i think in order to change our world things have to be made cheap most systems are made for people who have lots of money not all can aford these changes, plus those cisterns would be better above the land for direct use

Half of the water used in an American household goes to flushing the toilets. IF we all used composting toilets we would cut our water usage by half, eliminate the need to process black water and get valuable compost all from this simple change.

Harvesting rainwater is nice, and should definitely be done. But we also need to look at our usage.
