i have a question, how come in some videos tutorials i watch some people dont have to render every second like us?

Do you have to adjust the RT setting for every project? Or will it stay set? I have express, but have yet to do a video project with it because of just things like that. I have windows with abode premier elements running in a virtual machine. So, I seem to go hide there since adobe is familiar to me ;-)
