You use Bernoulli's for the conservation of energy calculation to tell how far the water would travel, assuming no frictional losses (which is a ridiculous assumption in the first place). State one, water is under pressure. State two, water has a potential energy/distance above the earth.

At the speeds you'd need, water would become turbulent and no longer act as a free stream, eliminating the proposed "jet". Calculate Reynolds number for the verification.
