By making the file PSD, you are assuming everyone has PS.

A layered Photoshop file is simply the best and easiest way to work with projects like this, for all parties involved. It's as simple as that, it is why it's an industry standard. Btw the free "the gimp" program can also read and write PSD files, so I am not limiting this to only those who can afford PS.

Try "The gimp" it's free and powerful like photoshop (though IMHO a bit more awkward to use, but the price is right ;) ) it'll even read/write photoshop files
