It came with a few bonuses, such as a black tray for bits & pieces that actually fits into one of the 5.25" bays, and a black frame that appears to be for holding a 14cm fan, in the case.
One difference on mine is the front doors don't have magnets. They're held in place by the friction of a tiny O ring at the base of each door hinge. It's not biggie, because they work, but I would have preferred magnets.
While this case is a bit heavy for a computer case, at 16.8kg (37.0lb), it's not all that heavy compared to a lot of other things, such as a computer chair, desk, microwave oven or a car. :-p
This review was the most thorough one I've seen on the internet so far. I've seen things that this case can do that I haven't seen in other reviews or on its page on Newegg. My speakers must have broken when you gave an example of the stock cooling though. :P
ive had this case for over 2 years now i modified the window using a dark smoked blue acrylic and removed the side fan i also mounted 2x 140mm fans in the bottom.
this case does get dusty very quickly so have to have cans of compressed air handy overall its a briliant case keeps my components cool even under load.
what rodney didnt mention at the time is theres another version of this case called ESA it has a handy fan controller built in and works with any ESA enabled motherboard!
I have the LCS version of this case.... yep ... it is heavy...so what? I love it.. It's big, ballsy and easy to fit out... The cooling system is easy to fit and works great.
I fitted mine with a ASUS Rampage II Gene mobo powered by a Gigabyte Odin 800w Pro psu. I added a Palit GTX285 Graphics card, (which is quite large).. 'though it easily fit in the case with room to spare.
The only minor gripe is having the front USBs on top. I would much prefer them to be on the front.... Great case!
Rodney, do you like this case better than the Speedo full size one? This case has a larger view window and pull out motherboard tray which is a great selling point in my opinion!!
@legokidnaruto With the hard drive relocation kit to move your hard drives into your unused 5.25" drive bays, you could probably fit upto a 480 on the bottom (internal). Note that there are 2x hose holes beside the psu, 2x hose holes on the back under the fan, and 2x hose holes on the very bottom as well for external LCS. If you move your front panel buttons/usb, you could remove the entire top plastic piece and mount a massive radiator there as well (external).
I have the mid-tower armor case, and I do not like the fact that the face plate is held together with a couple of plastic parts because they damage easy. My faceplate is not able to keep its self attached to the PC anymore.
@andywarecommando 1x installed at the front. 1 optional can be mounted on the back side of the hard drive cage (Not shown in this video), 1 optional can be installed on the top, 2 optional can be mounted on the bottom, 1 installed on the back, 1 installed on the side panel. 3 pre-installed, but room for 4 optional fans. I would buy some higher performance fans and replace the stock ones anyways.
I was going to buy the Cosmos S but this one got my attention i love that it has the same features as the Cosmos s and more like the slideable motherboard tray that's what i wanted this is the case for me thank you
Just one question will it fit XL ATX motherboards?
I'm getting a new case soon. And guy seems like a good choice.. But is the airflow any good in it? I noticed it only have 1 entrance and exit. (I don't know if that's the norm. I'm kind of a noob)
My VH6000SWA only has two thumb screws at the bottom for removing the two lower HDD cases. Also, the SWA is much lighter than the BWS as it's made out of aluminium and not metal.
onlt problem with these is finding a desk big enough to accomodate them. Personalyl i think they are extremly heavy for carrying. i haven't seen the need for 10 5 1/4" drive bayseven with two dvd drives. THe most important thing is hd mounting room. I find the thermal take armour is just a bit bulky. most computer unit desks will not accomodate its huge size.
Get the one that you think is the most beautiful one, the only real diference is that this case support de VGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI, not big differences if you wont use this motherboard.
I just got this case in the middle of Dec and I love it, I love the color the side window and all the potential possibilities this case has. Screw the weight this is a big boy case! I LIKE IT!!
im just guessing but i dont think you can because the leds are in the fans which are designed to turn on when the fan spins. but its easyer to wire it up yourself. i have done it. locate the leds run new wires from the leds and connect to a switch then run other lead back to fan.
10 expansion slots! great. i would like to see more cases with at least 8, or 7 without something blocking from using the last 1 for the top of a 2 space video card
Good review a hundred and forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty, forty millimeter
Nice review. I plan on getting this case in december when I buy the rest of my parts for my christmas break build. I like the extra fan options. Not sure on how the toolless PCI stuff works, but sounds kinda cool I guess. Overall I'm looking forward to this. The main thing I like about this case is the fact that you can route cables behind the motherboard tray, so you can have minimal cable clutter for better airflow across components
i gave you -1 because like i said below, the case comes with a 140mm fan holder which can be screwed/mounted onto the end of the motherboard tray which sits just behind the harddrive bay, this will fix your hdd problem if you are that concerned.
You can also put optional bottom and top fans. so i dont think there is any problem with air flow, i can say i recommend this case its great !!
The tooless PCI is total crap, my tooless PCI wasnt even aligned straight enough to snap pci cards in securely, stupid clips wernt even touching the mount bracket and would also fall out if the mounting bracket would hit it.
This case seems to have all the features I would want, MY only gripe is that the front fan is blowing air on the HDD's but if you have more then 1 installed it blocks the flow into the rest of the case :-( But if i had the money I would buy this.
You can have two drives on the bottom of the case. If you do this you can't fans on the bottom but you would have space free for the front intake fan.
most cases have front intake fan blowing onto HDD, its a good thing, ya dummy
if you are that concerned about it, the case also comes with a 140mm fan holder that can be screwed onto the motherboard tray just behind where the harddrive bay is.
You can also install extra fans on the bottom and top, so i dont think air flow is a problem ....
I've heard rave reviews about this, but this thing looks so flimsy to me. It seems cheaply made with the cheap-type plastic. It doesn't even come with an exhaust fan on top! That's another $25 you'll have to spend.
But, it's really not that cheap. $185 on Newegg. There are a good bit of nice full towers out there for a smaller price tag. I'd be more than happy to get something with better build quality over excessive, thrown in features than vice versa.
I bought this case on sale. It's awesome!
