@brandonch25 I don't know about what it's like where you are, but when I go to vintage races here in the Oregon-Washington area, the track is covered with great-looking 490s and other Maicos. Not many of the riders are very good, but occasionally you get a really fast guy on a 490, and it turns into a race for second place. Everyone else just gives up on getting first, they know that's not going to happen!

The song is WEATHERED by CREED...nice video man...I'm old school too, I always loved the Maico Powerplant, but it took them for ever to add another gear to the bikes...the motors wher fantastic, I started racing CR250 Huskies...but I loved the Maico's, and the Huskies, the Pentons. I absolutely hated the left side kick-starter on my Husky, I think the Maico's had them too...

nice man im 12 years old and i love older bikes more than new ones! all of em maicos bultacos in fact my dad raced a 1976 bultaco 250cc pursang and that my favorite bike of all but maicos are very hard to find these days if you do find one its like 5000 dollars!!!but yea when i get older im gonna be a collector but i still race new wave motocross i have a 2005 rm85 with pro-action suspension and its a nice bike..so nice video and if you have any other bikes message me back or just comment back=)

Yeyeye, I love Maico! In a few hours i'm gonna take our GME500 (1986) out for a ride. I am not a professional crosser, but it's so daaaaamn nice to feel this almost endless power of a good, old Maico 2-stroke engine under me...

Simmilar in looks, but nothing else. The 1981 Maico 490 (Mega 2) is considered the greatest motorcross bike of all time, a perfect balance of power and handling. The 1980 440 Mega 1 was a disapointment, too tall, bad handling. 81's are worth a small fortune these days.
