Hi, everyone, I am a Chinese and it's nice to talk to you guys. Some westerners got we chinese wrong, we never thought of genociding any race. Come on, think about it: There are already 1 billion of chinese on the earth, and why would we wanna genocide other ethnic group? We even don't have the motivation to do it.
Also YOU need to answer to the FACT that 90+++% of the Tibetan peoples were SERFs before the aknowledged *egalitarian* Chinese communists showed up in Lhasa......AND that this is NOT the situation anymore........
Until YOU answer this your whole NAIVE "free tibet" has NO meaning..... N-O-N-E.....
YOU should pray that the CCP keeps power as a "democratic china" WILL involve political parties PANDERING to the 92% of Han Chinese for HARDER "nationalism".

I can understand how some videos stir up Chinese anger.
The fact that this extremely clear and reasonable one managed to highlights a certain insecurity amongst some Chinese if you ask me.
P.S. Notice the word "some".. and remember what the nice man said about being able to dilineate oneself from things. You are not Borg and resistance is not futile.
You don't see an Indian national or Italian or Mexican, unhappy with anything in his or her own country go seek assistance from another country to attack his own country. Its like asking your neighbour to attack your parents just because you don't fully agree with them. That's the problem with you Zang ethnic minority (Tibetan) of Xizang, China. Whatever grievances you have with your motherland, China, the doors to peaceful discussions has always been open to your leaders.
U emphasized u only critisize Chinese government, but u'll really need to be careful. When u defend the 3.14 rioters, encourage separation of Tibet from China or imply Tibet has never been a part of China, u r making a huge mistake by turning Chinese people ur enemy.
Tibet is an autonomous region as its governers are tibetans. I don't understand what is your saying about "true" autonomy. How "true" do you want or does Dalai Lama want? printing their own currency? stopping Han ethnic Chinese from doing business in Tibet? continuing ruling the tibetan society with religion? Please educate me what an operatable "true autonomy" is really about!
Thank you for at least caring about some people in other countries, although there are some other people need much more care from you, like Iraqis (sorry it didn't happen 200-300 yrs ago, it happens NOW)
Have you been to China (including Tibet)? If not, go and spend sometime there if you can't stop talking nonsense like this without much first-hand information.
How do u know its completely false that the dali lama doesn't want to enslave his people agian like he did before the chinese took over. Dali lama is just frustrated he lost his power cuz when he ruled tibet, he was treated like a king&god by his people. He only wants to be part of china cuz he wants the billions of money china have spend for tibet, but for that he needs to pay a price which is give up his relgion. he cant expect both.
true, but american gov't has "better excuse" for it lol.
I don't think we should boycott the Olympics, but it seems so obvious that Chinese descents are arguing solely b/c they aren't happy with BBC's airing of China's inhumane activities, and how the unveiling of their mistakes can neg. affect them.
The more they raise their voices and try to justify, behalf of china, more repulsive views on china.
People dont see that just with justifying your own mistakes, it provokes more anger.
are you out of your mind?? the government dosen't live forever.. but dalair do reborn i hope you know.
the future is still in our hand, if the government is not good, then we will spend time to change it!! but tibet and taiwan is something that we must act now.. there are not more time to be wait.
also i have no idea where you learn your history..the fact is tibet is lead by chinese empire.. where you think qing dynasty come from?? they fall from sky? lol
why is it completely false that dailai does not want to go back to TIbet in order to slave his people? Theocracy, he promotes governance over people using religion, which is slavery.
sorry pathetic tracy; bring the Dalai Lama back and see how the Tibetans react. That's why them ccp are afraid for. Cause they know that almost all Tibetans will sacrifice their life without hesitation for Him when He is there. Does that sound as slavery and what slaves voluntary do? They only slaves are the Chinese slavechildren and brainwashed and trained pro-ccp
wow why are you calling me pathetic? whatever makes you feel better about yourself. I dont care, I am just telling you guys not to worry about tibet and china issue before you actually go there yourself to live there for a while, talk to ppl living there. THEN you have a say. Otherwise, your claims will not be valid. Basic logic. Otherwise, stay away from debating or even verbally attacking other people with different opinions.
