And while we are on the subject...I guess it really doesn't matter anyway, because these kids are not really being baptized as a Christian. They are just joining a cult. - After all, the Bible clearly states that ones should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit...and the J-Dubs DO NOT baptize in the name of the Holy Spirit. On this basis, many believe they are not true Christians.
Funny video and great song!!!. But I think Calorina was a big poser or a emo, because, the goths don't hate the world and ain't anti-americans. And the goths love the mother nature and she hate everything.
The video is cute, but I think you guys are missing the point. This song is supposed to be sarcastic, not about love. And it's not about religion either.
The only reason they said "Jehovah" made this joint for you is because if they said "God" made this joint for you, people would be pissed. Clever, but kinda' makes me mad.
It's funny to watch you theists change your arguments and definitions each time attempting to explain the infinite, yet never being able to explain how it is you finite (in fact infinitely small) beings are able to comprehend the greatness and will of such an entity. Blasphemy is speaking sacrilegiously of sacred things and this song fits the bill to perfection. Personally I don't believe in the sacred or in the sacrilegious, at least not to the extent you might have me believe in them.
And no, no-one will be inducted into theism for hearing the word Jehovah, putting the human mind and belief system in such disneyesque terms is just an insult, an oversimplification of something far more complex. Conversion takes indoctrination and is a far more complex thing than "learning the Divine Name through this song".
Would you deny people watching the life of Brian? Even though it is clearly about someone who is not Jesus, because the Jewish Superstition of Mention the word "Jehovah" was blasphemy. (That meal was fit for Jehovah)
Would you deny people watching the coneheads as the FBI Pretend to be witnesses, they also mention the name "Jehovah." But it is not blasphemy, remember Jehovah is the god of Happiness.
It is not I that denies anyone anything. This by definition can be considered blasphemy, and I recognise that despite the fact I don't believe in blasphemy nor in a divine entity. My initial comment was mockery, not a serious comment. I find it pathetic the way theists come here calling this video and song blasphemous perhaps for the same reason you do. I call it "sarchasm": the enormous gap between a persons ironic antiphrase and the intended recipient who misunderstands completely.
ummm, I didn't say it was blasphemous. I was arguing the point that merely invoking the name of the almighty doesn't always mean that it's blasphemy. As a person well versed in scripture, I am aware of exactly what blasphemy is.
Blasphemy is simply, the sin against the holy spirit
I never suggested you said it was blasphemous. You should read more carefully. I assure you, I know what blasphemy is despite not believing in it, and I assure you, there are people that consider this blasphemy even though I agree that it probably shouldn't be considered as such.
I never said babies should be baptized. Can you read? The Watchtower said that babies do NOT need to be baptized, because they are "holy" in God's eyes IF their PARENTS are baptized JW's. So, I can only assume the others are unholy and will be killed.
If you are a witness, what are you doing on YouTube? Shouldn't you be "repenting" for having any kind of emotional response to the world around you? Or who knows, maybe after watching this, you'll be 'demonized' since your faith is a 'lil bit shakey from only getting 20 hours last month. Hurry up and you can make it to the shoe store to get your track suit, Nikes and Kool-Aid mix.
"I am sory that you feel the way you do Jehovah will avenge those taking his name in vain." --- Yup, a loving God. - Did you know that the witnesses also teach that the babies of those that are not baptized JW's are going to DIE at Armageddon?
Umm Earth to GungHo1032, Jesus wasn't baptized when he was a baby, He was baptized when he was older. So the jehovah's witnesses follow the way of jesus. So please... stop posting "shit".
"ummmm.jehovahs witness are not a clut.and the only reason a nine year old would get baptized is because they think their ready. " --- Oh, how nice. They THINK they are ready. - What if they think they are ready to drive a car, enter into contract or get married? Do we go ahead and let them do that too?
@108thFifthColumn sasha was slightly off, its not just what the "9 year old" decides but also if their parents and the elders agree that they are ready.
The bottom line is that a nine year old is making a lifetime decision that may end up haunting them after they become an adult. - Do you really think a nine year old can fully understand that if he votes, has a birthday party, or saves a life with blood, or commits some other "serious" sin (roll eyes) that he will be cut off and shunned by all his family and friends? - It is wrong no matter how you cut it. There are REASONS why minors are not allowed to make adult decisions.
