This is an amazing song... used for a TV show that helps Australians in need. Really shows what we believe in. If someone or another country needs our hep, we do our best to raise money as a whole to help them, not sit down and do nothing expecting everyone else to do all the work. So when given the chance, reach out and touch somebody :)
In Celebration of Australia Day, i just had to play an Aussie Track from an Aussie Band. Touch by Noiseworks from 1988, Australia's 200th Anniversary.
I LOVED this band... BLOODY LOVED THEM!!! This is one of the best songs any australian band has EVER released.... Jons voice is amazing... still amazing....
On a holidy I met e two Australian girls Kate and Ann so I decided to buy some music from down under and one off them was Noiseworks one of the songs I love the most is Reach Out, the same I love Beds a burning from the patriots Midnight Oil, Barney Bentall and a lot more, it is a while ago but I am still interesting in this kind of music and still searching for.....that's why YouTube is a fantastic place to find more, music from all kind of countries.....
To all those comparing Noiseworks to The Kings of Leon both bands I love, I was watching Noiseworks play in Brisbane pubs while the kings of Leon were still in nappies, rock on boys you still have!
Here's some trivia - I edited this with the director Steve Hopkins, who went on to Hollywood and directed Predator 2, Ghost and the Darkness, Lost in Space, Life and Time of Peter Sellers, co-created 24 and Kalifornia. Talented bastard to say the least. I had sooo many wonderful edit sessions with him. Great band, great director and I'm very proud of this clip ( as well as about 7 others I worked on for the boys)
@80sOldSkool I wasn't on the shoot but I believe it was down the South Coast somewhere, not too far down - maybe Kiama. I know he directed a Wa Wa Nee video down there, but this one I'm not sure about. Editing-wise, I cut it in Crows Nest. Thanks for the comments. Youtube is bringing back my working life in the 70's and 80's. Take Me Back, No Lies, Voice of Reason, Welcome to the World and my own directing/editing gig for them, Hot Chilli Woman. I'm blessed to have worked with such great people
I will never forget our road trip round the South Island and the Noiseworks Tape got stuck in the car stereo so we had to listen to them for the entire time, What a chore... lol never got sick of it and singing their songs at the top of our lungs.

With what has happen in south eastern Queensland this song means so much to us so Reach Out Australia and show the world our fighting spirit and mateship in these difficult times.
This song envokes everything that we stand for as Australians, stand for what's right and fight for the good things and just deep down.... to reach out to people. The world is all mixed up of different view points and different cultures and different religions trying to keep it constant. Yet you wonder why the worlds gone nuts, being there for people and being selfless is what makes an Aussie, not by trying be better than others but by showing you care. .

Best aussie rock anthem of all time, forget ac/dc & the rest, this song has the " hook " of a lifetime, its hard yet beautifula t the same time what else can i say :)
I saw these guys in Paris, the ticket was really cheap and it came with a free 7-inch. I lost the record when I moved to the States, unfortunately. I could never understand why these guys never made it big. They had it all. Great songs, great sounds, handsome looking, great live musicians... ?!? They could have made it REALLY big. Mystery.
Yeah man, I'm an expat been living away from Austarlia for 2 years in Ireland. I always watch Australian music videos reminds me of home and how great Australia really is.
Do you think this song makes me think about how cool it was growing up in Australia (since Im now living in good ol Blighty - But I'll be back ...... fear not ....... because Australia will always be home!)
Degafra2 - I think its pathetic that you've made this great Youtube clip a platform for a business whinge. If you have a problem with Noiseworks then contact NOISEWORKS. Dont come on here with this rubbish. Jon's my cousin and its not hard to contact him - unless of course you're just attention seeking at his expense. Why would Ian Moss care about details?
saw them team up with the choirboys at the hallam hotel last year, absolutely brilliant and just as good as when they first came onto the scene. This is REAL music played by REAL people using REAL instruments.