I understand your American like free. such as free sex with anybody, free sm. free drug, free gun! but I Think it will be not suitable for us. so good luck for you so called free.
perhaps but you still cannot compare the oppression in the western countries to china's. Their has been too much death in china as a result of the ccp violent tendancies to simply ignore and say that it happens in every country nothing to worry about. The fact is that many tibetans have been tortured and killed many falun gong practitioners have been brutally mutilated. Is this something you can say is not a problem and just simply shove it off saying it happens everywhere.
if you get a chance to actually visit tibet in person rather than gathering second hand information here and there, you'll probably discover something very different to what you believe.
I think the riots and this whole issue has been stirred up by other special interest groups. With this said I have to say this second video of yours a a lot more fair.
Tibet is already a special zone just like Hong Kong if you didn't know. Secondly there are things that could be better in tibet, not only but the rest of China so to speak. But this violence riot and asking to divide up a country to me is just dumb. I refuse to reconize tibet as an individual country just like Quebec here.
Give China a chance to develop on it's own and fix it's own internal problems. No one said it was ever ok for China to violate human rights. But change is not an over night process. The United States have struggled to define what "freedom" means for centuries and we still do.
How are you so sure Dalai Lama isn't a self-serving theocratic dictator? Do you know the man personally?
you chinese want time to improve your human rights policies. bahahahahahahaahahah!!!! your serious!!!. the US have said that it would drop its arms embargo against the chinese for what they did on tienenmen square if they improve its human rights. its been 19 years, and the embargo is still on; what does that tell you about china. rhetorical question
The United States is no stranger to human right violations as do many countries like Japan. These countries still struggle with this issue today. So what do you make of this? Keep in mind the United State Constitution was established 2 centuries ago.
avatardeci; first of all the americans have stopped such ways dramatically and the japanaese have completely stopped. dont compare human right of america to china; please such arguements is on two different levels of oppression. Second of all; there has been little evidence that chinese have improved their oppressive way; they still do not provide financial securities to vicitms ccp. tienmen has been wiped of history in china. knoweldge is not free in china like it is in US which is wrong.
I beg to differ, it is a known truth that the US still struggle to define their constitution and to whom it extend to. Japan have long since have history of discrimination/ cultural genocide against natives and people of ethnic background respectively that has yet to be resolve. Let along woman who are victimized by rape are still being stifled and encouraged to keep silence. These human rights issues are just as bad if not worst.
In addition; there is no justification for chinese looting land that is not theirs and treating tibetans who want their culture their dalai lama as terrorist to the country. do not justify china by saying oh well the US did it too. well their is difference the US does give natives some autonamy; they own casinos; they get preferential social benefits; I dont see such things in china. the tibet china issue is at extreme levels; if china does not change human rights to tibetan now it never will
you said a mouthful with out providing any evidence for your claims. And unless you personally spoke to the natives in China yourself how are you so sure living condition is as you described? In fact, if you looked more into it there are many human rights websites that will tell you China has improve the living conditions for all it's Citizen.
I suppose its not only the chinese oppressive behaviour that bother me and others, its their arrogance and cockiness when they confront the world. the chinese stil are brainwashed into not knowing what happened on 1989; they still claim absurds arguements such as self defence for killing tibetan across the border of china and india. How can you support a nation like this. I have yet to see japan/US do this on a huge scale to its citizens
The US, Canada, Australia, etc. killed all their natives around 200 years ago. Autonomy? To who? Ghosts? If any country is arrogant and cocky, it's these imperialistic countries. And don't forget that they are STILL imperialistic (think Iraq and other countries who are being 'liberated' in the name of freedom and democracy).
and if dalai lama dont want independence or did not ask for it. then what are those oversea tibetan and supports doing? holding a "free tibet" sign and a picture of dalai lama? would it make more sense if they hold a "automony for tibet" sign, or "no cutural genocide" side.
i live in USA and i strongly agree with one point, "SEPARATION OF GOVERNMENT AND RELIGION"
is that how it goes, cuz i forgot the exact thing. a spiritual leader of a religion should never be political leader of a nation or even in the politics.
