  • I love the arguments about 20 year old technology. I had a '94 SHO and now own a '99 528, the sho was more raw and ahead of its time, the 528 more refined and solid better build qualty. I do miss the Ford though and want an '89 SHO.

  • Aww btw you can email me at shokid89@gmail.com. what's good?

  • This SHO is stock, I would know because I have one and lastnight pulled on a 04 Cadillac DTS also a Grand Prix GTP or GXP whatever and also pulled on a 07 Impala SS. If I have to prove this to anybody your more than welcome to meet me in Milwaukee and email me when your here. The 89 is also the fastest since the 2010 SHO do to the power and weight ratio fact and if driven right can do 0-60 in 6.5 and 15 secs flat in a quarter. Holla at me bro! This shit is real!

  • this is got to be modded. no way these 89's are faster than the late 90's SHOs

  • @chinchillawrangler i disagree.

  • @chinchillawrangler The 89 can be faster than a later 90's because the power to weight ratio. The 89 is the lightest of all years because.. well all 89 owners can agree that the interior is a little cheap compared to the other gens. The 89 was the lightest of all years and is known to be the fastest. I do agree that this one is not stock doing a 0-60 in 5.7 when stock it did 6.6. I own a gen 1,2&3. The speed goes according to gen #, 1,2&3. 1 being the fatstest, 2 still fast and 3 was...a wreck

  • Every 80s and early 90s sho owner thinks they have a fast work of art. In reality there the biggest piece of sh.t to ever be on a public road. Mini vans perform better.

  • @okus Sounds like some one has never owned an SHO. Bet you didnt know asshole that in 1989 the only 4 door luxury sedan was a BMW 5 serice that was over 50k. Also bet you didnt know that if there was no revlimiter or accessories on this car it would redline at 16,000 RPMS.

  • @Etnricer Hahaha ur so full of shit. 16,000 RPMs huh. BTW there were other 4 door luxury sedans in the worlds the BMW. Ever hear of Mercedes - Benz?

  • @sirbuick I know there where more 4 door luxury sedans. But there wern't any that went 0-60 in 6.4 seconds topped out at 143mph, and still had a price tag less than 25k. and a 1989 Mercedes Benz...Biggest slowest piece of shit ever made. Find me a naturally aspirated 3.0liter v6 Mercedes Benz from 89' that was faster than a SHO. Oh and No im not, you see anyone else agruing this fact. It was fords dealer training, they put the engine through hell and back, and your right it more around 17 or 18k

  • @Etnricer Its not unheard of, the only reason ANY engine has a red line(REv limiter) is because the Accessories cant handle it, do some research bud. Then talk shit.

  • @Etnricer you said. "Bet you didnt know asshole that in 1989 the only 4 door luxury sedan was a BMW 5 serice that was over 50k." That's all I'm saying. And V6 motors dont pull 16,000 rpms. GSXR's barely pull 16,000.

  • @sirbuick actually these engines are capible of 16,000 rpm with very minor mod, computer programming and change the crank pull size so you dont blow up your accessories. so he was right ...

  • @mojojojostwincam 16,000 is Hayabusa territory and damaging at that. If this motor does 16,000 RPM's it does so very briefly and only for youtube purposes and then it spends the rest of its days holding down paper.

  • @sirbuick these are the same yahmaha engines they used to use for the indy or formula 1 ( cant remember off hand which ) but they are just detuned with a computer program, but if you change that programming, they are capible of over 700 horsepower with no engine mods other then the accessery pullys and crank pully

  • Very Very Nice Pull.

  • I had an 89 that would rev to 7800 that was all stock. My 94 would rev to only 7200. It seems that the 89's would go a bit higher.

  • a good run would b one of these and a 97-03 prix gtp

  • @imserious2187 grand prix gets beat 9/10 times

  • @tqdvorak u wish

  • @imserious2187 look up sho vs. supercharged grand prix, gets demolished

  • @imserious2187 yeah the gtp does get beat most of the time

  • So what I just saw was a taurus (I know I know...it's a sho) revving near as makes no difference to 8k. Hot damn Yamaha knows how to throw a v6 together.

  • I think this is the first video that I've seen a SHO go to 8 grand. Did you get rid of the rev limiter?

  • i didnt no u could go 70mph while only in second gear.... LOL

  • Ive got an 88, and sadly it is a peice of shit

  • @austinpetemo too bad they never made a 1988 SHO

  • god i miss my 89 sho! :( r.i.p. 2-16-03

  • @fordxbgtfalcon I know I miss my 89 SHO more than any of the 1993's that I've owned. they are the fastest SHO by far.

  • About 6 seconds to 60.

  • B-E-A-U-TIIIFULL

  • you my friend drive and shift this thing perfectly! unlike the other videos i've seen..

  • 0-60 in 5.8 seconds or 6 nice

  • Gotta say these cars should be recognized more! More these ones than the v8's! Did you know these have secondary intake runners? It you put on a cold air or short ram intake the sound will better than music!

  • do you have a bad clutch? Why did it shake when you took off from 1st? My dads '95 ranger does that when its cold.

  • @jordy19892012 That shake you're seeing is caused by stock, old motor mounts!

  • @jordy19892012 it shook bcuz its called brake boosting

  • @rj454chevy

Hate to say it, but it's axle hop... You only brake boost in an auto trans car. The 89 SHO, assuming no major mods, is a manual.

  • @rj454chevy the 89 sho was MANUAL ONLY

  • did i time that correctly at about 5.5-5.6seconds 0-60?

thats pretty quick stock was rated at what 6.5-7seconds (which is fast for a 1989 fwd 3.0l v6 family sedan let alone a camaro of the same year with a 5.0l v8 also takes 6.5-7seconds stock 0-60)

    what mods do you have?

all i can tell from the vid is it seems you have a chip to raise the rev limiter from 7500rpm to 8000rpm and if you have that i would guess under drive pulleys and intake/exhaust?

  • This is why I miss my 89. I remember putting a new engine in it and firing it up for the first time in over a year. Holy hell I forgot how quick that thing was. Compared to my 94, the 89 would blow the doors off any gen 2....and my 94 had a lot of mods.

  • whats faster a 1990 sho or the new fusion i found they have the same power

  • the sport fusion has more power than a 1990 SHO. 220HP vs 263HP....however the 2006-2009 V6 Fusion makes the same amount of HP.

  • mods?

  • sounds great!