@EMTecBOB yes they do understand and if they don't their parents will prevent them from getting baptized and if they really want to vote for a government that they dont believe in (because the bible is all about gods government, why would someone who wanted that, vote for mans government)
celebrate something they never had before, or steal from god (all life and blood belong to him) than clearly they never had any real friends in the congregation and it wouldn't be a big loss. besides a lot of religions baptize babies and it is VERY rare for a 9 year old to get baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses
So now as a JW, you are saying that it is OK to baptize nine year old's, because other religions baptize babies? - You are grasping at straws, just like most other J-Dubs. After all, it is getting harder and harder to to cover up over a hundred years of false prophecy and bad doctrine isn't? - BTW, WHY did Jesus wait until he was 30 to get baptized? And why does the Society condemn young marriage?...saying you should wait until you are past the "bloom of youth?" Hmmmmm? - Open your eyes...think!
if they decide to support mans government when they are older their baptism would not be a problem b/c it only means something while you are a witness and no witness would support a government run by men
no, what i am saying is why should you have such a problem with it when other religions do it much younger.
different people get baptized at different ages and like i said it is VERY rare to get baptized that young. i have never even heard of anyone getting baptized near that age and i think i would have before you
Are you really this obtuse, or are you just being a troll? - Using your reasoning, nine year old's could drive a car, enter into contract, vote, join the military, or do anything....as long as it is OK with the parents. - And how do you know they won't grow up to believe in governments run by man? How many nine year old's retain the same values when the are adults?
@EMTecBOB im still having trouble determining why your comparing baptism to all of those things.
baptism is a promise to both god and yourself that when ready a person can make when they are ready, its not at all similar to driving a car or joining the military, and as far as contracts go depending on the type of contract and location its signed people can do that at different ages
and by your reasoning someone can join the military or anything else they wanted at 15 which is the same age they can drive a car. you see something you failed to realise is that not everything is restricted to the same rules as to when you can do it
just like you can eat solid food when your parents ok it but you cant smoke until your 18 or drink until 21
The reason you do not understand, is because you lack critical reasoning skills. The concept of children changing their mind is a simple one to grasp, but it seems to be beyond you. Why is that? BTW, you cannot enter into legal contract until you are 18 years old. What planet do you live on to think otherwise? - Again, no adult should be held responsible for any choices they make when they are nine years old...but if they join the JW cult, they will be.
i understand that people change their minds what i dont understand is why you compare baptism to those things. and you are correct you cannot go into legal contract until 18 but until now you never mentioned it being a legal contract not to mention that baptism has nothing to do with legalities of any country so the laws of any country shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not it is ok to get baptized, no matter the age
He compares it to baptism, because when you are baptized as a JW, you are JOINING their religion. Or should I say so called religion. They are actually a Satanic cult.
you clearly didn't get it earlier so i'll word it differently. if someone changes their mind later in life and wishes to leave the congregation they simply no longer come to meetings or any other functions related to the jws. you see if they DECIDE to no longer be jehovah's witnesses then they just aren't. its that easy. and i suppose you consider mormons, scientologists, and many other religions cults also
Emtec, this kid is either a moron or pulling your chain. No one could be that stupid. - But let me try to explain it to this challenged individual.....IF your family are all JW's and you do NOT get baptized, and you quit going to the meetings they will still be able to talk to you. BUT, if you get baptized, and then quit or get disfellowshipped, you will be cut off and shunned. If you were a JW, you would know this, that's why I think you are either a moron or a troll.
correct, i never denied any of this, what i said was that if you were to go against everything you have ever been taught and everything all your friends and family believe than you clearly weren't very dedicated to these people otherwise you wouldn't be looking in the opposite direction as them and you wouldn't find yourself with different values and morals. people don't suddenly change their minds it happens slowly and people that REALLY enjoyed jehovah's witnesses and the congregation wouldn't
Just that easy huh? Well, considering that many JW have families that are J-Dubs, and all their so called friends are J-Dubs, it really is not that easy. How would YOU feel if tomorrow you woke up and none of your family or friends would talk to you anymore? All because you don't believe in their version of Christianity anymore!
Actually, Scripturally, The Bible Teaches that a son cannot be held for the sins of his father.
And also the world children in the bible may also be rendered as figurative (Children of God, Children of The Devil, Offspring of Vipers, etc.) You need to go back to the original languages to get the context, please do that and then come back.
Hot chick in the red.....just goes to show you all the wrong reasons why I used to attend meetings, conventions, and assembly's - to simply seek out hot ass sexy sisters......praise Jah for putting such beautiful sisters on this earth.....instant wood!!

Too use god's name in a non religious context is not blasphemy. Blasphemy is defined as the willfully sinning against the holy spirit.
If anything a lot more people will get to learn the Divine Name "Jehovah" through this song. Have you considered it that way?
