Although I was only four then, I look at this and think "Ahh, the good ole' days"! I grew up spending my summers in Florida during the 80's & early 90's and I miss that. Thanks for sharing.
People were so cool back then. Everyone was more laid back, approachable and easy going. Even the tourists! BUT go back to S. Florida today, or anywhere for that matter, and you will see how the attitudes have changed. People today are more paranoid, suspicious and mean-spirited of each other. Very sad.
those where some crazy times. i was to young to enjoy the lauderdale years but i heard the stories from my older brothers. my first of many spring break was daytona '91 and again in '92. after that we hit up nassau and then montego bay a few times but nothing compared to the daytona breaks. god, what i wouldn't give to have those days back! the early 90's were definitely a different time. our only concern was what to drink and where the party was!
I was there in '84. I remember The Candy Store, Summers, and Penrods!, (flash of the sign in this piece brought it back). One of the best times I ever had. Party on the beach all day, bars at night with the wet-T contests. Man that was great!
I did a one man guitar solo gig upstairs in the Elbo Room, and played daily on the patio at Penrods.. looking back now its like an 80's movie! Best, Jeff Brian.
I'm having a flashback of this spring break. I remeber standing on the opposite side of the highway and throwing a tennis ball accross the highway and bouncing it off the window of a resturaunt on the other side and catching it on the return.
Totally missed out on the 80s. College kids now adays are so worried about images and cliquey shit. This, back then, seems it was all about having a good time.. not posing pictures on facebook. Man I wish I was around in 85 to party at Ft Lauderdale. I'm going down this year but shit.. If only I was 21 in 85, how awesome my life would have been.
Hey I remember this video from class! I really need to get out there and shoot more. Got to HDV cam, and works pretty well, but not finessed my FCPro Studio 2.....

I remember being a kid walking around the middle of that, I was about 9 yrs old.
My grandfather's condo was a block away from The Candy Store, and every time I passed I'd try to get a peek of the wet t-shirt contests, lol..

I was there that year! That's exactly how I remember it. Thankfully, I was NOT wearing a Speedo. We shut down the Candy Store like 6 nights in a row.
I apologize for the hair.
