  • I think that light could travel quicker or slower if we change the properties of space. Space is the medium in which light travels, like for sound is air. If we change the density of air, the speed of sound changes. Maybe they have changed in accelerator the properties of space and neutrinos could travel quicker as officially allowed. They should firstly study the space, what space really is, how electromagnetic waves are transported trough space.

  • @kantrzyn space is nothing, it's just vacuum that have no density, no mass, no length, no area, it's just nothing. The object we seen are reflect by light or produce light so we can see them, you can't touch or see space. Unlike sound or air, they do have density, etc.

  • @AlexSofwareEngineer

nothing is nothing an people have trouble to imagine nothing, maybe nothing is beyond our universe, or maybe even there is something . Space is space, we could measure space, we could travel trough it, light travels trough it, space around gravitational fields deviates, even gravitation travels with light speed trough space, space was created in the Big Bang, space is something as vacuum is something but we do not what exact it is.

  • @AlexSofwareEngineer

Furthermore vacuum has energy. Vacuum energy is an underlying background energy that exists in space even when the space is devoid of matter (free space). They are vacuum fluctuations created as particle/antiparticle pairs. Probably they comes from other dimension. The string theory predict 11 or more dimensions in our universe.

  • the world is a game of chess , the other side is god with his uncertainity

  • @purushpsm147 There is no god, please.

  • Nope Einstein was not wrong, he only said that time travels at the speed of light

  • @magmasceptre It's astounding how wrong you are, on multiple levels too. Actually, what you said makes no sense at all.

  • @magmasceptre No, he did said that there is nothing can travel faster than speed of light in this universe.

  • so a related video on the right "how to get the perfect tan" smh

  • So time travelling, huh?

    Backwards of forwards? or both?

  • Einstein Spend the last years of his life obsessing over the fact he had missed something and nobody has really added to his work since he died despite the fact it was well known it was unfinished. Maby we are about to stumble upon one of the big things he missed out. Only time will tell.

  • @escapenewjersey Amen.

  • @EscapeNewJersey sorry to tell you man but gods not real :/ grow up.

  • @EscapeNewJersey

    It's a shame God doesn't exist isn't it?

  • He does exist look up laminin if you dont believe

  • Isn't it true that the string theory predicts the existence of particles faster than light itself? These particles were given the name of tachyon. Isn't possible that neutrinos and tachyons are the same particles? Isn't possible that neutrinos are not affected by time-space dilation? If this was to be true, the neutrinos would seem to travel way faster than light closer to a star or a black hole.

  • Reversed Speed of light broken by neutrinos at CERN

    youtube. com/watch?v=yMHq6GLOK_U

  • ok, i understand how space is effected but how is time affected? can someone plz eplain that to me?

  • Go to warp nine Mr Data.

  • so star wars was right all along :D

  • FUCKING JEWS...LIARS LIKE HISTORY TAUGHT US

  • einsten's theory and formula paved the way for nuclear bombs..i wonder what these crazy scientists are upto now..dont they see how devastating weapons have been developed from this particle physics research..i guess neutrino bomb is the next weapon and jews are gonna target earth from mars, claiming their complete control on earth..If atom bomb is ninetails, neutrino bomb is the JUBI dont you see it. And everyone knows they want it, so let the research go on!! SOON WE ARE ALL GONNA BE SLAVES!!

  • @kooooldj just loved how you correlated physics with Naruto. LOL

  • @kooooldj Lol nice Naruto logic lololol!

  • @kooooldj yes. definetly. jews are using 'neutrino bombs' from mars to rule the earth. bullshit. are you actually reading what you're typing?

  • @kooooldj Hurr, where does jews come in the picture?

  • Tesla ! was right godammit

  • Moral of the story: you should not fix the speed of light before it is broken.

  • Correct Statement 100% bcz at this time only we just started exploring the nature .there are many things that travel much faster than speed of light and as for light speed is concerned its a very fraction of that. only the thing required is the research. and everything in this world is going to be done in a very proper way and by Rule and without it there is nothing i can give u a prof of that.

