THIS IS AWESOME! how come all cars cannot be electric? I'd figure the beatle is very easy compared to modern cars, but with the billions of dollars spent on oil and the processes to clean it up (including the bodies of cancer), I'm sure it should be spent on research and advancements to all cars being electric and updating 'the grid'. We converted factories in the 40's from making Buicks to B52 Bombers and artillary tanks in a matter of months.

I'd rather put a V8 in the back...

Now that I think about it, that wouldn't go well because all the car's weight is in the back, and all that power will make the car do a wheelie every time I try to do a light take off from every intersection :/

This is very cool. I built 5 electric cars back in 1992 to 1994 in High School. We used GE motors and the Curtis controllers. This brought back some good memories of building the cars. We had 96volts, 16 6 volt batteries and we got a good 100 miles out of a charge.
