I wasn't a spouse, but after seven years teaching in Asia, I am really having a hard time adjusting. All I can think is that I want to go back. However, after my last hagwon experience, which left me broke, I do not want to return with nothing to fall back on if I have to break a contract. But unemployment here is so bad I can barely cover gas and groceries with the one job that finally hired me. Most days I fell like I am living someone else's life, not mine. I want my old life back.