  • Maybe the neutrino oscillates around light-speed, going above and below it, like it oscillates in flavor and thus in energy.

  • Sarah Palin disliked the video 3 times.

  • Faster than light has been predicted in The Theory Of Invariance:

    youtube.com/watch?v=IJAqw8MRD0Q

  • If this is proven true I will run outside screaming "HOLY JUMPING FUCKING JESUS!" Do you realise what this means? Dreams that were so far away would suddenly be within our reach. Time travel, deep space explorations..... Good God I tear up just thinking about it...

  • @adeb0017 me too.. :D I can't wait to go to the past and tell me what not to do in the time that is coming.. :D

  • @adeb0017 Same here :DDD But I am skeptical of time travel :S It would be very bad to travel back in time and mess things up forever :O

  • @topas12345 How do you know you can mess things up if you were able to travel back in time? Maybe nature only allows you to see the past and not change it. No matter what you do to change the past nature prevents you from doing it!

  • @ricomajestic It's possible =) But personally I cant see any reason why it would be like that.

Because if you travel back in time, the future you was in doesn't really exist, because it haven't happened yet, so the changes you would do would allow the past to keep going in the direction you set it too.

It might also be possible that there are many ''dimensions'' where every dimension is different from the others, so that it already have happened, just in another dimension.

  • In your face light lets see you try an outrun me motha fucka

  • A common misunderstanding in Special Relativity is the confusion between an observed velocity (which SR treats and cannot exceed c) and a clocked velocity, which may exceed c.

  • @SuperMagnetizer whateva you say bud..

  • Adding a new dimension is a beautiful birthing process, so effortless and free.

You can add dimensions while folding the laundry or even while taking out the trash.

Stuck in traffic? It's new dimension adding time!

Straightjacket too tight? Well hello, you need a new dimension!

There's something irresistable, they have the invisibility thing going them, which is so hot I can't even begin to describe.

Created a new dimension today? Reward yourself with a fine consumer product!

  • So what does this mean?

  • that thasn't mean einstien make mistake ... the neutrinos find another way "dimention" .. is not breaking the speed of light..

  • Subhan'Allah

  • It is time for HUMANITY to unite, and advance science and build our race to an interplanetary and interstellar civilization. NOW!!!!!!!!

  • @serpentphoenix First, we must unify in a way of peace and not slavery. To reveal these truths to everybody, and allow them to become in tune with the inner world. Otherwise, we will go out into the cosmos the same way we go to othe countries...

  • And Man said:

Let us build ORION Star-Ships , so that we may venture forth out into the Heavens, take unto us the multitude of worlds for our own, lest we allow ourselves to perish on the Earth.

  • assuming the speed of light is constant and not increasing

  • Relativity only requires a maximum speed. If it's not the speed of light and just some other speed, the theory is not affected. We already know from experiment that relativistic physics is correct within high accuracy.

  • FOR THE RELIGIOUS PEOPLE. GOD CREATED US IN HIS IMAGE. HE CREATED OUR UNIVERSE. WITH AN UNIMAGINABLE AMOUNT OF GALAXIES EACH ONE HAVING BILLIONS AND BILLIONS OF SOLAR SYSTEMS LIKE OUR SOLAR SYSTEM. SO GOD MUST HAVE CREATED A WAY FOR US TO EXPLORE HIS UNIVERSE. HE HAS GIVEN US THE KLNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO FIGURE THIS OUT. NOW WE MUST EXCEPT THAT GOD WANTS THE HUMAN RACE TO EMBRACE THIS NEW KNOWLEDGE WE HAVE LEARNED.THIS I BELIEVE IS GODS NEXT STEP FOR MANKIND.

