I agree. No pick for he plucks at the end unless he just dropped the pick. Have been experimenting, myself, with finger style and I've found it to be very rewarding with increased dexterity, variety, and mobility. I believe, without a pick, is how he developed his slap, mute, strum style.

You need to drop the low E string down to C. When you play D minor add the fifth fret on the low string. That makes the chord Dm/F. Make sense?

k pretty much it is a Dm, but what you do is bar the 5th fret and mute the top E string(the lower octave one), and then play and Am while barring that. hope that helps.

I was having the same problem but I finaly found a good video that explained it At the beginning he is struming a C cord but he is hammering on the 4th string while he does it. Then after the first lyrics, starting with "A map to keep.." He is playing an A shaped bar chord on the 5th fret Your first finger bar all the strings on the 5th fret except the 6th your middle finger is on the 2nd string 6th fret and your ring finger is the 4th string 7th fret and your pinky is on the 3rd string 7th fret

While he is doing the 5th bar cord he is putting pressure on the strings then loosing the pressure to mute Then you go back to the C cord and back to the 5th bar cord when neccessary. For the chorus he is playing the same shaped bar cord as the 5th fret you just start at the 7th fret then finish on the 5th. Kind of hard to explain but I try It goes du---du dunt. du dunt dunt du dunt du then repeat. Verse is on the 5th twice then the chorus is 7th once then 5th once Sorry if I'm not being clear.
