    Great stuff !

  • @kaattzy yeah he's a very good singer and writer Kashif, but i have always thought he was a bit underrated but he is such a talent.thanks for watching. CARL

  • In The Netherlands it went all up to Number 4 in the charts in 1972: one of the Dutch all time favourites!!

  • @mohawk3881 trust you to spot that lol,i was very tired when i made this video but he did look a bit like him i this picture.thanks for watching. CARL

  • There`s some of his new tracks on my Gilbert channel - great songs even after all these years- come over and see !. Matrimony was on his first album HIMSELF in 1971 and I don`t believe it was ever a single in the UK .

  • @gloheart1 Glad you liked this one Gloria as i am planning on trying to upload some more from this singer in the near future.hope your day is going well. CARL

  • @PASSIONMAN47 ha ha,at least you know where to come to hear new stuff Vic,i love the lyrics to this one,its a great song and i will be uploading more by this singer soon but next time they will be his hit songs.thanks for watching. CARL

  • Couldn't stand this guy at the time CARL,I thought he looked ridiculous in his short trousers and cap ! lol .. He's grown on me since though and I quite like him now, this is a terrific bouncy number,,good posting CARL !!

  • @MusiqueMaestro1 "why not" lol, his dress sense was a bit odd at times but he made up for this with his catchy little songs which i believe he wrote most of himself.i like the one "Alone again naturally" which even though was a bit sad was a good song.thanks for watching Mick and i hope you have had a good day. That offer to come round and do my gardens is still open you know lol.i did not get round to doing them myself. CARL

  • another great song from the hot summer of 1976, I like Gilbert very much, thanks Carl, great upload again.

  • @PPandTheGM i remember the summer of 1976 Steffen and it was hot,i got seriously sun burnt that year, and we are not used to that sort of heat in this country LOL,we get more rain than sunshine.thanks for watching. CARL

  • made some good songs. like it.

  • @countrybill Hi Bill, yeah i have most of his early songs but i believe he is still making new ones today but i don't know any of them.hope you have had a good day. CARL

  • Love all Gilbert's stuff, great writer, sadly his hits had dried up by the time this was eventually released.

    Good post Carl.

  • @YCSMusic yeah he made some good songs Steve,i had to check up the year of this one as i thought it was earlier than 1976,he's still performing today.thanks for watching. CARL

  • @TheOldrecordclub Yes Carl it's from 1971 but didn't get released till '76.

I had tickets to see him last year at Symphony Hall B'ham but he cancelled the show.

  • @YCSMusic i thought this song was earlier than 1976, i take it,it was on an album and only released as a single in 1976,thanks for the info Steve, much appreciated. CARL

  • @YCSMusic I saw him at the Symphony Hall in 2007 - great show . Matrimony was on his first album in 1971 but was never a single in the UK . Gilbert was still having hits in the early eighties .

  • @mohawk3881 I was looking forward to seeing him...never mind, he'll be back Yes I remember What's In A Kiss being a hit in 1980 but his regular stream had ceased, changing trends and Radio 1 ruling the roost no doubt.

  • @YCSMusic He DID come back - The Birmingham Town Hall in February this year - you must have missed it ! The main problem was the legal case - between 1982 and 1987 he wasn`t allowed to release anything - 5 years is a long time so the momentum was broken. Since 1990 though he has released an album about every 2 years - quality stuff that deserves to be heard more .

  • @mohawk3881 I've listened to tracks from the new album on your channel, he's still got it !!

Yes I missed the advert and didn't know he was at the BTH.