  • i read that in an article some weeks ago.now scientics r gonna create anti matter.aka..antiprotons of very low energy(ELENA experiment)cern is awesome...they created an artificial black hole...they proved that light is NOT the fastest(photons)and now they ll analyse and understand how matter apperas(beeing born)and dissapeares in universe and in our evryday life.not to mention also that cern helped and helping nanotechonolgy favtor(nanotechonoly is the key to never die)

  • Like they always say laws/rules are meant to be broken. :)

  • Time Travel is still impossible because any moment in time is an arrangement of matter and the flow of time is the movement of that matter, so to create the past you would literally have to reconstruct it. Also getting neutrinos to move faster than light is a different prospect from getting atoms to move at the speed of light. Chances are anything made up of atoms would fly apart.

Light and energy are both matter, not magic, and that other forms of matter can move faster shouldn't be surprising

  • @Laughingblades ... You're no fun ! Time Travel is possible. Time travel into the future is correct in theory. Time travel into the past is a little more difficult. You said that for one to travel into the past, one would have to recreate the past. Not right. One would just have to enter into the past via a short cut through the fabric of space and time. Worm holes and faster than the speed of light travel are theoretical methods to accomplish this.

  • @ZYRADIA Except time is conceptual, time travel isn't what's actually happening, what's happening is the movement of matter. To travel into the past it would have to be physically recreated because the past was an arrangement of matter that no longer exists, there is no past to travel to, all of the matter that made up the past is busy making up the present and the flow of time is merely the transition of that matter.

  • I would find it easier to believe that c got faster/ is getting faster, although still a constant to all observers and a limit to the speed of a particle, than to believe that particles can go faster than the speed of light and for E = mc^2 to be wrong and for time travel to be possible.

  • Look, this hasn't been verified yet. In 4-6 months a lab in London is going to get a more accurate test executed and then we will see. And by the way, tidal bulges/ the position of the moon were not taken into consideration during CERN's experiment which could've affected the data. I'll believe it when they have a viable formula like Einstein did.

  • @VballVelociraptor ... CERN has done the neutrino test at least a few times. I'm sure the moon and tide were all in different positions. You're a pessimist aren't ya ?

  • 1:43 nippes!

also, holy shit this is crazy news!

  • And can someone tell me if a subatomic particle can be developed into a warp drive to travel through space?

  • BBC news!?!?!?!? (big black cock!)

  • There is something faster than neutrinos... Chuck Norris...

  • Until now many people would say that Nikola Tesla was mad when he said 1932 that neutrinos are traveling faster then light!

  • @OverG88

He had no way of knowing it obviusly

  • Stop the panic...I already resolved this. On to the next one!

"Faster than the speed of light - Neutrino" - Dimensional Field Theory!

  • This means everything in physics we learned so far is ABSOLUTELY WRONG.

    EINSTEIN proved wrong

  • @innocuoushunter Nahh, it doesn't mean that everything we've discovered is absolutely wrong, it's just slightly inprecise, and needs adjustments.

  • I think the most astonishing thing about this finding is that Einstein said only massless objects can travel at the speed of light, while neutrinos have a non-zero mass and travel faster. Interesting stuff!

  • 'seems to be faster than light'...How is this news? Where's the proof? 'SEEMS TO BE' is not scientific.

Jumping the gun just a bit, don't you think???

  • @Juliangardna But you are stupid or what! The tunnel between Switzerland and Italy but the research and measurements have been madein FRANCE in LYON.

    jealous!

  • it's not possible , E=mc2 is the right ......

  • I FUCKING NEW IT WAS NEUTRINOS!

  • Dimensional Field Theory suggests they're both right. Problem solved..NEXT!!

  • I do remember studying where about 400 years ago one could actually get tourtured if one said that the Earth revolves around the sun and it did so with perfect circular movement. Cupernicus, Keppler, the findings of Tycho Brahe and others mathematically disproved this. So Einstien might not have been totally correct, this is really no big surprise being that science constantly disproves theories all of the time. This one is just a biggie that's all!

  • I don't think people really understand why anything that goes faster than the speed of light is so revolutionary. It completely shatters our concept of time/space, like... its completely wrong. The basis for our dimension itself is wrong if this is correct, thats why its so amazing.