living on this planet, is it really matters that what country you from? what language you speak? In China, we have
got more than 100 different languages and cultures for each ethnic, in this regard, I think many countries are the
same. so how different languages and cultures compose the reason that China should broke apart?lastly, can you clearly state what advantage may brought out when Tibet autonomy?
and also, do you think that Chinese government could govern china without supports of Chinese people? therefore in one way or the other, Chinese government=Chinese people. just as representatives in US. US government should represent or follow the wishes of their people. don't tell me that your government could do whatever they want.
you said that racism against coloured people and sexism against women happened 200-300 years ago. i do not agree with that. you misunderstood the Chinese people, because chinese people were not refering to the racism and sexism in America 200 years ago, we are saying that racism still largely exist in America right now in this year, day, and minite. Chinese people did not hold racism against Tibetans. it's not like that you Americans do something wrong, then we Chinese have to follow.
Explain something to me, isn't Tibet already recognized by China as an autonomous region? So how does the going for an autonomous region make any sense? Plus i wanna hear more evidence in how you are absolutely certain that the DaLai Lama won't return back to their "religious practices" (a theocracy) if they were to become "independent"
hmm you say Tibet was never a part of China... what about Ming Dynasty(dynasty that was formed when ethnic Han Chinese overthrew the oppressive Mongols), what about Qing Dynasty(Qing Emperors even pick the Dalai Lamas for Tibet)
What are we protesting for? For a "free" Tibet that was never free in the first place?
For this religious leader called the Dalai Lama who thinks of himself as a living god? A living god whose worshippers were treated as slaves? I shudder just thinking about the human skins that I saw, which was considered acceptable by the Dalai and his sect. D-I-S-G-U-S-T-I-N-G!!!
What would we actually be freeing? A "living god" who would be head of state? Religion and politics should NEVER MIX.
i completely agree wht u said in video. hh 14 dalai lama only want a autonomy under the chinese rule. so tibetan can preserve ttheir relgion and tradional. Chinese government dont listen with wht their people want. after born til death, all deserve freedom of speech and religion.
Dalai Lamas in the past were cannibals and used human body parts to make tools - for that reason alone I cannot blame Chinese government for not wanting to give into any demands from this guy. Also...if something similar happened back in USA (ex: if Texas wanted to break away from the Union) then the US government would certainly put its foot down and position troops & tanks in the streets of all major Texan cities. . . and possibly initiate martial law.
I watched both your vidoes. I am an overseas Chinese. I think your comments were great but it can be potentially seen as attacking the Chinese people as a whole. In contrary to what you have said about slavery, I don't think it can be a subject one should ignore. Americans had never apologised to the native Africans for the slaves trade and look at the American society nowadays, you just can't resist to think there is enormous racism in it.
yea. it is really horrible that our government never offered a former apology. only now are there steps to make it actually happen. racism is a horrible thing. like everyone else i have felt bitter/pointless hate just because of my skin. i grew up in the philippines and b/c i was white i felt it. when i lived in new orleans i felt it. living in hawaii is actually truly ideal when it comes to race relations. everyone here is mixed :)
Why does it need 200 odd years to make a formal apology? And even now we are still counting. Low and behold, there are more upcoming issues and I hate to see that America is the culprit. Therefore, I don't think one should find a speck on other's eye when there is a huge plank in his own. There isn't a country in this world that has a clean human rights record. I am not prochina and I don't think you are antichina either. The reality is that we are both uneasy with unfairness towards mankind.
Tibet have been part of china 4 around800years now!And how long have USbeUS?since1789(recognized date, declared in1776)that's only around200years!The aboriginal problem is not from a long time ago it's now.So y don't everyone just pack up&leave the natives their country? y are we building shopping malls on top of their culture and heirtage? We have no rights to talk about another country when we should b dealing with problems of our own!Don't even get me started on sexslave trade, drug, enviornment
And for you, please, live in China, really try to understand Chinese people, culture and history; do some researches(sources not only from western world), balance bias, and not only believing in the media and surface level words. Then your words will be more convincing to Chinese.
