i suggest you start with something heavier and longer than a pencil. that's why you, including nessnomar are having a hard time is because the pencil is too light for beginners, it flies when you flick it. once you get the feel of the rotation of the object on your thumb, switch to a more cool object like, say.... a pencil or a pen.
