Jim Ward should be really proud of the first few songs on Porcelain. They're just as good, if not better, than anything The Mars Volta have done post At the Drive In
I hate when people talk about sparta tmv and atdi always comes into the question. i love all of those band, and tbh, probably the volta the most, but i think people should separate the bands when they listen to them. there all amazing.
I like Sparta, but I still like The Mars Volta better. Then again, I'm a big fan of Progressive rock and experimental music, so my ears may be more accustomed to their strangeness.

A friend said they sound like the Cribs, an English band Johnny Marr (from the Smiths) recently joined. I was wary of the comparison til I heard "We Share The Same Skies." Both great bands, and I don't one rips off the other... but dude, if you read this, I get the comparison.

These guys rock, and the interpol comparison is about as way off as any ive heard, i think of early cursive (such blinding light for such starving eyes which split into criteria and current cursive line-ups) cursive split to the experimental which has served well for them just as tmv has after ATDI, and Sparta and Criteria went melodic, well written, and under appreciated cuz they still dont have mainstream sense-abilities as sell-outs, see them live and theyll change your mind, total energy

I hate when people talk about sparta tmv and atdi always comes into the question. i love all of those band, and tbh, probably the volta the most, but i think people should separate the bands when they listen to them. there all amazing.

I like Sparta, but I still like The Mars Volta better. Then again, I'm a big fan of Progressive rock and experimental music, so my ears may be more accustomed to their strangeness.

A friend said they sound like the Cribs, an English band Johnny Marr (from the Smiths) recently joined. I was wary of the comparison til I heard "We Share The Same Skies." Both great bands, and I don't one rips off the other... but dude, if you read this, I get the comparison.

These guys rock, and the interpol comparison is about as way off as any ive heard, i think of early cursive (such blinding light for such starving eyes which split into criteria and current cursive line-ups) cursive split to the experimental which has served well for them just as tmv has after ATDI, and Sparta and Criteria went melodic, well written, and under appreciated cuz they still dont have mainstream sense-abilities as sell-outs, see them live and theyll change your mind, total energy

tmv is a great experimental band
sparta was a great emo band
