  • You did a good job! Did you glue it or tie a knot to secure it?

  • turned out pretty good! any suggestions on doing the ones in the back? i've tried mirrors and what not... maybe there's another trick

  • @xbox360gamerchick The back was harder. Rem., it does not have to be perfect. But my advice would be take your time parting, I really made sure to find a size I liked and kept with it. I began from the nape of my neck up to the crown of my head. So from the bottom up. I braided this way so that the hair would not be in my way as I braided upward.

  • @xbox360gamerchick Good luck!

  • I`m really in luv with it finna try mine in 3 more days

  • @Alexis1Agee How did it go??

  • Good job for your first try cute.....

  • @YNOBE22280 Thanks!

  • u did really good lil mamma

  • @gadamned123 Thanks!

  • watching your video made me got to the beauty salon and bought 3 bags of toyokalon hair and start box braiding my hair. This will be my 2nd time doing them, but i must say it's turning out better the second time around. I'm taking me time and moving slow so that eack braids looks decent. I'm not giving myself a deadline because i don't want to rush. will tell you how it came out after i finish.

  • Very nice, great job!

  • @Creshia11 Thank you!!!

  • Those look really good! Looks like a professional did it. Isn't it great when you can do your own braids and save money?

  • @NegritaTanRica Yes, saving money is the business!

  • You did a great job!!! Makes me miss my braids

  • lol gurl.

    you are soo funny.

you said, the weave is synthetic cuz i aint want to waste no money.

im the same way. and i feel you on how its just fun to braid, even if you really dnt know wht your doing or its yur 1st time.

im just learning and i juss did my 1st 2 cornrowstoday and i had been trying for 2 yrs. YOU BECOME SUPRISED IN YOURSELF WHEN YOU PUT EFFORT FORWARD. but you will catch on, if you didnt already.

    i enjoyed watching you.

    sexyTAH

  • gurl u did good! i remember when i first braided my own hair. lately i've been thinking about doing the top of my head and sides and back in micro then the middle have weave.

  • How packs of hair does it take for this hairstyle?

  • Practice makes Perfection you will never know what you can and can't do untill you try! You doing this for the first time is not bad as you think your doing :)

  • Hey i feel i jus did my own braids I refuse to pay some one 230 bucks for something I can learn to do my myself. It's funny though cause my parts came out just like yours but hey aint nobody gonna be lookin at the back of ur head anyway I just made sure when it came time for me to do the front that my parts were correct...But good job though they came out good

  • GOOD JOB. I'm learning too. My mother-in-law is gonna let me practice on her. The nubian twists look really easy too.

  • Good job.. me too.. I love the vids on here.. they help a lot.

  • lovely video, girl

  • pretty nice? those are gorgeous! makes me wanna try lol

  • okay so, i have a suggestion for you guys...

i reccomend that you just dip it in boiling water. It is best to use synthetic hair for braids like this so that the hair will melt into place. you can also curl it by rolling the ends with a plastic roller as you would nomal hair and then you just do the same thing. Burning the ends isn't as good because they dont look as natural and they kinda hurt becasue you can scratch your self on accident. if you have any questions you can e-mail me.

  • You did good girl! I do my own hair too, and I'm learning too

  • You Really did Pretty good. Nice

  • @compgirl1522 Thank you. Are you trying to do your own braids?

  • I don't think I would be able to sit and do my whole head, I was thinking about getting it braided for my birthday. but i had braids before and I know sometime they pull out the edges of your head. So im looking around to see what size braids are good, and maybe what good brand of hair to buy also. but You really did a great job and i know that must have took some time - Smile

  • @MuahKissKiss Great job I'm going to try it, I'm a Cosmo student, and I did about one or two in my hair just to teach myself. But I am going to do my entire head.

  • I love this video....lol I totally agree with u.....I'm learning to do it on my own too!!!

  • @ladyprettyme I know thats right. Saving money is so crucial now-a-days. Every little bit helps.

  • They look nice! you are cute too! I have a question, when you braid the hair down, what do you do to secure it from unraveling?

  • @reader24 Thank you! I braided each braid about 3 or 4 inches past where my hair stopped. I was afraid to put glue in my hair and I'm not really good with the knotting technique. If a braid unraveled I would just re-braid it. But only about 2 or 3 unraveled ( I braid pretty tight) which I didn't mind.

  • for ur first time u did an awsome job!!! i'm about to do mine for the first time too in a couple days and now u got me motivated lol :) But great job and i hope mine comes out as good as urs did. oh and i love the wavy look, very cute <3

  • Thanks!!!! Well keep me posted hopefully you can post a vid or send me pics of how they came out. Yup I liked the curly hair also!

  • your first time?

    thats amazing!

my first time was a mess....

