I used to be a big Carlos fan but as time went by (and I grew up, older, and hopefully wiser) I would listen to him speak and realized that we had absolutely nothing in common (other than my love for his music). @dismah no es eso dismah, es que Santana como Slash y Hendrix basan la guitarra en fraseos , en melodias que se salen de patrones. Yngwie dio vuelta el mundo de la guitarra pero es otra cosa, mucho mas tecnica y escalas para velocidad.

Pero Santana no es mediocre, tal vez te suene asi hoy, es facil de copiarlo pero para componer como lo hace el , los temas que hizo y sus solos....nada... muy poquita gente llega solo ahi.

@dismah You're right. My apologies.  I agree that Yngwie and Jason play with emotion. I just think Santana is on another level interms of what he conveys with his music. His albums, and his sound have basically been adopted by the Mexican people as "their" sound. Like, when he talks about love, or struggle, or joy, thats THEIR love, struggle, or joy. Its just really kind of neat... to think that most countries have a national anthem to express their character. Mexico has Santana as well.

What's more, there are other guitar masters, such as Satriani,Vai, Macalpine,G Howe, Al Di Meola, and the list goes on. Slash is a good guitar player, but not a master. All of these guitarist have their own style, Slash is average at best.

Estuve viendo videos de Santana para justamente poder hablar con criterio sobre él.

Cité otros guitarristas de otros estilos que pueden tocar exactamente lo mismo que santana y mucho más.

Con 3 meses de practica de guitarra, tocás lo mismo que este chanta.