Scientists aren't just stubborn for thinking that light is the fastest, we base our whole model of our universe on that fact.

  • I dont get why all these european people on here dont get this. Stupid people. This us actually REALLY simple.

  • @piero751000, you're a troll. The neutrinose were beamed from CERN to LNGS. CERN is in Switzerland and LNGS is in Italy. Antonio Ereditato is italian.

  • @JulianGardna The research was done at the CNRS. Inform yourself before you say anything please! The operation OPERA, is French. So stop being spiteful! it's like the smart card or the TGV. Does not support you as you are ahead on some things ..

  • @piero751000, CERN is located in Switzerland and the LNGS, where the neutrinoes were recieved, is located in Central Italy.

  • @JulianGardna Does it matter that at 40 deg latitude for Italy the receiver would be moving at about 794.80665 mph= 0.220779625 MILES A SECOND=1165.71312 FEET A SECOND closer to the point that the partials were sent from due to earths rotation? Wouldn't that decrees the distance they actually had to travel since the receiver was moving toward them? Then the travel time for their journey would be shortened.

  • @SSHANDYMAN396 Do you honestly think that they haven't taken these things in to account. And besides, the earth and all of its associated particles feel the effects of its gravity. So it would be moving with the earth at the same rate a planted object moves relative to earth + its own speed.

  • @Freeleacher CNRS in Lyon, Lyon in France, the discovery is French! And you do not like France is the source of great discovery ... jealous!

  • Always knew this dumb Jew was wrong all along... it's finally proven. This bastard was the reason for the existence of the atom bomb. Doesn't matter that it wasn't his intention he invented and knew the technology would and coulb be destructive yet he still did it.

  • watch the full presentation :

    /watch?v=kj6SfTBUXCE

  • how the hell humans can record the exact speed of anyrhing??pluss the exact speed of light this is enormous speed i dont get it

  • Ok you guys proved Einstein wrong!

Newton here we come to you and your stupid apple!

if only u ate it, i swear apples taste good!

    lol

  • Tesla strike again ;)

  • I think it is possible, the light is pulled by black hole.

  • kukula?

  • bravo to the French for this discovery!

  • @Piero751000 You clearnly doesn't know what Cern is, do ya?

  • Einstien's theory still stands, and the neutrino also did travel faster than light. He presumed that nothing can travel faster than light as "causality" would not permit it to. However, what if something could travel faster than light, without effecting causality? That's what seems to have happened here, something to do with the Membrane Universe. So maybe rephrasing that old saying would set a better perspective on it, something more readily comprehensible and acceptable.

  • @ranjitshastry Actually, according to many physics that were interviewed after the experiment, among them Antonio Zichichi, said that if confirmed, the discover would prove the total inconsistence of Einstein's theory....

  • @ranjitshastry if neutrinos are faster than ligth im just guessing that einstein's theories will corrupt

  • @ranjitshastry Get lost!

The `neutrino` possesses mass. Special relativity (SR) FORBIDS a material particle to be accelerated from v<c to v≥c. SR does, however, allow for the existence of objects forever moving at FIXED v≥c.

Causality has NOTHING to do with this. Causality in SR pertains to the `characteristic surfaces` of the 3D wave operator.

  • @LeconsdAnalyse The neutrino posses mass? The how come it travels faster than light? All along it has been thought that neutrinos travel "very near" the speed of light - hence measurements suggesting they have mass have been accepted. Pauli postulated that, in order to exist, neutrinos (or just plain neutrons, as they were called at that time) must have mass. However, most physical scientists today believe that neutrinos have mass - so its them VS Einstein.

  • And Einstein is like: "Mein Gott!"

  • Looks like that place just paid for itself anyway...