  • Lol...well u know what they say, practice makes perfect. I still jack up cornrows. lol...

  • That is pretty good for a first time! Keep at it.

  • Thanks! Yeah I will keep at it, but I got to get the time, b/c it takes a while.

  • Your hair was really pretty for your first time braiding. I did my hair for the first time in individuals, and coiled the ends using kanekalon hair to save some money of course.

  • Oh wow! How did that turn out? I am going to braid my hair up again probably in February and I will post another vid. But not sure what hair to use.

  • which hair did you got? natural? can you give me the name? thank you, and i do my head for the 1st time there is 3 month...

i re do it the last week with wet and wavy hair (i stardted with synthetic, and now i go to natural!)

so girl, tell me now if you're a pro!!!!

  • Pretty damn good for your first time hun!! Im bout to braid my own hair for the first time too!!

  • Thanks! How did your hair turn out?

  • You did an awesome job! No one seeing ur hair would think its ur 1st attempt.very pretty.

  • That's the best part about doing it yourself you can always hide the imperfections!

  • Yea mine came out alot better than I expected actually!! So glad I gave it a try, im done spending 200+ to get my hair done!!

  • Girl I did them and it took me 13 hours!!! I will post a video on how they look!

  • Love's it! I can't wait to try to do my own hair now!!

  • I hope you post a video response I would love to see the finished product!

  • By the way, how long did it take you?

  • Yeah some of my friends have asked. And now I do my mothers hair all the time. And it took me awhile b/c I did not do it all at once. I was on black folk time. So it took me an entire day. But if I would count it all together maybe around 6hours.

  • OMG!! I am so proud of you!!! I wanna try it now! One question though...Do you get ppl asking you to do their hair now? lol

  • it is actually nice.i think there is some sort of slipknot you do to the braid to make it stay./

  • Yup I did my best on recreating a slipknot to give the hair extra hold.

  • looks nice

  • You did a great job! I'm trying to learn how to braid my own hair myself! I ended up paying a friend to do mine though. I got the deep body wave synthetic too! It's actually really nice! I just comb it every day and put curl activator on it and I'm good to go! I posted a video response to show you my braids

  • Hey, I was wondering what did you do with the ends of your braids afterwards, like when you would go to bed??

  • I sealed the ends in hot water. You may need an assistant for that part. Just make one or two big braids and have someone dip your ends into hot water.

  • Yay! I see that it turned out great. I have been watching videos as well and I might do me some braids too...maybe some kinky twist.

  • Girl I don't even know you and I'm so proud of you!!! lol. you make me wanna give it a try!!!

  • LOL!!! Well then go head girl! And post a video too!!!!

  • Good Job! You can save so much money!

  • well done! im about to try for the first time too how long did it take you?

    x

  • Well, I was on black folk time. I did a little here and there. But if I had sat down and did it all at once it would of taken 6 or 7 hours b/c when I first started I braided the back of the hair all the way down to the ends. But the middle/front I left loose with a small knot.

  • u did so good for your first time.. practice make perfect

  • That is how you learn by practicing. Congrats in your attempt. Looking good.

    Stay Blessed

  • wonderful job! u did great! :)

  • Thanks so much!

  • U did a great job! Its soo pretty! Im practicing with braiding my own hair like that as well. I hope the next time I try it it turns out like yours ^_^

  • Thanks, and yeah practice is everything. I have to wait a while before I will be able to braid my hair again. I cut out all the perm so its really short. When it grows back out, I think I will try kinky twist.

  • I am trying 2 decided weather I want 2 put some individuals in my own hair I am like you I am not a professional but I don't know yet because I want it to be pretty but yours turned out good.

  • I think you should try it. I mean no one will know if they turn out wack unless you do a video...lol...if you don't like how it turns out, try again. One trick is covering each braid with another braid, so that the scalp does not show, this will give you a fuller look.

  • hey does the hair you used get tangled alot??

  • No not at all...it was very good quality...and cheap...no one believed it was synthetic.

  • hey i'm trying to learn how to braid... i love your video.. you seem so sweet... anyways your hair looks awesome, you did a fabulous job!

P.s I'm so jealous of your eyes....get um!!!

  • Your hair came out absolutely beautiful!! Great job!

  • You did an amazing job, your hair turned out beautiful! The first time I braided my hair my braids were a lot thicker and I got blisters on my fingers!

  • Owch! I put a little gel and water on my fingers before I did the braid, that added a little moisture. And Thanks so much!!!!

  • Rock On Baby!

  • aww girl i lubb u l=ove ur personality and ur a beauty im braiding my hair this week also thanks luv .

  • wow you did a great job I think I am gonna try that

  • very nice:)
