Yeah it was a fantastic day. Especially since there was hardly anyone about (except near the summit as always). From what I remember, the climb up to Crib Goch was much harder than I have found it before (I've done it in snow several times). All the holds were covered by thick hard snow, making the axe indispensable on this occasion.
looked like a perfect day! never done it in winter, planning on it as soon as its in good nick this season. did you ever have to reach for the axe or can it be done with cramps alone?
