not a funny game as it may seems on TV. It is a real war, so more RESPECT for Them please....

  • True, too true.... couldn't have said it better ziomasss.

  • i think this is the most beautiful thing in the world.. i played travel hockey for years here in canada and my dream when i played was to celebrate a gold medal win with a cold one at center ice........

    CONGRATZ LADIES you deserve it.

    CHEERS

  • so the women are in trouble because they smoked (which is legal) drank (which is legal) and celebrated (which is legal... i think?). Canada won on their home soil. Why not celebrate? no fans were present it was only some nosy reporters or whoever it was taking the pictures. U rly think they wouldnt have done this back at the hotel? Listen nothing was broken they wernt reckless they wernt wild so i ask you this... whats the big story? that they wernt drinking coors? Might as well drink water!

  • @micheleTheBull The big story is one of the women was under the legal drinking age in British Columbia AND instead of confining the celebration to the locker room, it spilled onto the ice.

  • disrespectful to whom? the idiots that think they get fame from being in a closed areana EH

  • disrespectful.

  • explain how?

  • the girls had the right to celebrate but not drinking with the Canada Team Jersey.

  • why they are showing who they are they are proud being canadian what the hell man are you american or canadian honestly theres nothing wrong stop complaining

  • you dickhead

  • I'm pretty sure Canada = Beer so what better way to celebrate than with a couple of cold ones at center ice!

  • drinking with Canadian Team uniform is disrespectful.

  • F____'n AAAAAAAA eh?

Those jealous peoples of our Canadian women sucks to be them. With the personal sacrifices any and all of the athletes from every country make to get to participate. I would expect the gloves to be dropped when the weight of competition is lifted. Win, lose or draw athletes competed on the worlds stage .And to celebrate however there custom requires. EH

  • TRAILER TRASH.

  • no fans were around so who gives a care.. WAY TO GO CANADA!!

  • wheres the Mary Jane at?

  • It's ok to for TV cameras to show men drink champagne in their changing room after winning the cup. What's the difference in the end. It's there for everybody to see.

  • @artisticgal1 That's the problem, they didn't confine it to the change room.

  • Does anyone really give a hard boiled fuck?

  • I'm an American and though I found this to be a little unprofessional, these girls ROCK. LoL!

  • So what a big deal? They have won and that's haw they celebrate the winning... Norwegian ski runners use anabolics in cover of astma and everythings fine... :/

  • Why, oh why, couldn't they just have put on pretty frocks and gone out for tea???

Yes, that drips with sarcasm - it's HOCKEY for Farqueson's sakes!!!

  • I agree...this is such a non-story. Good for them! You won gold; tear it up!!

  • I agree with both of you! This is B.S that such a big deal is being made over this!

  • So? The fans had left, wtf's the big deal

  • we all would probably do the same thing if we also won GOLD!
