hey that's the SVTiX data center in downtown san jose, must be old video since colo2 is totally empty. Probably fake, I haven't seen anything that shows it once had the sort of damage a UPS going up would do, but I haven't been through the whole building either.

@graudrakon also not sure why the lights would flicker fake or not. If batteries went they should just be off, but the switch to turn them on is a dial timer kinda hard to turn on and off really fast like that.

Large UPSes use lead-acid type batteries. Unlike lithium-ion or other types of batteries the chance of lead-acid batteries bursting into flames is fairly slim. The worst that could happen is an explosion from hydrogen released by the batteries as they are charged.

But even then, it takes a spark to ignite the hydrogen, and there has to be enough of it. The ventilation system in datacenters is enough that it would be impossible for enough hydrogen to build up to be explosive.

So, yes, everything about this video, even the idea, is fake.
