continued... the creator of DG also happily states that he got the idea whilst watching Voyage. Voyage was as you say a mockumentary and DG was a drama. I really enjoyed Voyage, and I would recommend anyone to watch it, but I would also recommend DG to anyone who has a genuine interest in Sci Fi as two very seperate concepts.

@darrenholcomb42 yawn yawn, heard it all before 18 months ago when the show came out. Yes the premise is similar to Voyage but if you bothered to watch DG then you would realise that it is certainly not a rip off - similar from the fact that they are taking a voyage to the same planets - what a shocker given the limited amounts of planets in our solar system - but for a totally different reason. Its like saying Star Wars was a total rip off of the Hidden Fortress; it wasn't, it borrowed.

I just randomly came across this. Have never seen an episode but from what I see in these clips-tho yes it does look great-it is in fact a total rip off of the BBC 2004 mockumentary 'Voyage to the Planets' which featured a nearly identical ship on exactly the same mission to the same destinations and one of the characters was even named Zoe.The Britts version was much better for being completely realistic without American T.V.s need for petty personal drama's or the astronauts fucking each other

Well, I know in my mind that it's artificial due to the subject matter. But it's not like when I was a kid and you could look at it and say, "Oh, they blue-screened that shot" because you could see the outline around the actor. Based on visuals alone, I can't really distinguish between real and fake; especially when looking at this company's other material.