Thank you for speaking out your opinions, tries to respect Chinese people, and reading all those comments any Chinese left. If any Chinese is being rude, i do beg your parden to forgive them. I wish you well.
For high school entrance test or college entrance test in China, Chinese goverment gives a huge discont for Tibetan ethnic students. For example, if I want to go the top 1 Chinese university, i need 750 but Tibetan ethnic approximately needs from 350-400.
Finally, at last, if everyone means what they say and acts it out, then the world will be such a beautiful place~
When Dalai has so much personal profits lies in the independent of Tibet, only judge things on surfac level words seem unfair.
Besides culture is such a big thing, it includes the language, the food, the clothing, the life style and so much more. I don't think that any government can make those disappear as a government wish. However, cultures do dissolve and somtimes the people of the culture do abandon it. I think that is a result of free will rather than "genocide".
Also, Tibet province had gained Autonomy a long time ago. They have their own unique holidays and unique laws.
I think Tibet's case is quite similar to the example I gave. People choose what they want. NOBODY can force them to abandon something, people do pretend to forget something but as the situation lighten, they bring forward what they left behind. And the culture is one of them. When Japanese invaded China, they tried to make Chinese forget who they are, and they did occupy China for quite a long time. Did Chinese people in those area just abandon their background culture? No, they didn't.
I get what you are trying to say. Seriously, i don't think Chinese government is the same as Chinese people. But now, as a member of Chinese people, I still find that saying "culture genocide" really irratating. So, if an American Born Chinese lost his or her Chinese root but their parents don't want that to happened or Chinese government doesn't want that happened. can they sue the U.S. did a "cultural genocide"?
Hawaii university??? Give back Hawaii to japan dude. Wat do u think dalai lama does with all those million and million of money he gets as donation?? Come on they are monks, they don;t need that much money. All the money he gets are secretly going for the funds for the protest. He supports the riot and the fight.
Dalai lama told also this is 21 century,I think there is lot of meaning on it.China is still like 100 year before how they treating to there own people and Tibetans...anyway thank you for your video.
Part 1- You only mentioned American atrocities that happened in the past and are benign now. What about the ones that are still relevant? Yes IRAQ. No, you can't just excuse it. But how about the Lakota Nation? Lakota Indians have declared independence. But Bush opposed. Shouldn't they have their nation back if they wanted it?
Pt 2- You want to talk about genocide? That's REAL genocide. So when is the USA going to give back the Indian's lands? How about if a bunch of foreign countries and peoples protested and shouted for USA to Free Indians? Then? And how would the citizens of USA feel if they were given lectures by foreigners that in essence they are brainwashed if they don't help free the Natives? That they should be told to overthrow their gov't...by foreigners? You don't think AmericanS would say BUTT OUT?
If protesters were actually protesting for better human rights, that might've been better. But they didn't did they. "FREE" Tibet!, "FREE" Tibet! is not the same as protesting for better human rights, which doesn't have to apply to Tibetans only. But FREE Tibet? Well then, BUTT OUT! As Pres. Hu Jintao just said in a statement, it IS China's internal affair.
I don't know. Honestly, I hope this world had never gone to war. I don't think fighting for fairness requires one to resorting to violence, cruelness and worst still they were fighting under the banner of Human Right. Now, I have the prob with that. There will always be a proper channel to voice your opinion regardless of how urgent you think you need to be heard. Violence will never be the solution. I saw the footage about the riot in Tibet from diff sources, I mean I was shocked man!
totally agree with you. the violence was a horrible event. you would think that as a species we would have evolved past war/violence many generations ago.
But don't tell Chinese they are being irrational, not when they see a wheel chair bound Chinese girl bravely fending off crazy protesters grabbing for her torch. She is a national hero and icon now in China all thanks to the west. China has bent over backwards for this Olympics and these actions did not but try to humiliate and piss off China and the Chinese.