  • TWO STARS GOING AROUND EACH OTHER VERY CLOSE CAN BEND UP SPACE TIME AND PRODUCE A GRAVITY WAVE, ITS A WAVE IN SPACE TIME (IN THEORY) THERE IS AN EXPERIMENT SOME WHERE HOPING TO SEE THE EFFECTS OF THIS WAVE IF IT HITS EARTH , ITS A LASER BEAM ABOUT 4 MILES LONG AND IF THE WAVE HITS IT WILL BEND THE LIGHT , CAUSING THE LIGHT TO STRIKE ITS MARKER A BIT LATE

ONE OF THESE WAVES COULD HAVE DISTORTED SPACE TIME AND MADE IT SEEM THAT THE PARTIAL GOT THERE EARLY - IM SURE THEY HAVE THOUGHT OF THIS :)

  • COULD THIS BE EVIDENCE OF GRAVITY WAVES HITTING THE EARTH ?

  • @MR1QUEST gravity is not a wave

  • @WW2medalsNpatchesME ... LOL. I never liked Al Gore or his commandant... I voted for the other guy too : )

  • jamesflood.co.uk blogs about all this stuff, and he knows his stuff :)

  • Still nobody knows how magnets work.

  • "I always thought something was fundamentally wrong with the universe" -Authur Den

  • t'=t*sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)

    v>c solution for t' anybody? :-D

  • my dumb idea.

dont take it serious. im an idiot.

maybe because the vacuum in which those neutrino are fired has a electric field that accelerates the neutrino with no resistance.

plus foton energy was used to get the neutrons, so that might give it a boost.

in the Universe the magnetic field around the particle is not speeding it up, like in the LHC.

    but slowing it down.

the magnetic field or space time is behaving different maybe?

  • Summary: The researchers conducted a *very* difficult & tricky experiment, & believe the extraordinary result that got is outside their expected 10ns(!) margin of error. They recognize the result is unlikely, but can't see where they made an error. So responsibly, they publish in order to give the rest of the scientific community the chance to try to replicate, or point out problems. That's *all* that's happened. Most likely an error. But time & proper scientific procedure will eventually tell.

  • OMG......i cant wait to see everyone become budding scientists in the comment section !!

  • What if time is nothing. What if it is naturally impossible to go through time. What is a second? A measurement based on earths rotation. So, since it's pretty much made up, the entire thing is a theological fabrication. It could be real, but for now, it's just as real as religion. And I love god. and time. I'd love to be sure they both exist. but for now, meh.

  • All of my investigations seem to point to the conclusion that they are small particles, each carrying so small a charge that we are justified in calling them neutrons. They move with great velocity, exceeding that of light. - Nikola Tesla

  • today Einsteins speed of light is equivalent to just a speed

the next page of science has opened!

  • if time didn't go backwards for the nutrinos then we have got the wrong speed of time...

they just arrived earlier then expected but not before they left!

    do the maths.

  • @bigpurple100 ur stupid..just think deeply about what u said...or pick up the book called resnicxk or halliday....i would even recommend a brief history of time by stephen hawking

  • Get back to teleportation studies!

  • At this point all one can say is "nothing can go faster then the fastest as of course the fastest means fastest just as 1 means 1 yet the fastest can be anywhere between here and infinity, just keep reaching faster and further".

  • @WW2medalsNpatchesME ... Global warming cycles have happened forever. Actually it might even ward off a future ice age if the world acts now and creates more pollution and noxious gases. I'd adopt a penguin or two and give it the best home it ever had.

  • A new Einstein would postulate; "nothing can travel faster than neutrinospeed."

  • in your face einstein! ahhahahaha get owned son :D

  • HC

  • people still watch TMNT?

  • so if faster then speed of light means one can go back in time, the neutrinos went back in time and changed the present, and so what was suppose to be happening now never happened, wow! neutrinos changed my destiny lol

  • @deanmullen10 ... LOL something like that. Movement at a velocity faster that the speed of light could imply that time reverses. Time travel into the past is now highly more likely.

