  • 1??? ooh its justin! hi justin!

  • Ugh i could just go back to Paris and walk around all day with this song playing on my itouch and i would just be in love with life and on cloud 9 or something. It's a feeling to die for!

  • LIIIINDA!!!

  • whats with people always saying how old they are? Is that a thing?

  • best version of this song hands down

  • I watched Julie & Julia because of this song. In my opinion, this version by Margaret Whiting beats Chet Baker's and Sinatra's version, even though I love all 3 versions very very much.

  • In a way, this is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.

  • I don't know why people today listen to heavy handed music instead of something as beautiful as this! It's A pity they can't come up with songs like this anymore.

  • Something about these classical songs never gets old when I listen to it. Im 15 and when I listen to one of those mainstream songs over and over it gets incredibly stale like a shirt that's been worn way too often and it just gets boring.

  • Fit the julie and Julia movie ending perfectly *___*!!!!

  • I love love love this song <3 and i LOVE Julie and Julia!

  • i love this song, when i listen to it, i feel so relaxed and content.(especially when i feel overwhelmed in this fast paced environment)...and time after time.......

  • is this something like jazz from 50's?

  • @lekhanh94No it is not jazz, it is a love song, a ballad. It has sincere words, a beautiful melody, a superb orchestra and last but not least a good singer. I am please that you enjoyed it.

There is a mass of jazz on you tube. Jazz is such a very personal taste I would hesitate to recommend any thing to any body. A good, fun, starting point though would be "big noise from Winetka" Gene krupa or Ray Baduc. I think I have spelled it right.

  • Gorgeous

  • Bello xx

  • Now this is what music should be all about. Beautiful.....

  • listening to this at 1.40 am something inexplicable happens to me, something funny, but entirely beautiful

  • It was also on the movie "Evening" with Claire Daine singing it. WONDERFUL song....brings a warm fuzzy to your heart.

  • I love this song, though I'm only 15 years old. I wish others of my generation could appreciate music like this.

  • @octoclara THANK YOU! I totally agree with you!

  • : (

  • great song...SO great. captivating voice, awesome orchestra, sweet sentiments in the words. i heard this song for the first time only when julie/julia came out. i also notice that ms. whiting just passed away this past january. when the movie came out, towards the end of her life, it must've given ms. whiiting tremendous satisfaction to realize that she was gaining new fans. thank you, ms. whiting for your heavenly voice that you shared while here with us on earth!

  • Every time I hear this song I cry. Its so beautiful.

  • nothing but the best l;isten to the orchesta

  • She and Johnny Mercer do my favority version of "Baby, it's Cold Outside"

  • Im 16. I love pop and rock and R&B and hip hop and a lot of other stuff. But I've always loved taking car rides with my nana just to drive and talk and listen to old songs like this shes listened to her whole life. This has to be one of my favorite songs. My mother also sang it during her barbershop chorus competition. Miss you nana <3

  • i dedicate this song to a very special someone in my life. Bradley, if your reading this, just know I'll always be loving you.

  • this song touches my heart.. =) <3

  • <3

  • I love this song... what a discovery for me of Margaret Whiting... though I did see Julie and Julia... Great singer.....RIP.

  • I also heard this on Julie and Julia, one of my favorite movies

  • @1995katara I was also blessed to be born in the 1940's. I have a 14 year old daughter who heard the song Time After Time as sung by Margaret Whiting in the movie Julie and Julia. My daughter fell in love with this song, and has played this version over and over during the past few weeks. I am so proud that she enjoys hearing this terrific classic version on You Tube.

  • I can listen to this over and over and never get tired of hearing it.

  • the first time, i heard this song in the movie Evening, with Meryl Streep too, and after on Julie and Julia, and i fall in love for this song. So pretty!!

    Sorry my English...

  • thanks for posting! most old songs posted on here are bad quality, not this one :)

  • such a pretty song

  • II love the way the women sand in the 1950's, its real and unique and not altered like what they do now. I wish i had a voice like her

  • ...you know, these days, it seems like this music (and and the times associated) are from another planet. To think this country was like that at one time. it's astounding. Love it.

  • Good on you girls; Don't let anyone tell you these are corny.. they're not, it's called a pure expression of Love. And if they persist, you can always quote Kate Winslet from the 'Holiday"when she says "I'm looking for corny in my life". If it makes you that happy 'I'm looking for corny in my life too :) I was raised on this stuff and at 28 I love it just as much now as ever!

  • And so a song from another era can transcend the years and even pierce the heart of the young in 2011. How beautiful..It touches the heart in a way no modern singer or song can or ever will. Stroll down the lane of the 1940's to experience more 'love songs' such as 'I'll be seeing you'.

  • where can i download this??????????

  • @lowkeygoddess Rhapsody.

  • This is the song for the boy I'm in love with. I'm sixteen, and I'm proud of this song

  • Just to make a correction, she says: "You've KEPT my love so young, so NEW." Cheers!

  • just cant stop to listen to it...

  • I didn't know until last night that Margaret Whiting had passed away. What a great singer.

  • there's a reason that 0 people disliked this...

  • @pats60415

Thats so awesome. I hope I can say that 50 years from now.