You say you've studied in China, have Chinese friends and teachers. Whatever you studied seems to have been from your books only because it's obvious you understand NOTHING about the Chinese people and their psyche. It seems doubtful you've ever even been to China except as a tourist maybe. From your lectures about China, you sound no different from many of the other westerners who preach sanctimoniously, yet get so many things wrong and don't even know it.
Ya, you should buy a better brand of knowledge - maybe if you are going to a state college you should try to buy an education from a better brand name college. More famous = more true information.
I think you should upgrade your knowledge on the ways to play politics if you believe what the dalai lama says. He can say he's not going after independence while two of his brother were hired directly by the CIA to train parachute guerillas, just like your town's parliament candidate say he'll cut tax and turn around support a bill for sales tax increase bill. Even when I was 3, I knew I have to say out loud I'm not a racist too.
I agree with zakkbest 100%!!! For those of you who do not know the history of China or Tibet, (or even know the geographical locality of Tibet, let alone the feudal society of Tibet where Dalai Lama is king, with his monks his royal subjects which only represent 5% of Tibetans, the rest of Tibetans lived lowly, just like the caste society of India), I suggest you people stop pointing fingers at the CCP. Watch the Youtube video of "the Truth about Tibet" put out by Monarex.
On the past and present deeds, well the Americans bombing of Irag under the headline "Shock and Awe" is a million time more brutal than the so called chinese crack down in Tibet.
The Chinese did it to maintain law and order, and the US bombed Iraq to bring democracy to Iraq, and to help Iraqis got rid of President Sadam.
The irony is that Iraq was more peaceful under Sadam Hussein.
u crappy video is not making any different,ur voice is like ash in the universe ,the views explains, nice try.the reality is tibet is a large piece of land ,we want it and we had it,personaly i dont give a fuck to its culture.its none of ur business, its a domestic issue,we have much more smarter ppl deal with it, what u r doing is not a moral behavior, just waste u own time
...Failed policy of the chinese government AGAINST its people.. Your use of the word "Against" stood YOU out as lowly educated but loud mouth. Which Govt in its right mind would come out with policies against its people? Not even the Burmese Junta.
If China had not got rid of the Tibetan warlord and Lama practices of slavery in 50s, Tibetan population would have dwindled because of monks celibacy, malnutrition etc
Thank you for the human right side. China government may not be doing very well on human right now, but I am pretty sure their Tibetan policy is better than they do to most Chinese there in China. Dalai Lama does not ask for independancy of Tibet. Nonetheless, the terms he is asking for from China government is no different than being independent.
your video was not mean to be anti-chinese? anti-china? You were actually said that tibet is not a part of china, Tibetans were not Chinese! You think split china is helping us? I think you 'd better be quite. The more you say the more we got confused!
the last thing i want to say is that i know most people fancy budhism. But please don't confuse the Tibet buddhism (also called Zang Buddhism) with Chinese buddhism(Han buddhism). Chinese buddhism worship Buddha, not allowed to kill animals and blah blah. But Tibet buddhism is more aggresive than Chinese buddhism. I think you have watched the tibet riot video already. Those tibet monks are allowed to act violently. And killing chinese is also allowed because they don't count as human to them.
Who needs to be freed from whom? Let those slave maters go back and keep slaving the innocent people? Didn't US execute Sadam to death? How come they allows giving Dalailama nobel price for peace???? (not to metion CIA even secretly funding him, which is lateky discoverd)
It is the most rediculous thing on earth for those knows the history. You can ask any history professor they will laugh over this and may also be very angry that the westen world didn't respect the human rights for tibetans.
Tibet was one of the darkest place in the earth where their god(Dalailama) is the leader. Dalailama is choosen by worshipers since 2-4 years old and lead the people. 5% of the population are monks and slave masters, while they were controling 99% of the land and resources. The slaves are willing to do anything to please their masters including cutting off their arms and gouge their eye balls for rituals. In Beijing's museum there are evidence such as human skull bowl and shank horns.
