  • Led Zepplin made a living out of ripping off old blues rifs and commercializing them. Black Sabbath brought black magic to young people. They are conversing with dark side, the very real, very dangerous dark side, and how you see them is all relative to what you have experienced. LZ was entertainment, this is transcendent. As a child I went from listening to Willie Nelson and Kenny Rogers to listening to this when I got to be about 12 and it was a total transformation of consciousness.

  • lol, ozzy has a double chin

  • Best audio quality yet from this concert back in '70.

  • the solo gave me goosebumps

  • A melhor dos Sabbaths

  • I love this song

  • EPIC

  • Black Sabbath without Ozzy sucks.

    Ozzy without Black Sabbath sucks.

  • BLACK SABBATH!

  • I'm a big Zep fan AND a Black Sabbath fan. I've always hated this bitchy back and forth about these two bands. There's no reason for it, except for a few negative comments by John Paul Jones, and I respect the guy but seriously, who gives a fuck? Page never said anything derogatory, and fuck, Plant and Bonham were FRIENDS with these guys! Come on people! Two absolutely incredible bands...no doubt about it (and both very impressive live, no matter what anyone here says). No more bickering!

  • @mielazul I agree with most of that, but I have read Plant being very sniffy about Sabbath in a couple of interviews. How he and Bonham used to 'lob vegetables' at BS gigs. Nevermind, two great bands (though I've always preferred Sabbath).

  • "You give credit where credit is due"

  • First time I ever heard B.S.1 was also first time L.S.D.{ Orange Sunshine} Imagine that !

  • cool version !

    check our cover:

    watch?v=E197m7gDm4U

  • TERRIBLE!

    *MIKE SPENCE.

  • The best rock band in the 70's

  • @LordWindson

I love 'em, but they're not better than Zep.

  • @sluv2600 I prefer them. Led Zep were the better musicians and singers for sure but Black Sabbath is more real and more fuck off to everyone else. I mean they're four lads who grew up a few streets apart in a very very tough and rough part of Birmingham who made it huge and created a new music genre in the process. You don't get more legendary than that!

  • @Selecta88 Led Zep grew up under the same conditions in the same city...

  • @alec12 No they didn't. Do some research. Page grew up in Epsom in Surrey, which is nowhere near Birmingham geographically or any other way you can think of. John Paul Jones grew up in Kent, which is nowhere near Birmingham geographically or any other way you can think of. Plant and Bohnam grew up in the West Midlands area but not the city of Birmingham. They didn't all meet each other until they were in their twenties.

  • @Selecta88 zep aint got shit on sabbath they didn't create nothing but shitty live performances and folk crap.

  • @BehindTheWallOfDoom hey that's your opinion asshole. To me you can't compare the two bands.

  • If Doom Metal was born with the song Black Sabbath, then Heavy Metal was born with this song.

  • @PisauraXTX No, it was born with the song "Into the Void".

  • This song is an official Rock Church selection. Check our profile for more information. Rock bless you.

  • STRAIGHT PEOPLE WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND

  • @valhooligan68 queers understand though , right ?

  • It seems nowdays Ozzy always screams when singing. This performance is so smooth and focused unlike the latter era.. His singing comes out without strain great!

  • Geezer and Bill, the best rythm section ever. Tight and heavy as hell. Ulrich & Trujillo of Metallica should watch and learn.

  • Only Sabbath Could Do This, Thanks For Posting Man, --SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO CABRONES, ROLEN LA MOSTAZA¡¡¡¡¡---

  • there is been 40years. Its scarres me

  • Ozzy is a good singer, at least he was.

  • 25 people disliking this is way to many.

  • bill and geezer FTW

  • holy shit... ozzy then compared to now. thats what drugs will do to you kids

  • @Flinty88 I think he is largely disabled in his speech due to the stroke he had in the early 90s rather than drugs. Although the stoke may have been due to cocaine.

  • Wes...you fucking rock bro...keep posting vids! \m/

  • 25 people didn't like this? Fanny holes all of them!

  • awesome song and video.. why does everyone spell his name Toni?? its Tony

  • \m/_

    rock!!!

  • I wish Ozzy still had his fucking voice! He so rocks!

His solo carrer is awesome btw! xD

BLACK SABBATH AND OZZY OSBOURNE 4 LIFE! \o/

  • this rocks!!!!!!

  • amazing old video!

  • That, is a bludgeoning riff...............

  • SABBATH 4 LIFE!!!!!!!

  • Toni Iommi is the definition of coolness

  • Great song.

