  • But 1984 was when Ritchie was happy because he wanted Gillan back - in fact, believe he spearheaded the reunion because he liked to "run the show" anyway lol. Think he's just moody, if not worse. But he's the best, most creative guitar player - loved listening to him all the years of DP. Still miss his style.

  • STEVE MORSE SUCKS!!!I LOVE GILLAN BUT IN THE LAST 30 YEARS HIS VOCAL IS FUCKING DISASTER!!!RITCHIE IS THE BEST GUITARIST EVER,AND WITHOUT HIM THIS BAND ISN'T DEEP PURPLE!!!DON'T BE SO FUCKING BLIND!!!

  • @TheRijir Yeah, but Gillan isn't a young man anymore so you can't expect his voice to be as it once was. Ritchie is the best, as a matter of fact I'm still shocked that the Rolling Stones listed him only as high as number 50 on its list of the top rock guitarists of all time.

  • @joelombrdo that's because rolling stones magazine hate ritchie.in 70' and 80' ritchie wasn't on the their lists at all!!!???they said:ritchie have bad attitude,he is bad person!!!that is reason why is he so low on they lists.fucking rollinig stone magazine!!!i hate it.ritchie is the best guitarist ever, number 1,and i'm glad that you love ritchie, cheers

  • @TheRijir Yes, the number of incredible leads he's composed and played, as well as so many great riffs. I don't remember how Jimmy Page said it but he said something to the effect that Ritchie was a better lead guitarist than he was.

  • I was at this very gig.

It was so totally awesome to see Ritchie playing in the flesh.

As a young guitar player back then, it was like a wish come true...

  • I saw them, same tour Maple Leaf Gardens Toronto 1984, I had tears in my eyes

  • Again, during some live concerts, the band is so loud you can't hear Gillan well! Too bad.

  • Ritchie!

  • Ritchie just makes me puke. Fucking arrogant jurk.

Everybody is working hard and he is just egotripping.

I love Ritchie but man o man this just shows why it doesnt work.

I hope we will ones see a happy Ritchie with Deep Purple for a good by tour.

  • @emotobiasbulten

Blackmore may have an ego it's true... but there are not many guitarists in history that almost deserve to be egotistic.. he is one who is.

  • Way better than Rainbows version

  • Genious music hard rock

  • very bad audio, but you have Ritchie's guitar loud!!!

  • GREAT VERSION. I'VE NEVER HEARD RITCHIE PLAY SO MUCH GUITAR AS ON THIS VERSION,OR IS JUST GOOD SOUND QUALITY?

  • Nice hat, Paicey :D

  • @MoonchildMindaugas2 yeh ....funny , i saw this tour the following day in melbourne -and i always remember his hat ! ....looks like he had just come in from the garden -putting chook shit on the compost heap perhaps ?

  • @TheMichaelseymour And he quite possibly borrowed it from Roger haha

  • It's amazing I saw them at the same venue in 2010 and they're still sounding as great as ever!

  • One if my favourite songs by this great band!

  • Check out Ian with the epic lamb chops lol!

  • nice!

  • 4:17 - 4:30 ))))

  • Blackmore totally steals the show. It could be partially down to the mix, but still.. he OWNS the song here.

  • Ritchie looks like Page in the Song Remains the Same.

  • Makes me fucking weep. Greatest band ever. Many thanks for posting this!

  • It makes me weep only because this lineup will never play together again but I don't mind Steve Morse and Don Airey as replacements in the current Deep Purple lineup. They do well. I think Morse is better then Blackmore truthfully.

  • That's the exact reason why I weep. Well, and because I'm not as young as I was when I first discovered the band, and neither are they.

I like Morse a lot. Obviously, he's worked as a replacement - he's been a member of Deep Purple longer than Ritchie. But he's not better than Ritchie - not at all. To these ears, at least. We agree to disagree. :)

  • @JasonHi I tihnk one thing Morse has brought to purple besides his immense talent Is a return to the 5 songwriter formula that does not have to walk on eggshells anymore

  • I saw this tour in Tacoma Wa. in 84. What a great show. Still one of the top 5 shows I've ever seen. I agree with you in that they are better and rock harder with Steve Morse. They had no choice but to get rid of Ritchie and his mood swings.

  • Mmm! Well you're entitled to your opinion matey. I have no problem with that. But to me Purple aren't the same without Ritchie. That's not to say i don't like Steve. He's awesome. They just don't quite have that spark that made them unique anymore.

  • Great clip you made

    Deep Purple rules!!!!!

  • Hey Thanks Erwin,I like this too!

  • Deep purple forever.......

  • seen in 76 with NAZARETH..... in Philly Pa.... my home city... seen many times later BUT was never the same ,,, was ok....

  • perfect strangers uno dei migliori brani dei deep! favoloso

  • Maestro Lord in his haydaze.. Happy to say I saw this issue of Mk II twice, in 85 & 87.

  • Deep Purple MK II was the classic line up. More than10 years later this line up can still kick some ass. Too bad Ritchie and Ian Gillan couldn't get along, they didn't in the past either and they wrote some of the best Deep Purple songs ever..

  • fuckn AWESOME !!!!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading. Brings back tons of good memories. Blackmore is almost too cool in this video.

  • My favourite version!

  • post whole show man, well what ever you have

  • Rare stuff indeed. Thanks.

  • There is almost 60 min from this show.

  • Great!!! If you have more of this please post it! Thanks for the upload =)