And regarding tibet. I don't think you really know about the issue there. I didn't remember you show any figures in your first video about tibet. maybe you did, but i can't recall it. I think your knowledge about tibet is very limited. You can try to read some books and have discussion with any history proffesor. Any reasonable man that knows the truth about tibet will feel it is rediculous to "free" it.
err..you think the chinese gov is evil. But the evidence you provided are out of date. You should not compare today's china with what it was 20 years ago. You must have notice the fast growing economic in china. China now has become far more different than it was during the culture evolution or tiananemn square incidient. You can't just hold your opinion of the old china and not be willing to update it. And China has a much more complicated demographic composition. The situation is not same as
how can tibetans say genocide when the "one child" policy does not apply to them. how can tibetans say they are being suppressed is they don't have to pay taxes. One thing is true is that China is very hard core on any "separtist" group. As you can see, many of the protester are pushing for that with the slogan "free tibet", even with the Dali Lama saying that he only want automomy.
I am a Chinese. I think the Chinese government is trying really hard. During Chairman Mao era (around 1940s to 1970s), much more people were killed. 1989, Chairman Deng opened the China to the world. Otherwise China would be like North Korea now. after 2000, Chinese are allowed to do almost everything you can in the States. You have a lot of Chinese friends and you know they have criticized the CCP
Consider 1.3bn people, 56 ethnics, and many enemies in the world.CCP is doing pretty good so far.
Very naive. I met lots of texian people. They say I am a texian instead of I am an American. I bet you know nothing about the republic of texis. If majority of texian want to be independent, do they have the right to claim independence? Answer it! Open your mind. Do not be sooooooooooooo naive. You can be a friend of Chinese. But that does not mean Chinese people have to accept your naive thought. LOL
That is funny. What made the civil war happen? Lincoln promised south to keep slavery if they abandon independence. Some people were thrown into prison when they organized their own government in Texas. Yeah. I 100% agree with you. THINK ABOUT THAT.

Otherwise, your claims will not be valid. Basic logic. Otherwise, stay away from debating or even verbally attacking other people with different opinions.

DALI LAMA is not equal Tibeten people.
Free is not equal lie!
I understand your American like free. such as free sex with anybody, free sm. free drug, free gun! but I Think it will be not suitable for us. so good luck for you so called free.
kevin7978 3 years ago
perhaps but you still cannot compare the oppression in the western countries to china's. Their has been too much death in china as a result of the ccp violent tendancies to simply ignore and say that it happens in every country nothing to worry about. The fact is that many tibetans have been tortured and killed many falun gong practitioners have been brutally mutilated. Is this something you can say is not a problem and just simply shove it off saying it happens everywhere.
mechysonu 3 years ago
if you get a chance to actually visit tibet in person rather than gathering second hand information here and there, you'll probably discover something very different to what you believe.
asubsk 3 years ago

AvatarDeci 3 years ago 6
you chinese want time to improve your human rights policies. bahahahahahahaahahah!!!! your serious!!!. the US have said that it would drop its arms embargo against the chinese for what they did on tienenmen square if they improve its human rights. its been 19 years, and the embargo is still on; what does that tell you about china. rhetorical question
mechysonu 3 years ago
The United States is no stranger to human right violations as do many countries like Japan. These countries still struggle with this issue today. So what do you make of this? Keep in mind the United State Constitution was established 2 centuries ago.
AvatarDeci 3 years ago
avatardeci; first of all the americans have stopped such ways dramatically and the japanaese have completely stopped. dont compare human right of america to china; please such arguements is on two different levels of oppression. Second of all; there has been little evidence that chinese have improved their oppressive way; they still do not provide financial securities to vicitms ccp. tienmen has been wiped of history in china. knoweldge is not free in china like it is in US which is wrong.
mechysonu 3 years ago
I beg to differ, it is a known truth that the US still struggle to define their constitution and to whom it extend to. Japan have long since have history of discrimination/ cultural genocide against natives and people of ethnic background respectively that has yet to be resolve. Let along woman who are victimized by rape are still being stifled and encouraged to keep silence. These human rights issues are just as bad if not worst.
