I do not agree with this they say there trying to help us but they just cost us money and food my family now has to go a week without food thanks for nothing occupy denver you idiots
love it! we are slowly falling into a big hole, these protests are what we need for are freedom, so i got to say if it weren't for protesters you would have barely any freedoms in this country read a history book ,is what i have to say to the anti protesters because these protests will spark change
God please stop this hate stuff. !!!!!!!!!!!! ANd name calling yes I do think we can help each other more. I for one adopted 10 children that are all terminally ill. I am not bragging I wish i could do more. But I think we all have so much more we can do for our fellow man. And if we dont use the government for it then we will not be controlled by them. Please again stop this name calling
@momnancyring123 You sound like an admirable person who I could never match in compassion. Having said that, I take issue with your dismissal of your own government, which can do the will of its citizens only when that will is imposed on it.
Government is a tool, necessary because we can't be self-sustaining, yet remain civilized and retain our standard of living.
The formation of government is what raised us out of a dark past; take it back, it's yours.
@momnancyring123 What name-calling? Sheeple? That's more a categorization, a descriptive. But a rose by any other name... It's what you DO that matters. Nice that you adopted 10 kids, but as others have said, if you don't stand with OWS, the rest of the world's kids will grow up in a world barely worth living in, being used as batteries (ala Matrix) for big corp.s' profits.
Sure, nice libertarian concept to do for each other and keep the govt. out. But not reality. OUR country, not corps!
@momnancyring123 There will never be enough food kitchens and shelters if one family that inherited their fortune is worth more than 30% of the population. That will never, ever, balance out.
But sheep like you are always eager to trot up the chute to the slaughterhouse if only you get a handful of sweet feed now and then. Are you OK with sending your kids into the zero-options future too?
@momnancyring123 BTW, the money OWS is raising IS going to feed people -- homeless and those who take the time to be present and protest. OWS also stood behind a cop whose house was being foreclosed upon... and the list goes on. WE are *ALL* the 99% that make up OWS. This movement *IS* us helping each other!
@momnancyring123 Can we then assume you are also against weekends, the 8hr day, and working folk getting paid a living wage for a hard day's work, right? Or is it that you guys think that for you to have those things, others must go without?
@dinu1999 No, you shouldn't ASSUME any such thing. The vast majority of Occupy are employed, working just like most of the country.
Do you think that it's right that the 6 family members who own Walmart are worth MORE than the lower 30% of the entire nation combined? Yet they continue to squeeze blood out of a turnip, to deny benefits, to sell us crap product for super-inflated prices... Having knocked out all of the competition, they now choose what we wear, buy and pay. Not at all ok.
@Gyrkin59 There must be a miscommunication here, because I couldn't agree more with your statement. I was speaking to @momnancyring123's anti-union post. Hopefully, looking at my post in that context, you'll find commonalities with your own position.
@Gyrkin59 Oh, and all of the things I listed were won through struggle by the labour unions representing and comprising our forebears. Up here in Canada, they also won us universal healthcare, and maternity leave. In conclusion, I'd say we owe our trade unions our thanks and respect, and if we take any issues with them, we should join and help steer them in a better direction.
