THAT is what I call mind numbingly stunning. Bellini would have definitely been on his knees with admiration for Joan! What a pity todays dismally mediocre singers can't sing just a little like this. Brava Joanie! Thank you Amoredipazzia. for this. May I be greedy and ask if you have any more of this performance hiding away anywhere?;);)!

There are two editions available of this performance on CD. It is the 1961 New York Opera Society doing La Sonnambula in a full concert version in Carnegie Hall. Starring Joan Sutherland, Renato Cioni and conducted by Nicola Rescigno. l have the Gala edition myself and the sound is very good for a live recording of this time.
