Its what my dad says. Bands these day stay for at most 5 years. But thats all the beatles should have been. But what it is about them That has helped them last with such a good fan base for almost what 50 years? I can never put my finger on just one quality.
@pedrofaba Comparing such a wonderful musician as John Lennon to the false religious fairy tale characters John stood against the worship thereof is just disrespectful to him.
Amazing...its spring 1965 and they record this candy that sounds sooo 1957.... only 10 months later they are recorded singing backwards and that we listen to the color of our dreams
Nah. it's a little different. In the beginning they don't all sing together and a few other things are changed. I prefer this version because I can "feel" the lyrics more.
it'd be nice if on the final version they did it just like this. john solo at first, then harmonies for the last half. I highly prefer this to the final cut.
This particular recording of the song (anthology version) is my favorite beatles song. beautiful melody, heartfelt, and the harmonies are the best the beatles ever gotten together.
as john lennon said: "the best stuff was left on the cutting floor." i believe him and the anthology just proves why the outtakes or bootlegs makes some of the songs seem so more alive and "worth it". this too is my favourite cut. sure, john messes around with it, but it sounds so much more vibrant that the LP cut.
johns voice in this song is just so incredible and moving i just cant help but get chills down my spine. i think this is tied with a day in the life for my all time favorite Beatles song
its amazing to see (hear) how they plucked out some words & chords acousticaly, & then morphed it together into an f-ing blockbuster of voice & music !
This song, exclusively this version from the anthology, is my all time favorite Beatles song. Perfect melody and harmonies. Lyrics weren't finished yet but the harmonies make up for it. The last 40 seconds is what they are all about.

its ok , but the original is "Better" , this dosen't have the same sound , and that's what makes it "Inferior to me"...

This has always been better than original to me. John's vocals Aline really punch through. The 3-part harmony of original not as affecting.

I have this two takes: 2 and 14.
The take 2 plays till 1:10 and starts fade-out in 1:07.
The other take is the real one (master) without repeating two verses starting in 1:08.
The reason because was cut the take 2 it was because that was the length after that the take 2 ends.
I have the take 1 also and i made a new version with take 1 and 2, want to hear it?