  • @ZYRADIA ha yes and don't get me wrong I'm not someone who has no clue about science just the way I wrote it ha but yeah I know what you mean, though if the neutrino had surpassed the speed of light do you think it has literally effected the past after it had supposedly happened? or do you believe it simply travelled into a parallel past in another universe, basically the quantum universe theory?

  • @deanmullen10 ... If traveling faster than the speed of light implies a reverse in the time movement therby going backwards in time, then the neutrino could have arrived earlier at the measuring device therefore seeming like it traveled faster than the speed of light. However, if it went backward in time to begin with, that proves is was travelling faster than the speed of light anyway.

  • @ZYRADIA except that it's nothing to do with time, it just goes faster than light. Einstein was an idiot (like most earth scientists)

  • @ZeroHumans ... What do you mean the speed of light or going faster than the speed of light has "nothing to do with time ??? Don't you know that if you fly in a commercial airliner at even 500 mph that time slows down for you. Yes, that's right, when you arrive at your destination, you are actually milliseconds younger than you would have been if you didn't take that flight. You're the kind of guy that should be pat searched often and repeatedly.

  • Comment removed

  • @ZYRADIA Well, time slows down for you from a other perspectives view. For you in the plane everything is the same and the time on the ground seems to go slower. The thing is, who is moving, the earth or the plane?

  • @cartoelie ... On the contrary my good fellow; time only slows down for the traveler not from the perspective of a person on the Earth. Only the time stream slows down, not the plane or rate of motion. Objects still move at their respective speed.

  • @ZYRADIA the neutino didnt go back in time, it went faster than time could keep up with and as a result it arrived earlier than if time were traveling the same distance at the speed of light which it does. Kinda like breaking the sound barrrier, except with light, time is the equivalent barrier as well.

  • @ZYRADIA the neutino didnt go back in time, it went faster than time could keep up with and as a result it arrived earlier than if time were traveling the same distance at the speed of light which it does. Kinda like breaking the sound barrrier, except with light, time is the equivalent barrier as well.

  • Let's hope it's just some miscalculation.. We are not ready for things as time traveling

  • @UndisclosedGuitarGuy Everything goes 20x20x20= 8000 times quicker every new loop of creation = consciousness. Let your EGO go and grow = step into the next step of consciousness = advanced intuition. It took us 16.4 billion year to get this far. It's all about evolution of mankind = consciousness. Just think how quickly the world changes now and it will go quicker and quicker. Please find yourself some time to educate yourself in "why are we now as we are now" and visit P A T E O . N L

  • if be true...... is the most Great discovery in 100 years....

  • Einstein could be right, and this new phenomenon just requires a deeper amalgamation of theories to explain it.

  • @skydome29 ... Look little fella, If the speed of light is broken, the next step is to find out how much faster than the speed of light can something travel. I'm afraid that if it is found out that multiple speeds of light are possible, its not going to require simply an amalgamation of theories. Its going to require "re-postulating."

  • @ZYRADIA I'm not a "little fella" and we both realize the great intrigue with this finding. Your next step is what i've said in another post (margin of error). I agree with your re-postulation, but we must take all into granted such as QED (and much more). Neutrinos have been known since the 70's and I believe we see the absolute great discovery that has occured (isn't is awesome that we (may be) no longer confined to light as an absulute constant) but its exciting, but we have to know we dont

  • @ZYRADIA have to scrap everything we know, it could be an infinite amount of solutions for neutrinos! I feel like its those who don't see the significance of this that it must be addressed to.

  • But will it Blend?

  • @monkeyafg yes

  • @monkeyafg The only thing in the universe that won't blend

  • @monkeyafg it will, but unfortunately for the mankind,y our brains wont .

  • @monkeyafg fuck out here....trying to get thumbs up

  • If only Feynman could see this!

  • NOTHING can travel back in time you would only see light projected in the past witch we already can by just watching at the skies we are looking at light from objects whom might even be gone by now

  • It wouldn't be the first time they need to "fundamentally rethink that the universe works". I love it when this happens, everyone gets so excited. XD

  • history Sep 23, 2011
