I like the more old school look and feel to this one, but I kind of like the Warner Bros. Family Entertainment logo of the 90's more (not sure why other than the nostalgia of it).
And to tell you the truth, I would have preferred if this was how Bugs and the others looked on The Looney Tunes Show.
they are still using this logo for disney xd airings of patb and stas the hub airings of Freak-a-zoid and detention qubo airings of taz mania and pbs kids go airings of histeria
I hope they should use this logo for some other 90's cartoon shows including "Tiny Toon Adventures", "Taz-Mania", "Batman: The Animated Series", "Pinky and the Brain", "Animaniacs" and a few other shows. If they're still using the WB Family Entertainment logo for "Batman: The Animated Series" on the Hub, why not plaster them.
Its actually well suited for this look of Bugs to be his retro version. Batman the Brave and the Bold has Batman in his retro-type attire along with his friends and enemies in the same retro-like fashion.
I like the homage to the classic toons. I think this logo could've been a LOT better.
Maybe this brand new WB logo could've zoomed in (complete with the signature "twang" sound). and the word "Presents" would fade in just like the old toons. This way they would be able to use the entire "That's All Folks" variation of "Merrily We Roll Along".
I think that would've made this logo more complete.

Are you serious? They replaced the well-animated Bugs Bunny in a tuxedo with this poorly animated, tweened and stiff-moving piece of shit that a thirteen year old could do in flash in half an hour?
The animation industry has seriously gone to hell. It makes me sick, Jones must be turning over in his grave.
It definitely went downhill writing-wise, it's basically 100% booger jokes and rediculous plotlines nowadays. I don't take bias towards animation-wise, I remember Bullwinkle having lazy animation but FUNNY jokes and stories that were INTERESTING. As much as I miss the "tux" Bugs, I don't mind the 40's-ish Bugs here.
"Improved artwork of today"? In which way is Warner Brothers' animation artwork of today better than what they did in the early 1940s (the era which this logo design is taken from)?
Idiot. What I mean is thattraditional animation is more polished than it was back then. I know for a fact the majority of cartoons these days are lackluster so don't shove words down my throat, stupid.
Well... No need to shout, I was merely curious what you meant. Still, what you say about traditional animation being more "polished" nowadays can certainly be discussed. Much of the best 1940s animation is beautifully done and - yes - very, very polished. If you mean digitally polished, then that's another matter, but I think the original Bugs Bunny logo from the early 40s is just as ''polished'' as this new one, if not even more.. Check out for instance the HQ youtube version of Wabbit Twouble.
Heh, I think I know what you mean;) I've been through some cases like that myself. My method for avoiding it is trying to be very clear about what I say out here...
So by "polished", did you mean things like the coloring and surface details are slicker now thanks to digital technology? Because that's all I can think of that's moer polished now than 60 years ago. In terms of actual animation, the guys of 60 years ago were virtuosos that few today can touch-----though to be fair, they don't really have many chances to even try.
Essentially, yes. And no offense to the original animators, there have been some errors in animation in the classics, though considering the time it's understandible. Warner Bros. focused on more humorous animation styles than Disney, though they did use a humourous style as well. Thanks to modern tecniques, things look a lot better, though I will say nothing beats classic stuff. I was reffering to how the modern animators were able to capture the classic look and make it look new.
There is one animation detail that, for me, stands out particularly to seperate this from the classic style. The facial expression Bugs has right at the end (his eyes/eye brows when he bows his head chewing the carrot) feels like an expression more inspired by newer television cartoons. That look is a look I've never seen the classic, early 40s Bugs with. For some reason, I don't think he would have been animated like that by the originators.
Other than seeing Warner Bros. recreate the Tex Avery verison of Bugs Bunny, I also noticed that they recreated the "Presents" byline that was seen in the old Warner Bros. logos instead of the TimeWarner byline we're used to seeing. I hope this means they're going to make great cartoons again like they did in the 1990's to early 2000's.
I just looked him up and he was the executive producer on both the god awful tv show "Johnny Test" and "Tom and Jerry: The Fast and the Furry". Is there something else I should know about him? Last I checked he left Warner Brothers to work with Sony Pictures.
He also was executive producer for "Loonatics Unleashed," "Tom & Jerry Tales," "Krypto the Superdog," "Baby Looney Tunes," AND he messed up Scooby big-time with "What's New, Scooby-Doo!"
BTW, "Johnny Test" was actually a co-production of WB Animation and Cookie Jar Entertainment (formerly Cinar) in the first season, but in the second season, Cookie Jar Entertainment produced the show themselves. Still crappy nonetheless
From what I've seen, the second season of Tom and Jerry Tales seems better than the first. In season 2, the crew got closer to the original character designs, and the show also had a wider variety of directors - among them Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone (who had already cut their teeth on the characters in "The KarateGuard" from 2005). I thought season 1 had a few funny eps, but it felt like the crew got a bit closer to the real Tom and Jerry by season 2. Too bad KidsWB closed down just then...
To me Johnny Test represents everything wrong with TV animation right now. The writing is stale (that self-referential humor was hilarious in the 90s, but it's been done so much since then it isn't funny anymore), the voices are choked with forced irony that isn't funny anymore either because it's also been overdone, and the show has what I personally believe are the worst character designs in the history of American cartoons.
But of course, all this is just my humble, modest opinion. XD
@Marbles471 Well, Johnny Test isn't an American show, and yet Cartoon Network is using him as the Edgier answer to Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, right down to being just plain annoying.
Instant Classic! Can't wait to see it at the beginning of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. But it's good to see that Warner Bros. is still in Animation.
Yeah, complete agreement. Some people grew up with Disney; I grew up with Warner Bros. I guess that's why I'm such a sarcastic, irreverent so-and-so :)
Violence, but the humor is more ironic, satirical, that sort of thing. I'm more thinking the old cartoons from the fifties, sixties, and seventies, since Animaniacs came out after I was thoroughly corrupted anyway.
@BWayans2001 Typical stuff, Mallets, Anvils falling, logic-breaking, and even a rhino that Ralph the guard gets tied to the horn of. If you think that's nothing, then you must've been playing too many violent video games.
@YoshiAngemon: THAT is not violence. Warner humor is FUNNY. Violence is seen via slop like Family Guy & other "adult" shows that make a mockery of everything and everyone, with no respect or regard for anything.
