  • @wolf1010 Nothing boring about a convertible with 750WHP. Just trying to keep it straight is enough to keep you on your toes. You actually shift it manually, and it is very difficult, even for veteran drag racers to time it until they get used to the car. I improved my 60 ft times from 2.8 to 1.6 after a few runs. That's a drastic difference. Nothing boring about a car that takes that much drive at its peak. That was on low boost, too.

  • @saintlysimon It's a lot better now that the tuning and transmission issues are resolved! I get about 12mpg I think. I don't really watch it very closely. If I go to the track, that drops drastically, obviously. ;)

  • @blackeye09 It is a fully built longblock. The stock motor can't handle the power I'm pushing. At 22psi I'm pushing 693WHP. At 25psi, its about 750WHP.   • @blackeye09 Automatic turbos are much faster down the track. On street tires and low boost I'm running low 11's with 20 degree track temps. It's a low 10 or high 9 sec car on high boost. Just need to get some time at the track.

  • @chrisios Cool. I like racing the subbies. I know what you mean, i really built the engine to grow into if I decide to push for 4-digit power. I can upgrade the turbos, and injectors and push for that pretty easily. Everything else is ready for it. Be safe and post a video when you get back.

  • @chrisios I built the entire longblock and did a ton of head work. I think it was around 10-13k, but I don't remember. I did a ton of work all at the same time, so I'd have to pull invoices to be sure for each thing. I have the Pro-EFI 48PIN. The 128PIN had knock control, but not the 48PIN. I might upgrade next year though. The 35R on the Z might do 700Wheel, but I like the twin scrolls. Quick spool on the street is nice, since I daily it, show it, and track it. Nice all around setup.

  • @chrisios I actually have a low compression motor, but regardless, I have control of the boost level. I only run high boost on higher octane (110, C16 or Q16) to avoid knock. I've not seen a 35R or a td04 put down 750WHP on a built motor Z before, but maybe you can link me to one. Greddy TT setup, btw.

  • @chrisios The boost is variable, buddy. This video was at low boost. That doesn't mean I am incapable of flipping the high boost switch or using my can gauge or using my iBoost switch to change the boost setting between 14PSI all the way up to 25PSI, where it makes 750WHP. BTW, 14PSI is NOT considered low boost on a Z, considering anyone with a stock block can't push 14PSI for long without blowing the motor.

  • @AlbuynoRyen0 Thanks for the props! The main reason is for driveability with this high of WHP. A single turbo with 750WHP will have tons of lag and isn't very friendly on the street.

  • @mrg1981 I can understand where kazanyemmi it coming from. IMO, painted interior used to be cool. But as more ricers do it now days, it just seems rice now. I rather see stock than painted. I understand you may have done it perfectly and it may not have been a cheap thing to do, but just think, those bottom neon lights used to be cool. So was tinted blue bulbs, stickers, shift gauge...etc

  • @sga86 Maybe you need to consider that the car has won 1st place Nissan in every show it has been in, in the current form. It also won best in show and best sound system in other shows last year. The judges obviously like the interior. Maybe the crappy 2yr old video from my point and shoot camera doesn't do it justice. Maybe you should watch a newer video of the car or check out my pictures. Not once has someone seen the interior in person and failed to be impressed.

  • @Shifterkartsforlyfe Congrats on the Z! My Z was built by Intense Motorsports (intensepower dot cm). They are amazing. I'd do some research into 350Z Motorsports if you are thinking of going that route first. Try searching the local forums for reviews first. It might save you some headaches.

I love 350Z w/HR and 370Z btw, and I love GTR as well, they're not expensive cars and I can afford them, but I've been pretty happy driving Subarus. Had a 05' Legacy GT Ltd 5MT and now a 10' Legacy GT Ltd 6MTw/Nav. It's nothing crazy but I'm satisfied doing small mods here and there every once in a while. Cars are bad investments and I have way too many hobbies. ;]

  • @alex369 yeah I'm sure you will spend less being that you will have to replace every cylinder with low compression pistons, new fuel pump, because it's a V8 you will need bigger (more expensive) turbos, new fuel injectors, FMIC, engine management, improved drive train, a tune, and everything else that you have to do to a NA V6 I'm sure it will be cheaper....get real, turboing a V8 is not only stupid but it will cost the same if not more because you are working with 2 more cylinders.

  • @turkeyslugger I haven't had much time and the car has been in and out of the shop. It is totally different now. I still need to get the transmission fixed or swap it for a TH400, but I will see if I can get some video soon.

The transmission is fully built.

  • @mrg1981 love the car and have had a manual and driven an auto before unless it is a very built transmission the auto with the side shifter doesnt respond as fast as a manual with a good driver. but yes u can choose ur shift points i find that the time it takes to tell the cpu to shift a manual could have alrdy been shifted if ur quick enough

You use a bell housing adapter that adapts the Chevy bolt pattern to a Nissan bolt pattern. I admittedly know very little about transmissions, but I knew this. Many companies have a kit for this. I'm getting mine from Sound Performance.

  • @BboyBlackout There are a few burnouts in one of my channel vids. There aren't any at the track yet, since I'm working on the transmission. It held the power for a while, but after a year it started slipping. Either repairing it or swapping for TH400. It put 693 to the wheel at 22PSI.

  • @Towel1e What "fart cannons"? I have 3" AAM true dual exhaust with titanium tips and 3" AAM test pipes. These are some of the best exhaust components available for forced induction VQ's.

  • @Towel1e Anyone that has a muffler with a twin turbo car did not have competent advice in parts selection. You don't want cats or mufflers with TT builds.

  • @mrg1981 Correct. Less back pressure on the turbos, the better. However, don't forget that you could face heavy fines if you're in an emissions strict area and are caught without cats. Here in Oklahoma, they don't check. Sometimes cars with straight pipes that are obnoxiously loud get pulled over though.

  • @mrg1981 cats or no cats is a matter of personal preference on a street car (some people like the environment or get smog tested) and some people don't like the sound of no mufflers. The car has enough power already. I don't think losing out on a few due to cats and mufflers is a big deal.

  • The twin turbo kits I have seen are from $3,500.00 to $10,000.00. Its very effective the higher dollar ones can increase the power from 350hp to up around 700+hp from what I have seen.

  • This is lower than my current low boost setting. My low boost setting is 14psi (about 525WHP) and high boost is 25psi (unknown, but around 750whp; for reference 22psi was 693.5whp).