  • Toni Iommi, it's amazing how he shreds and wails out in almost every sabath song, but he looks so chill!

  • Toni is great. Especialy for a guitarist that lost tips of 2 fingers.

  • @Natalie78644 How did he do that? It's the first I've heard of it! :o

  • @Suddiefats and lets not forget the 4 prosthetic , home made finger tips he had due to his metal shop accident !!..and still played the most unforgettable guitar riffs in the history of metal !

  • reminds me of way back when doin way too much, it was great

  • love

  • I missed seeing these guys in the early '70's because my father was concerned with the name of the band. He would not allow me to go to the concert when they came through our city. He did allow me to go to other concerts though, he even saw Grand Funk Rail Road with us in 1972.

  • hahaha. my dad didnt let me go to a led zeppelin concert when they came to san antonio in 1973,(i was 16) and he let me go to a black sabbath concert when i was 17. man i miss those days

  • so you are 19 as your profile says ;)

  • no. im 52 years old, i dont know why its says 19

  • abe91195 is my sons account but he is 17, i think

  • that is real ozzy, pure doom , rock, metal

    a little bit of jazz

  • Words cannot describe how perfect Black Sabbath is. :)

  • @zeppelin8675309 you has just did that :)

  • @zeppelin8675309 Yes they can. well not THEY but yes IT can. Perfect .

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Black Sabbath, one of my favorites since i was nine years old. Ozzy was on it in those days.......i kinda hate what he's become. I really love what he was.

  • No conceited headup their own ass pretenders here. Sulphurous. Genuine. Awsome.

  • Adorei a indicação. Essa é uma das melhores músicas, do melhor disco, da melhor banda de rock de todos os tempos.

    Direto p/ meus favoritos...

    Obrigado.

  • This songs sounds the absoutly best on a vinyl. Just listen to it you know that's how you get that awsome studio playback.

  • Done a bit of rock clilmbing wasnt that high to me anyway put this on ma sound box wow it really makes you alive braw.

  • Before you know

  • so hevy man

  • this is one of the best songs and performances on the planet

  • Wow! I remember riding in my buddy's '69 Charger - he just got the 8-track of this album. I heard this song and it blew my mind! Still love it pushin 60.

  • My name is Lucifer, please take my hand

  • I remember when one of my sister's friends had be play Black Sabbath's 1st album and it was on N.I.B. they guy singing along changed words from follow me now to follow us now to reflect how he feels about things.

  • Lucifer/Morning Star is an inspiration for agrarians all over the world for thousands of years.

Crowley? LOL what a pussy he and his lineage have proven to be

  • Love this song since I first heard it.

    Classic band man.

    Oh yeah!

  • haha Oh yeah!

  • wish i was alive in those days!

  • it doesn't stand for Nativity In Black they named it after (i forgot who's but)Geezer Butler or Bill Wards beard because it looked like the nib from the pen then they put periods between the letters hence the name N.I.B

  • bill ward

  • Cocaine for All.

  • I wish I could start a Sabbath tribute band that only performed the first album!!

  • Now theres a damn fine idea...considering the vocals and guitar tone were at thier best on that album its not a bad idea....finding the musicians who can do justice musically and tone wise would be another issue.

  • Do it! Call it NIB!

  • ...need a bass player?

  • Fricking perfect perfomance!!!! It's even better than the studio version, lml Black Sabbath

  • I had what good rock was like!!!!!

  • Paris 1970 Concert is the Best.

  • it must be. most of the sabbath live vids are from that concert

  • I was 12 in 1974. This band scared the Hell into me! I've been in radio for nearly 30 years...anybody that can step up with this kind of swagger can change the world....don't hear any candidates as of late!

  • you are so right music sucks now in comparison.

  • this seems to be a very popular concert on utube. half of the live sabbath vids ive seen on here say paris 1970.

  • Just... Freakin'...Awesome!!!!!!!!

Rock doesn't get much better than this...

  • Uma Musica Muito Lokaaaaaaaaa

  • best live performers ever!! just great

  • NIB...genious :P

  • I love all types of music, and literally all types, except for hip-hop, rap, pop, and disco. I listen to death metal, classical, folk, blues, and others, and I could care less if this comment is turned down. My favortite band is Pink floyd just so i can get minus points and to increase I will go on to say that Bruce Springsteen is a great writer, and the new system of a down, slipknot, and linkin park is better in their older stuff is terrible. I mean every word I just said.

