Burzum is a shitty band. They don't know what music is actually. I also like metal and rock but common the guitarist can't even play the guitar well. He plays the same tones over and over again till the end of the song . Damn someone have to teach them how to make music not crap.

If i'm quoting Gaahl correctly here, they see everything that they hate about society resembled in Christianity (hence the hatred towards it). Burzum is an amazing band - Vikernes is a musical genius but there is no way he killed Euronymous to preserve himself. The facts show that there was much more at play than that. This is Varg's story and he'll stick to it but on August 10 1993, he robbed the world of a real shining light in music and he has never shown any remorse - in fact, he revels in the murder and the graphic details of it. He is free to live his life but Oystein will never have that chance again.

I don't care if Varg murdered Euronymous or killed him in self defense. Euronymous was a fucking freak. It really wouldn't surprise me if he really did have plans to torture and murder Varg. I mean, the guy was a theistic Satanist who approved of things like rape, murder, and state terrorism simply because they caused suffering. I'm glad that piece of shit is dead.

He believed Christianity was the real 'evil' and needed to be wiped away, and said in interviews that he talked about those things in his music as a way to spread/express anti-christianity, not because they cause suffering. It was more that those things are considered evil by Christianity and he wanted everyone to accept both good AND evil as part of life, like true Satanists

Burzum is an amazing band - Vikernes is a musical genius but there is no way he killed Euronymous to preserve himself. The facts show that there was much more at play than that. This is Varg's story and he'll stick to it but on August 10 1993, he robbed the world of a real shining light in music and he has never shown any remorse - in fact, he revels in the murder and the graphic details of it. He is free to live his life but Oystein will never have that chance again.

If he knew Eyronymous didn't have the guts to kill somebody, why did he take his threats (if Vrag's story is actually true, we will never know) seriously anyway ? I think he deserved his time in prison, but his entire image got fucked up by this cause the media finally had ONE MAN to blame the ENTIRE black metal thing on.

@DarkLordNagash Varg wasn't the craziest guy in the black metal scene, IMO it was either Dead or Euronymous, but Varg was the guy who went too far so they grabbed his name to blame it all on him. It's like Hitler and nazism, there were nazis even more fucked up than Hitler himself (like Goebbels) but as Hitler was the leader, they put all the errors made by others in Hitler's file too. Varg was the first BM one to appear in the media, so he took all the blame so that the file could be closed.

But I always wondered why the Black Metal community 'revolted' in the 1990's. Shouldn't a more officiated party led the revolts much earlier? It isn't like Norway turned Christian in the 1980's.

I also don't agree with his racist beliefs. I think that's the only thing I don't agree with. Other than that social belief, I think he is quite intelligent. I've been reading his stuff on his website and his views on music, his dislike (I'm sure a stronger word would do better but whatever) for the mainstream media, his knowledge of paganism (I'm ignorant about this and have not read other sources so...) and his liking to science/reason I agree with fully even we have different reasons for it.
