What does disturb me about the video is the suggestion that Nancy Pelosi is a freedom fighter of some sort for her little quip instead of the sad lapdog she really is. Pelosi and Reid's positions and behaviors have weakened Sen. Obama's argument that change of party means real change for the people.
Actually that was an exchange between Barbara Boxer (Senator from CA) not Pelosi and she was sounding off to James Inhoffe who was dogging Al Gore at the first Climate Change hearing to take place after the Dems took over in 2006.
What is a flag if not a political prop? Seriously, I'm not sure I understand what else it could be other than a symbol. In this case a symbol of unity and common ideals - but still a prop.
I see what you're saying. In this case my point was to show common ideals that all American's tend to share, but that have been perverted in the last 8 years by:
fear, secrecy, upward distribution of wealth, promotion of cynicism, and corruption.
Maybe, but if the flag is left only to the Republican party then Democrats will be smeared as unpatriotic -- remember all that lapel pin nonsense? The flag, as you say, is for all of us. And that includes Democratic politicians.
Man, all those non-biodegradable plastic cups are going to destroy the earth... oh no, better look out for Al Gore!