AvatarDeci 3 years ago
In addition; there is no justification for chinese looting land that is not theirs and treating tibetans who want their culture their dalai lama as terrorist to the country. do not justify china by saying oh well the US did it too. well their is difference the US does give natives some autonamy; they own casinos; they get preferential social benefits; I dont see such things in china. the tibet china issue is at extreme levels; if china does not change human rights to tibetan now it never will
mechysonu 3 years ago
you said a mouthful with out providing any evidence for your claims. And unless you personally spoke to the natives in China yourself how are you so sure living condition is as you described? In fact, if you looked more into it there are many human rights websites that will tell you China has improve the living conditions for all it's Citizen.
AvatarDeci 3 years ago
I suppose its not only the chinese oppressive behaviour that bother me and others, its their arrogance and cockiness when they confront the world. the chinese stil are brainwashed into not knowing what happened on 1989; they still claim absurds arguements such as self defence for killing tibetan across the border of china and india. How can you support a nation like this. I have yet to see japan/US do this on a huge scale to its citizens
mechysonu 3 years ago
The US, Canada, Australia, etc. killed all their natives around 200 years ago. Autonomy? To who? Ghosts? If any country is arrogant and cocky, it's these imperialistic countries. And don't forget that they are STILL imperialistic (think Iraq and other countries who are being 'liberated' in the name of freedom and democracy).
SonnyGoten 3 years ago
and if dalai lama dont want independence or did not ask for it. then what are those oversea tibetan and supports doing? holding a "free tibet" sign and a picture of dalai lama? would it make more sense if they hold a "automony for tibet" sign, or "no cutural genocide" side.

living on this planet, is it really matters that what country you from? what language you speak? In China, we have
got more than 100 different languages and cultures for each ethnic, in this regard, I think many countries are the
same. so how different languages and cultures compose the reason that China should broke apart?lastly, can you clearly state what advantage may brought out when Tibet autonomy?
jimmymonz 3 years ago
So what is this all about? you think you are cool or something?Personally, areas that united to be a country is for
the greater good.check out our civilization history, wars between countries interrupted people's life, destroied our
living environment. what do u think of the reason that Mr Washinton decided to unite all the states? the more
governments the more conflicts brought out. belive it or not, countries will combine into one in the future.
jimmymonz 3 years ago
and also, do you think that Chinese government could govern china without supports of Chinese people? therefore in one way or the other, Chinese government=Chinese people. just as representatives in US.

Chinese people did not hold racism against Tibetans. it's not like that you Americans do something wrong, then we Chinese have to follow.
choujiaoyaya 3 years ago
Explain something to me, isn't Tibet already recognized by China as an autonomous region? So how does the going for an autonomous region make any sense? Plus i wanna hear more evidence in how you are absolutely certain that the DaLai Lama won't return back to their "religious practices" (a theocracy) if they were to become "independent"

Also...if something similar happened back in USA (ex: if Texas wanted to break away from the Union) then the US government would certainly put its foot down and position troops & tanks in the streets of all major Texan cities. . . and possibly initiate martial law.
konman001 3 years ago
I watched both your vidoes. I am an overseas Chinese. I think your comments were great but it can be potentially seen as attacking the Chinese people as a whole. In contrary to what you have said about slavery, I don't think it can be a subject one should ignore. Americans had never apologised to the native Africans for the slaves trade and look at the American society nowadays, you just can't resist to think there is enormous racism in it.
IkSoon 3 years ago
yea. it is really horrible that our government never offered a former apology. only now are there steps to make it actually happen. racism is a horrible thing. like everyone else i have felt bitter/pointless hate just because of my skin. i grew up in the philippines and b/c i was white i felt it. when i lived in new orleans i felt it. living in hawaii is actually truly ideal when it comes to race relations. everyone here is mixed :)
tommycapnpants 3 years ago
Why does it need 200 odd years to make a formal apology? And even now we are still counting. Low and behold, there are more upcoming issues and I hate to see that America is the culprit. Therefore, I don't think one should find a speck on other's eye when there is a huge plank in his own. There isn't a country in this world that has a clean human rights record. I am not prochina and I don't think you are antichina either. The reality is that we are both uneasy with unfairness towards mankind.

