Doesn't the drumming rhythm sound like the beginning of the Dr. Who theme? Maybe that's what the Master is hearing. Maybe his perception has broken the fourth wall. Voodoo Child is the title of 2 songs by Jimi Hendrix, both appearing on the Electric Ladyland album. One is a 15 minute blues jam and pretty cool in it's own right, but the other, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), is one of the greatest rock songs of all time and was one of Hendrix's biggest hits. When you hear someone say "voodoo child," that's almost always the song they're referring to.
