Sad to say all the teams that were good in the old days, suck now. My school used to go to nationals every year. Now we struggle to make it to states. Dedication, discipline and, hard work no longer exist in the program.

its a Senior High School in San Antonio, TX named after Winston Churchill so just about every team drill, color, honor guard is named after a British regiment

i would say the exhibition is pretty good, but not as good as marmion academy flannigan rifles of 2007's exhbition, and that one guy in the beginning screwed up, 2 hands are allowed on the rifle at once
i wouldnt say that flannigan dominates regulation. not even close. patriot guard from francis lewis definitely takes it. but i think that flannigan did dominate the trick category at nationals last year if you saw them. everything was uniform and almost perfect.
The commander of the team was the BN commander. The rank it's real, just for uniform purposes. They did everything together, we believed that we were only as strong has our weakest link. With Maj. Mike...we weren't weak!
where to start...Black Watch isn't what they used to be because Maj. Mikesell retired. He drilled his teams hard. The class B uniforms were used because of Nationals. The was no rank on drill team. The teams consisted of the best. The teams were formed during the summer. Sometimes freshmen made it, usually not!
Its common courtesy in the military to salute back, even for the officers. and after the prepatory command, the commanders says "ho". its an army thing
Its respectful to return the salute when saluted, but not everyone does. Not sure what he's saying, but it really doesn't matter as long as the platoon responds properly and uniformly.
Order Go, Open Ranks Go, Dress Right Go, Ready, Go, and when calling them to attention, I'm guessing he says "Drill team, atten-hut." Like Sceptileovergrow said, the commander can basically choose what command he/she wants to call in exhibition. **Not 100% sure about that though** lol

Too many officers, my guess is its for uniformity because of the fact that everyone but the squad leaders are c/2LT, the squad leaders are c/1LT, and the commander appears to be c/CPT, very straight forward.

The first clip is their Squad Ex in 1999. Now, this year in 2007, BW is no longer what they once were. BW has gone downhill. I really wonder what has happened to the team. Though their Armed Ex isn't great, their Unarmed Ex was in the top 5 this year.

Its common courtesy in the military to salute back, even for the officers. and after the prepatory command, the commanders says "ho". its an army thing

Its respectful to return the salute when saluted, but not everyone does. Not sure what he's saying, but it really doesn't matter as long as the platoon responds properly and uniformly.

Order Go, Open Ranks Go, Dress Right Go, Ready, Go, and when calling them to attention, I'm guessing he says "Drill team, atten-hut." Like Sceptileovergrow said, the commander can basically choose what command he/she wants to call in exhibition. **Not 100% sure about that though** lol

Its a Churchill tradition I guess to not say the last command. For example. Dress right dress would be Dress right, HO!. Its not really a ho...more like a hua. Not sure how to spell it because i dont think its ever been written down.

Squad is 8 to 11 plus commander. Platoon is 12 and up plus commander. Other than that, nothing. They are both team exhibition phases.

Nope. Inspection, Regulation and Squad Exhibition are all the first day. Platoon exhibition, solo and tandem are on the next day.

way to go Black Watch...this team along with many other San Antonio teams have consistently placed in the National finals...San Antonio seems to dominate when it comes to high school jrotc and band competitions...

Too many officers, my guess is its for uniformity because of the fact that everyone but the squad leaders are c/2LT, the squad leaders are c/1LT, and the commander appears to be c/CPT, very straight forward.

alrite dude. well this movie was made a little while ago. okay then. umm .. the beginning of this year i praised black watch. b/c of this and other past videos of them. i mean like .. these vids. really got me hooked. but .. if you went to nationals .. everything really started to fall apart when mike moad left their team. he was the BN CMR. and well .. lets say that black watch is slipping farther and farther away from what it used to be

The first clip is their Squad Ex in 1999. Now, this year in 2007, BW is no longer what they once were. BW has gone downhill. I really wonder what has happened to the team. Though their Armed Ex isn't great, their Unarmed Ex was in the top 5 this year.

nope from Oxon hill(1st in unarmerd dual this year) over in maryland..... although im on the unarmed team I do guidon for the team and know armed drill as well