When Dalai has so much personal profits lies in the independent of Tibet, only judge things on surfac level words seem unfair.
dalialwhoisbored 3 years ago
Besides culture is such a big thing, it includes the language, the food, the clothing, the life style and so much more. I don't think that any government can make those disappear as a government wish. However, cultures do dissolve and somtimes the people of the culture do abandon it. I think that is a result of free will rather than "genocide".
Also, Tibet province had gained Autonomy a long time ago. They have their own unique holidays and unique laws.
dalialwhoisbored 3 years ago
I think Tibet's case is quite similar to the example I gave. People choose what they want. NOBODY can force them to abandon something, people do pretend to forget something but as the situation lighten, they bring forward what they left behind. And the culture is one of them. When Japanese invaded China, they tried to make Chinese forget who they are, and they did occupy China for quite a long time. Did Chinese people in those area just abandon their background culture? No, they didn't.
dalialwhoisbored 3 years ago
I get what you are trying to say. Seriously, i don't think Chinese government is the same as Chinese people. But now, as a member of Chinese people, I still find that saying "culture genocide" really irratating. So, if an American Born Chinese lost his or her Chinese root but their parents don't want that to happened or Chinese government doesn't want that happened. can they sue the U.S. did a "cultural genocide"?

Part 1- You only mentioned American atrocities that happened in the past and are benign now. What about the ones that are still relevant? Yes IRAQ. No, you can't just excuse it. But how about the Lakota Nation? Lakota Indians have declared independence. But Bush opposed. Shouldn't they have their nation back if they wanted it?
tim8556 3 years ago
Pt 2- You want to talk about genocide? That's REAL genocide. So when is the USA going to give back the Indian's lands? How about if a bunch of foreign countries and peoples protested and shouted for USA to Free Indians? Then? And how would the citizens of USA feel if they were given lectures by foreigners that in essence they are brainwashed if they don't help free the Natives? That they should be told to overthrow their gov't...by foreigners? You don't think AmericanS would say BUTT OUT?
tim8556 3 years ago
part 3- 500 words limit's a pain.
As Pres. Hu Jintao just said in a statement, it IS China's internal affair.

but are they being thrown in jail for wanting independence?
tommycapnpants 3 years ago
I don't know. Honestly, I hope this world had never gone to war. I don't think fighting for fairness requires one to resorting to violence, cruelness and worst still they were fighting under the banner of Human Right. Now, I have the prob with that. There will always be a proper channel to voice your opinion regardless of how urgent you think you need to be heard. Violence will never be the solution. I saw the footage about the riot in Tibet from diff sources, I mean I was shocked man!
IkSoon 3 years ago
totally agree with you. the violence was a horrible event. you would think that as a species we would have evolved past war/violence many generations ago.

The irony is that Iraq was more peaceful under Sadam Hussein.

the last thing i want to say is that i know most people fancy budhism.

You can ask any history professor they will laugh over this and may also be very angry that the westen world didn't respect the human rights for tibetans.
slion640 3 years ago
Tibet was one of the darkest place in the earth where their god(Dalailama) is the leader. Dalailama is choosen by worshipers since 2-4 years old and lead the people. 5% of the population are monks and slave masters, while they were controling 99% of the land and resources. The slaves are willing to do anything to please their masters including cutting off their arms and gouge their eye balls for rituals. In Beijing's museum there are evidence such as human skull bowl and shank horns.
slion640 3 years ago
And regarding tibet. I don't think you really know about the issue there. I didn't remember you show any figures in your first video about tibet. maybe you did, but i can't recall it. I think your knowledge about tibet is very limited. You can try to read some books and have discussion with any history proffesor. Any reasonable man that knows the truth about tibet will feel it is rediculous to "free" it.

err..you think the chinese gov is evil. But the evidence you provided are out of date. You should not compare today's china with what it was 20 years ago. how can tibetans say genocide when the "one child" policy does not apply to them. how can tibetans say they are being suppressed is they don't have to pay taxes. Otherwise China would be like North Korea now. after 2000, Chinese are allowed to do almost everything you can in the States.
