@Jiminibobster The BC Rich Mockingbird. That is one of the original versions of the mockingbird, they were really good guitars but they started making shitty versions of them
I like the part where slash asks the guy "why don't you guys make re-issues of the JCM's" and the guy goes "well we do it's still technically in production blah, blah" then slash goes "yeah well, the way these are made they had a certain kind of thing to them..."
2 different versions of the same amp...why not make them the same
Buy a 900 dollar jcm send it to me ill charge you 200 to mod it and youll save yourself the extra 2k marshall is going to charge for this thing....and ill even write Slash's name on it for you...ill write my name on it if you want
@kjaj12345 thats what I thought. the seymour duncan alnico 2's that slash used are very thin sounding in certain amps. You almost have to have big meaty tubes like 6550's, 6L6's, and kt 88's to have any bottom end with those pickups.
It was a JCM 800 modded by Tim Caswell, the number 39 mod, which he will still do for you today. Buy an 800, get Tim to mod it for you and give the guy that deserves the credit some cash.
Wow..that was a waste of time. "let's build a tube screamer/mxr/other circuit into the front end to give it a boost".. sounds just like what was done to the second generation JCM800's or the jubilee. Marshall sure is dragging out the process here just to have something on the site every week. As for the masters, there is already a welcome to the jungle more or less isolated track on youtube, how far behind are these guys? Maybe Marshall should hire me to help with R & D :)
Thats exactly wut i said. It seems I know more about the stinking original amp than marshall... which is sad. Its just a Caswell Modded 1959 SLP tremolo with the #39 mod on it... btw I remember seeing a diagram of the circuitry on a website... i think it was Caswells.
i was thinking the same thing. that welcome to the jungle video gave me a whole new perspective on Slash's actual tone. Goes to show that Izzy was a major contributor to GnR's sound.

@Daluzmmania89 nah i use those in my guitars, and my marshall stacks are solid state. and the pickups still sound killer. esp the bridge.

it's funny how the techs react to slash. He's not technically knowledgeable it seems, but they pay no mind to what he's saying!