  • of all the versions hers is the purist-the goal is for the artist to serve the music not the other way around! Grayson is a bit too operatic for this song. Ella (love her voice) embellishes too much for my taste and Frank- well, it's good but a bit slow and I just don't get that simplicity and purity that Whiting brings to the song. Bravo for 'JUlie/Julie' for bringing this old classic to new life!

  • the movie julie & julia brought me here.

    Such a divine song :)

  • Ive decided... if i ever get married... This will be our song. I just love it.

  • @lizareyes87

this was my wife song at our wedding 50 years ago.Al Martino did it then best he ever did

  • So lucky to be hearing Margaret Whiting once again!!

  • i love this song.. just too bad just knew her because of the movie Julia and Julia......

  • Years ago I emceed a concert with Margaret and the Woody Herman band. She was such a good singer and a delightful person to be with backstage. She sent a very warm personal note after that. I still have it on my office wall. Miss you Margaret.

  • this song makes me so happy to be in love...and so glad that i have someone who loves me too...

  • @1995katara same here!!!!!

  • Had the pleasure of meeting Margaret and Jack--can't believe they both are gone.

  • I heard this song on julie and Julia and even tho I'm 15 I really like this song. It's pretty and I like how she sings. Kinda makes me wish I lived in the 1940's or 1950's. Lol.

  • @1995katara me too i wish i could live in the 40 or 50 to hear all this great music

  • @1995katara

  • @1995katara i was blessed to be born in the 40's, I too love this music, we are blessed to have You Tube to post these songs.

  • @1995katara this was 1947 I believe lolz

  • @1995katara right, it had that 50s feel and i love it. lol i used to say to my parents, i still do as a joke, "so were people rrly in black and white back then and their color changed when TV color came?" lol I'm crazy lol but yea i heard this song today when i was watching the end of the movie. so nice :)

  • @1995katara mee toooooo!

  • @1995katara

Me too.. and I'm young, too!!

  • this reminds me so much of my gone to heaven mom and dad.....Mom and Dad......thanks so much for everything you've done for us...still miss you and always will.......

  • @leelaural Your message really got to me. My mom and dad are gone now and it's so hard to understand why we're made to live if we're only going to die.

  • Can the person who posted the accompanying lyrics please correct the typographical errors. (And also identify the year this version was recorded.) Thank you.

by Sammy Cahn (words) and Jule Styne (music)

I only know what I know

    The passing years will show

You've kept my love so young, so new

  • Had the pleasure of hearing this beautiful voice in person on two different occasions. Thanks Margaret for the memories and for your wondeful recordings that we can enjoy forever. RIP

  • Rest in peace margaret, you were a wonderful singer.

  • RIP to a person with a wonderful voice and who graciously shared her talent. Her voice was so soulful and at the same time sublime and never pretentious.Like many great talents of her generation she gave her all and will never be forgotten

  • My heart breaks to lose her!!!

  • This is one of my all-time favorite songs, written by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn and sung by Kathryn Grayson to Peter Lawford in 'It Happened in Brooklyn' (1947). Margaret Whiting was a "singer's singer," with a clear, beautiful voice and flawless diction. They don't make them like her anymore, nor songs like this.

  • RIP&Thanks!!!!!

  • What an amazing song and beautiful voice. She is a talent that will be long recalled. as a great unsong great

  • What a beautiful voice…sigh!

  • It is my sad duty to inform fellow Tubees that Margaret Eleanor Whiting began singing for the angels on January 10, 2011. She now joins her sister Barbara and her father Richard.

    R.I.P. Miss Whiting.

  • I have been a fan of this wonderful woman and her great voice since I was a kid. She was the one I wanted to sound like there was a pure sound from her, and it was not acted or put on. When I heard today she had passed. It was like loosing that special Aunt you were so fond of.

  • I've known of Margaret Whiting since I was a kid in the '70s (being a big Marx Bros. fan, I knew her for her featured role in their 1930 movie "Animal Crackers"), but when I heard this recording at the end of "Julie and Julia", I was totally floored by her vocal performance. Outstanding. I turned to my wife and said, "Wow, I've got to see who sings that," and checked the credits. I have an even greater appreciation of Whiting's talents now.

  • Margaret Whiting has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. I wish everyone had someone to sing this song to who felt the same way. I hope some day I will. I heard this song for the first time when I saw Julie & Julia. Julie loves Julia Childs and decides to cook all 524 recipes in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Volume I within a year & she blogs about it. The song is played at the end of the movie with Julia dancing slowly with her husband in the kitchen.

  • Margaret Whiting...great voice! Check her "Moonlight in Vermont", and my favorite "Old Devil Moon".

  • Fabulous lyrics, fabulous melody - just love it time after time

  • Great song.

Perfect words; already practicing my voice to it so I may sing for 25th anniversary Jan 2011!

  • I love this song. This is the song to my boyfriend. I love him so much. :-)

  • i love this song!

  • Love the song with all my heart but thank you telizabeth2002, it is in fact "You've kept my love so young o new". Other than that, love love love love love.

  • After hearing this on Julie&Julia I had to check it out..total bliss

  • "You've kept my love so young, so new," not "you cab my love so young so you."

  • This song brings back so many happy memories. Margaret Whiting is one of my all time favorite singers.

  • love this song