  • I like Pink Floyd with Syd Barrett. I like the first two Blue Cheer records which came out two years before Sabbath

  • till atom heart mother and wish you were here

1967-1970 Pink Floyd Ummagumma space rock best ever

  • Blue cheer were an excellent band with that heavy SG guitar tone however their recordings sounded dated and almost basement like whereas Black Sabbaths first and second albums (recorded in 69' and 70') are far more cleaner and punchier with vocals that ended up being the equivalent of a "third instrument" (at least on those two albums)...its virtually impossible to find a teen thats never heard of Black Sabbath, this is due to each generation falling in love with that stuff all over again.

  • Righteous post! Ozzie's vox can be hypnotic and engaging in a way Blue Cheer's falsetto singer could never match. Plus Sabbath's mystique and supernatural/sci-fi lyrics elevate them to a whole other level of badassery.

  • SHUT THE FUCK UP

  • Why should I?

  • Comment removed

  • I LOve all kinda music !

R&B , ROCK , HIp Hop , Heavy metal i dont give a fuck what other ppl say , look if you got a problem i'vegot 2 words for ya FU-CK YA

  • haha i hear ya dude its all good

  • hes right R & B used to actually be Rhythm and Blues and there were some awesome R& B groups back then, cream, the who even played some R & B anyways Hip hop and rap are fucking gay i bang this bitch can you give me a hitch i shot this fuck he looked like a duck I sold some drugs the chick was a hooker can the cops really bookher?
  • Hahahaha, so true bro!

  • If you play this backwards I bet it's full of messages of love and piety.

  • Bloody amazin

  • what means nib?!!Black sabbath is best!

  • The title refers to drummer Bill Ward's beard. The band called him "Nibby" because they thought it looked like the nib on the end of a pen (Ozzy came up with the nickname when he was stoned). Says Geezer Butler: Originally it was Nib, which was Bill's beard. When I wrote N.I.B., I couldn't think of a title for the song, so I just called it Nib, after Bill's beard. To make it more intriguing I put punctuation marks in there to make it N.I.B.

  • haha cheers mate. top info

  • but some people think it stands for Nativity in Black

  • i think this isone of there best songs

  • i have this entire concert on dvd :)

  • black sabatth for ever N.I.B. its cool

  • You say 50Cent-I Say The Beatles

DON'T LET THE SPIRIT OF CLASSIC ROCK DIE!!!

  • Spamming that obnoxious bullshit everywhere will do nothing for the spirit of rock 'n roll.

  • Mister chain letter guy. I don't think it's rap we have to worry about it's that new emo shit that's out. It's Taking over man. i actually heard someone say "The beatles suck and Devil wears parada is better" and i almost had a bitch fit KEEL THE EMO BANDS!

  • haha Devil wears parada sucks ass. fucking beatles kick ass speically the shit they did in the 60's some trippy shit man.

  • HELL YEAH

  • You fail, The Who was an R&B band in the beginning

  • don't believe em, ozzy... and don't doubt now in your old age, you were right

  • "my name is lucifer please take my hand."

    so who needs backwards masking??

no need to damage your record players playing this record in reverse.

    and he said it twice!

  • Your point? The lyrics were all written by Geezer Butler on this Album and song. And he was interested in many readings about black magic and cult doesnt mean they practiced it. and plus i have backtracked all there albums and nothing has been heard just Stairway to heaven. They had lyrics like this mostly due to how much the attention they would get from it. The media would be like OMG SATAN BAND IN ENGLAND. so poeple would see or read that on the tv or newspapers and say I gota see these guys.

  • Yea the song Black Sabbath is about dark figure geezer saw one night while tripping on acid or something like that.

  • I know the guy.He visited me ,too, but I didn't have the sense to write a song about it.Dammit.

  • fgdfjhgdnm

  • dude the first VH album was 1978...VH2 was 1979, and Women and Children First was 1980....There were plenty of killer riffs on each of those 3 albums. And yes...a few filler tracks that were queer. But all in all EVH rocked as heavy as anyone back in the day!

  • the 1978 are the eighties dude!

  • i'm still convinced jimi was an alien sent from outer space to help us humans advance musically.

  • wtf does that have to do with black sabbath?

  • i am going to listen to some nirvana

  • Comment removed

  • Nice post Shawn! I'm a major Sabbath freak with Iommi being my God as I'm a guitar player but I loved your comment on Peart and Ward being big in your book! I love to listen to Sabbath and to just focus on Ward's work sometimes. Same thing for Rush! Peart is amazing. My drain is bed right now :) but same thing for the drummer for Iron Maiden:) Nice post friend! Oh ya!
