As for charging to see a sacred ceremony is exploitation, I would love to see you refuse to help pay for the powwow (through admission fees and other charges) and argue that it is "exploitation". Once again, I'm very interested what tribe you are a part of. You say she's living on land that was forcefully taken from native americans, but the reason why many of the tribes west of the mississippi settled there was because of the Iroquois Confederation taking their original land. @mewabe4 No exploitation...at all. I only charge for the food and the time spent with them (approximately 5 hours) before the sweat. The sweat part is free. But important to note is that it takes me 3 days in the least, to prepare for a sweat. If I gave it all without being gifted back in some way, then I would be the one being exploited. A balance of give and take is necessary for all humans in all endeavours. Wishing only the highest and purest outcomes in your life for 2012!
