  • perfect

  • give me someone who doesnt know how to drum..and in two weeks ill have them playing this..

  • @abcdog350 Wouldnt it be better if you posted a video of yourself playing this?

  • @abcdog350 No, you won't.

  • @abcdog350 NEVER

  • Comment removed

  • yeah put a response video and we´ll see... even if you were better... i bet you cannot beat his manboobs XD

    XD

  • @sliberti dont be such a skeptic your probarly not that good either. everyone has thier weaknesses and strength

  • yeah ur completely right he's good but not great. neil peart is a good example of an INCREDIBLE drummer

  • @Gandophar He's good but if this guy's the best you've seen, you haven't seen to many drummers.

  • No offense but this is what I would expect from a 2nd or 3rd year player... needs a little work on dynamics and finesse.... typical stuff and way too dependent on the double pedal. Get in the shed....

  • @sliberti i know what you mean and there's nothing wrong with it...but maybe you can consider that it's just his style? even though i find the double bass peddle annoying after a while of just hitting those 8th notes...he probably thinks it sounds awesome...So yeah...just putting that out... and just in case i was wrong i wasnt exactly sure if they are 8th notes...im more of a technical player(guitar)...not much theory in my background...

  • @sliberti the best like to rely on double pedals portnoy adler hoglan peart. list goes on man

  • @sliberti and if ur referin to jazz thats a whole nother type of drumming cant compare the 2 completely different styles

  • madd respect to this guys double bass skill

  • @samoamoo the tempo does change..

  • man I'm sooooooooooooooo tired of people talking about them when they are pro's at this just because u can play doesn't mean that u can judge them on there work so shut the f*** up

  • there's too much portnoy in this solo

  • @MrGildenlow92

Is there really such a thing as TOO MUCH portnoy? like really.

  • @FarmerDawg10 yeah. there is

  • @MrGildenlow92

wow way to be negative about a perfectly good solo. Boner kill...

  • @sjman409 and you can do better? Dave has so much talent. So he didn't do a solo to your standards. Don't down talk his ability to teach.

  • @sjman409 my verdict: dickhead

  • Compared to the other two solos, this one is by far the worst, IMHO is pretty boring, and he also looked like he didn't want to do the solo.

  • How can you drum like that and still be overweight? This guy is great... just put the drumming stool farther away from the fridge dude

  • RRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOFL!

  • @kheywood

That's a really retarded comment dude. Really.

  • pretty good

  • i really idolize dave atkinson. i like the solo very much. pls give me a tip on how to do the fast double pedal beating

  • suyoplive

i'll give you the most hated answer

    and that is prectice

  • nossa esse kra é fã do mike portnoy tambem em copia tudo

  • Give the guy some credit come on now, i know he doesnt compare to portnoy or peart, but that was still a good solo.

  • I didnt like the way his left foot didnt even touch the hi-hat pedal.. Too much doubal pedal in there, would of been more impressive with some technical stuff in there

  • ha he just had to lose the drum stick at the end xD lol.

  • the snare sound is really muffling hate it

  • wat so how do you want it to sound like, huh? it sounds ok!

  • For me,.. I think a solo is showing on what you can do about the instrument your playing,.. it's not necessarily that you play on the beat,...as long as there is a groove on what you are playing.

  • Best solos ever are off time solos.. cause you can do whatever the heck you like LOL

  • is that sound pure or equalized?

  • he's not amazing it must be said :/ but still pretty cool

  • nice!

  • Like, the wrong one

  • For all the maestros here. A metronome is not required for a drum solo nor does the drummer need to follow a groove. That's why it's called a solo.

  • solos arent like playing songs, if you watch any instrument solo its just showin off what you can do, not how well you keep time for a band thats not playing with you at the moment

  • oh please... it's a drum solo...

  • I been drumming for over 20 years and, there is NOTHING wrong with this performance in my opinion. Keep up the great work Dave.

  • Love the new intro music.

  • nice double bass technique:)))

  • Good enough technically but I just can't "feel" it.

    Groove more, smash less imo!

  • thats what my dad says when i try to play a drum solo sometimes :) he helps me all lot!!

  • the drums are heavily compressed so even if he did play with feeling, we are not able to hear it. :)

  • Nice

  • HEY DAVE!

    Get a metronome.

  • dude i know!
