  • Thanks to youtube and the sharing of other's I would not be surprised to see Thin Lizzy's popularity grow and grow................they sure have

    stole my attention.

  • @paddyoshea55 YouTube rock elite?

  • @buttslaya

Yeah, they're the guys that cut of your nuts if you slag off Mogwai. I lost my entire family to them.

  • SOMETHING SACRED

  • This truely is a sound-track for Dublin in the 1970s.

    Tomorrow you'll be a-blushing white...

You see the ball go from bat to wicket...

That's a way to pass away the afternoon...

  • thank you...

  • One of my all time favourite songs - sheer genius!

  • HOW IS IT UNDERRATED! my songs that i made with my friends are underrated, in fact they were NEVER rated ,this is awesome and thin Lizzy are awesome and they have always be recognized as such!, jeez the YouTube rock elite is so fucking pretentious!

  • @paddyoshea55 With all due respect to Ireland, I think the ones who are saying this are Americans. Unfortunately over here they weren't as big. They didn't get quite the exposure here. Our loss. Still, I talk to true music fans my age and it's always agreed that they are one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • This is Lizzy, just Lizzy, please dont you dare try and steal it,, yes Metalica, the Darkness, Def Leopard, and countless others, keep this as it is,

  • Which version is this?

  • @Doyle141 the original album version

  • ez a szam elkepeszto!szegyen hogy ilyen kevesen hallgattak meg:(( beatiful song!

  • it is my favorite solo of all time i hope no one destroys this song like metallica did whiskey in the jar

  • R.I.P....PHIL LYNOOT......THE GOD OF ROCK

  • One of the most beautiful solos I've ever heard.

  • Classic Lizzy.

  • <3 This song never dies. And I agree with emehaudy. Extremely underrated...

  • I just have to agree, fantastic guitar solo from a fantastic group with one of the greatest leads ever, Phil you meant as much to me that I guess Elvis did to my older generation. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

  • from one of my all time fav LP's... Although T/L had & has a huge fan base i think they are still underrated! Phil was in no doubt a musical genius.. with Eric Bell & Brian Downey were a trio of pure magic! i know Lizzy went on to gr8r things but the 1st 3 albums they done as a trio are just Classic!

  • true that guitar solo is magic moreover if you listen to the original Decca Lp from 1073! ;)

  • imagine it without the vocals as this song begins..this could be Mogwai..Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy forever!

  • I love this song!!!

    *****

Please visit my ROCK HISTORY CHANNEL!

  • The man was ahead of his time. This could've been released today as an indie rock song. It would've killed today too.

I sure hope the RHCP don't try to cover this.

  • @LiveGoat : This was actually already covered by Ted Leo & The Pharmacists on the "Treble In Trouble" EP, and it's a solid cover that's very faithful to the original.

  • trés bien tu est le meilleure

  • @3858czaicka Oui, Thin Lizzy ont fait Irelande fier.

  • @3858czaicka Oui, Thin Lizzy ont fait enorgueillir

  • Song is awesome. Never appreciated Eric Bell until I just heard this. Gonna go try to find more gems now.

  • I was very priveliged to meet with Phil Lynott after a gig at Lancaster University in the late 70's on the JailBreak Tour.

    Some gentle giant he was!

A memory that will stay with me for ever.

    So soft spoken and couteous.

Got his autograph on the back of a Silk Cut fag packet - something I will always treasure.

    M

  • Phil Lynott le meilleur .... et une voix inégalée

  • Diamond Rings for the World! On me! On our memories.

  • my dad sang this to me when i was born so it was the first song i ever heard.!

    i love thin lizzy.!

buzzin for the vibe next january.!

  • The band have an unfortunate rep in the US as meathead rockers, but stuff like this shows they were really great Irish romantic poets in leather jackers. Great stuff. I visited Phil's grave in 2001 when I was in the lovely Emerald Isle.

  • Absolutely.

They have the same reputation elsewhere :(

  • Always one of my fav Lizzy songs, can't understand why its not more widely known and appreciated. If you like melodic Irish rock try listening to the Aslan album Live at Vicker St

  • true cant beet the 70's man1! fucking ace

  • Gorgeous.

I have this song and a few more of their earlier songs on a CD called, The Hero And The Madman.

  • wow they were as good and as original and enigmatic as Led Zeppelin, Im just now discovering they're music, boy they Rocked hard and were so melodic, I love the guitar harmonies in they're songs as much as I do Metallica's.

  • Vagabonds and jailbreak are my two favourite albums from Lizzy, and two of the best rock albums of the 70's

  • johnny the fox!

  • masterpiece!!! insanely underrated, even within an already underrated band.

  • so true my friend. the lurics are from the past and the future. Phil had a gift.

  • @emehaudy so so so true!!!

  • I don't understand why there are so few people who listen to it. It's really good music, but the last comment is a month old.

  • This song is one of their best !! TITS !

  • One of my favourite guitar solos ever!!

  • yep, this solo is great. one pof my favourites as well ^^

  • like no one else, eric bell took you on a journey. so unique. glad to finally find some kindred spirits

  • @Lamuro you are so right

  • Another good song by Thin Lizzy.

  • Takes me back to the 70's when I first got into Lizzy. Phil's lyrics are truly great.

  • This song and Honesty Is No Excuse are the best Lizzy songs from the first 3 albums. Beautiful songs.

  • I love both of those songs, as well as the title track from Shades of a Blue Orphanage. "Sarah" is also a really beautiful ballad.

  • love the guiter part

  • personally my favourite thin lizzy song

  • i love this song :)

  • i can't beleave this song havent had more than 1200 views.... love this song!

  • +++++++

  • RIP Philo...Vagabonds was my soundtrack to growing up in Dublin 73-75

  • .. =)

  • kick ass, was phil lynott ever not a badass?

  • Ha haa,nice one brother.

Superman wears a Phil Lynott shirt.

There simply is no better music than Thin Lizzy. Such a shame they are not more popular here in the states.

No matter,I feel like they are rockin' just for me.

I know exactly where I was the day he died.

I can't say that about anyone else.

  • "I know exactly where I was the day [Phil] died."

    I do as well.

"It was a rainy night, the day the King went down; everyone was cryin,' it seemed like sadness had surrounded the town...."

I miss that guy every damn day.
