@scaryplane hahaha TWA merged with American Airlines, and the number said NW which means NWA (North Western Airlines) they merged with Delta you got it all wrong buddy!
No, what you're seeing are wing vortices - more visible than usual because of moisture coming off the wings. An airline would only ever dump fuel in an emergency situation.
i flew on delta, on the same aircraft type about 2 months ago to JFK from MAN. Great aircraft and airline, fantastic service. good landings both times, even with strong winds, also flying over the alantic was fun stuff with the turbulence.
ya and i was completly lost at what runway it was comin in you would think that with a plane like that they would tell people about 30 mins b4 it came but oh well i get it another time
It happened to me the day the QANTAS A380 made her first visit to Heathrow. She had to abort the landing on the planned runway where we were stood because of wind sheer but then she landed on the opposite runway following the go around.
Any chance this came from AMS? I know NWA used to do inter-Europe routes, I think...

roryj123ok 1 year ago
That was a pretty hard landing, but it might have been because of the wind conditions.

And a 757 isn't fitted w/fuel dump anyway.

@flaretoohigh I believe some are?
scaremengaviation 1 year ago
@flaretoohigh Wait, disregard that.
scaremengaviation 1 year ago
@mcpcshowcaseHD or to lighten the load to be under max landing weight. the vortex is there because of high humidity in the air
Kopihucky 1 year ago
@DeltaAirtran yes he is dumping fuel all over the lovely English countryside for a laugh, sure its only fuel, we may as well waste it. lol
